Philp Makes a Fine Addition to SkyCity’s Team

Overall, Philp has accumulated significant experience within the human resources vertical prior to his appointment with SkyCity. He provided strategic guidance and advice within different cultural transformations, while at the same time contributing to the implementation of successful business strategies as a part of leading financial services and telecommunications companies. This makes him an invaluable addition to SkyCity’s team of experts.

Before SkyCity, Philp held the role of chief people officer at Chorus New Zealand Limited. He held that position since 2017. His professional background includes senior-level roles with AMP New Zealand as general manager of human resources as well as other leading roles with companies in New Zealand and Australia.

The latest announcement comes after only recently, SkyCity appointed David Attenborough to the role of a non-executive director. The former Tabcorp managing director and chief executive officer delivered an extensive experience to the company after being a part of the gaming and hospitality sector for decades.

Print Studios CEO Carl Wiggman Speaks With VSO News

Carl Wiggman

Gaming supplier Print Studios started out in 2020 and has already made clear that it intends to put its own spin on online slots. Recent title releases Reapers and Pine of Plinko Dream Drop particularly caught the attention of players, leaving them eagerly anticipating the studio’s next release, which is coming up very soon.

Holy Hand Grenade is the company’s eighth offering. It’s a five-reel slot filled with mad bishops and peasants, all tied together by the overarching theme of explosive energy that could lead to major wins for lucky players. VegasSlotsOnline News enjoyed the game so much that it has made it into our most recent Slots of the Week.

Ahead of Holy Hand Grenade’s release on April 14, VSO News sat down with Print Studios CEO and co-founder Carl Wiggman to discuss the difficulties facing start-up studios and to find out more about the upcoming religious-themed title.

Tell us a bit about your background in the industry.

I started at Unibet where I was a management trainee in the product department. Then I gravitated more and more towards slot games. There were a couple of start-up slot studios there and eventually I reached a point where I felt like I needed to get into the makings of the game so I began working at Push Gaming.

We wanted to allow others to do what they do best

I then reached a point where together with two friends we felt that we could start a studio in a slightly more efficient way than what we were seeing. We saw that there were better ways to capitalize on talent. We wanted to allow others to do what they do best without feeling like they needed to be promoted into a managerial role. That’s where we started Print Studios.

Was there anything particularly challenging about starting the company?

From the start, the premise of the studio was to find really strong candidates. We wanted to recruit the most senior people at other studios and had to workout how to get them to come to us when our studio was just a couple of guys and a PowerPoint. That was challenging, but it went far better than expected. It turns out that a lot of people thrive on challenges. Those people are the ones that we needed and the ones that we found.

You also launched during the pandemic. Did this pose any difficulties?

It was fine because we already knew we wanted a remote studio. Even with these multinational companies that have offices, there is always someone that needs to be called in because they’re not in that location. We felt that we should just make it remote from the start but make it right rather than any half measures.

How do you stand out from the crowd in such a saturated slots market?

We make games using new mechanics and take a quality over quantity approach. We have less releases than the average studio per year, but then we have the ability to take on more interesting challenges within those games.

we take on the difficult ideas because we have such strong people

There are some ideas that other studios would shy away from because of their complexity, but we take on the difficult ideas because we have such strong people around us.

You have seven games in your portfolio now with one soon to be released. Which have been your favorite to make?

It’s hard to have any favorites as I’ve loved working on them all. Pine of Plinko was fun because it all came together really quickly and smoothly. But then on the other side of the coin, Reapers was a really complex game to work on so everything took much longer. Both are fun to make in different ways.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming release Holy Hand Grenade. Where did the unique idea first come from?

I’d seen Holy Hand Grenades pop up in different games and movies and it just felt like something that had that right vibe. It’s got a bit of fun to it and a promise of explosive energy with the potential for big wins. Right away the name seemed like it could be a coin slot.

Holy Hand Grenade by Print Studios

It’s a lighthearted theme without feeling corny, and it seemed like a fun story to explore. It features a medieval town where the local father has decided that the only way that God communicates with us is through explosions. That was really fun to explore.

What makes the game different in terms of its features?

This is us exploring and digging deeper into the SuperSpinners mechanic than we ever have. There’s an amazing feeling when you have a big cluster of symbols that are all covering some SuperSpinners because you know they’re all going to be involved in the win. We found a mechanic that does that super efficiently but can still be dynamic.

the mystery symbols expand or spread randomly

The Hand Grenade feature where the mystery symbols expand or spread randomly – that felt like something that could be fun to do over and over, especially on a big grid when you combined it with these chain reactions you get.

The game is out on the network April 14.

Sounds exciting! What about the future? Do you have any game details you can share with us?

The next game after Holy Hand Grenade is a really special one called Cash Defense. It has a very unique mechanic. It’s a way of combining the typical video game genre with slot games in a boost to both sides. It’s going to be really fun.

“Take Time to Think” Fails to Impact Players, Study Says

Government to Review £50m Charity Lottery Annual Sales Cap

Recent research has highlighted that Take Time to Think, a safer gambling initiative by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), might not be very effective. The results show that the campaign and its slogan barely affect players’ behavior, if at all.

The inefficiency of the Take Time to Think system was demonstrated by experts at the University of Warwick. The researchers tested the campaign’s effectiveness in a live betting environment but couldn’t observe an impact on how players wager.

The experts created an online roulette game and supplied all participants with £5 to play. This was, in fact, real money that players could withdraw instead of gambling away. Then, the researchers split the 1,500 participants into three groups.

The first group saw the Take Time to Think campaign prominently promoted in the background. Although the campaign was featured throughout their playtime, it didn’t disrupt their gameplay. On the contrary, the second group was interrupted mid-game by a pop-up that promotes Take Time to Think. Unlike the first group, the second group was forced to manually close the pop-up window. Lastly, the third group could play without seeing the slogan at all.

As it turns out, the experts were unable to notice any significant difference in the ways the people from the three groups played.

Stronger Wording Is Needed, Experts Say

According to Lukasz Walasek, associate professor of psychology at the University of Warwick and co-author of the research, neither the background message nor the pop-up window had any noticeable impact. Unfortunately, Walasek said, the slogan failed to change players’ bet sizes, betting frequency or playtime.

According to the authors of the study, a better responsible gambling campaign would be one that clearly highlights the dangers of gambling. This may include warning labels such as the ones found on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

Elliot Ludvig, professor of psychology at the University of Warwick, noted that strong wording would be needed if such initiatives are to have an impact on player behavior. Ludvig argues that such programs’ efficiency should be tested before they are launched to the general public.

BGC’s Previous Campaign Was Suboptimal as Well

Take Time to Think was launched in 2021. It effectively replaced the previous program which was called When the Fun Stops Stop. Both programs have been extensively featured across industry marketing materials.

Unfortunately, When the Fun Stops Stop also failed to have a significant impact on British players’ behavior. Before the campaign was replaced by Take Time to Think, the University of Warwick ran a similar probe, resulting in similar results.

The €1,100 WPT Prime Amsterdam Main Event features a trio of starting flights, with Day 1A shuffling up and dealing at 12:30 p.m. CET on March 28. Day 1B starts at the same time on March 29, with a turbo-structured Day 1C scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CET also on March 29.

Both Day 1A and 1B are played to a 40-minute clock, while Day 1C uses 20-minute levels. All three flights conclude when approximately 12.5% of the field remains (one in eight entrants), with those players progressing to Day 2 in the money places. Day 2 plays to a 60-minute clock, and ends when the eight-handed final table is set, while the final day uses 60-minute blinds until heads-up; they then shorten to 30 minutes.

Although the Main Event is the tournament everyone wants to win, there are plenty of other tournaments that ae sure to attract hundreds, if not thousands, of players to the Holland Casino in Amsterdam.

The €565 NLHE Opener is the perfect way to get the festival’s show on the road, while the €840 NLHE Bounty event, which awards €250 for every opponent you bust, will undoubtedly prove popular. Then there are the PLO with Antes tournaments, and a €2,200 buy-in High Roller. Everything points to WPT Prime Amsterdam being an incredible week of live poker action.

Paris Saint – Germain demonstrates their Limited Play following another Early Exit from the Champions League

Paris Saint – Germain demonstrates their Limited Play following another Early Exit from the Champions League

After Paris Saint – Germain eventually was eliminated from the Champions League during the last – 16 for the 5th – time over the course of the past 7 – years, Kylian Mbappé seemed to be not so surprised about that.

Media Statements

Upon him reflecting on PSG’s overall team effort resulting in a 3 to 0 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023. The French – born striker frankly stated what was on everyone there’s mind, “This kind of performance against the biggest European teams is actually the maximum PSG can deliver.”

“I said it at the beginning of the season, in the first press conference of the season, that we were going to give our all. And that was our all … That’s the truth,” Mbappé said.

Even after 5 – years following him joining PSG, Mbappe has now played in 2 – times as many World Cup finals as he has played in the Champions League finals.

We’re going to ask ourselves the tough questions and go back to our daily routine, which is the league,” Mbappé expressed.

What a Disappointment!

Because the cash – rich Qatari investors took control of PSG back in 2011, they have been a dominant force in France although they have consistently failed to reproduce that winning success on the European stage even though the Paris Saint – Germain football club spends extreme surpluses of money on huge big – name superstar footballers.

The one and only Champions League final that Paris Saint – Germain was able to make it to was in the pandemic – lessened format of the 2020 season, when it also featured the loss to Bayern Munich. Mbappé as well as Neymar (who cost a total of 402 million euros or $432 million) were both held scoreless in that specific contest.

Superstars not Holding their Value for PSG

Since playmakers such as Javier Pastore rose to be Paris Saint – Germain’s 1st – major signing for 42 million euros or $45 million back in the year of 2011. PSG’s total net spending has increased to over 1 billion euros or $1.1 billion. Even though the currency display has been quite extreme, Paris Saint – Germain has been unable to build a solid collective with complete depth on their bench, and instead they consistently rely on the individual skills of their very talented big – name superstars.

Back in the day it used to be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but now it is dependent on Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar. Neymar is presently out due to an injury up until the end of the season, and he did not play in Munich this week, while Messi as well as Mbappé were silenced by the players of Bayern Munich.

In order to strengthen the football club, Paris Saint – Germain officials had previously discussed the possibility of employing a more versatile full – back as well as some new midfielders, with Aurélien Tchouaméni and Ousmane Dembélé supposedly were the names that came across the landscape last season.

However, none of them ultimately joined PSG while they once again missed out on the signing of the Inter Milan central defender in Milan Skriniar. During the winter transfer window, Paris Saint – Germain attempted to recruit Hakim Ziyech, but that loan move fell apart due to a late proposal of the necessary documents.

PSG vs. Bayern Munich

In Munich, Germany on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 the insurmountable absence of the injured Presnel Kimpembeleft Paris Saint – Germain reliant upon the inexperienced 17 – year – old center back in El Chadaille Bitshiabufollowing Marquinhos as well as Nordi Mukiele both being subbed out for.

“PSG has one of the biggest budgets in Europe and there is no solution on the bench,” the former Paris Saint – Germain player in Edouard Cissé relayed through an interview with the L’Equipe newspaper.

In midfield, another teen in Warren Zaire – Emery was put in the match for the final 15 – minutes as he substituted for Fabian Ruiz.

“You have to turn the game around and you can only put in Zaire – Emery, who is my daughter’s age,” Cisse goes on to say. “You really have to ask yourself questions.”

Following PSG getting taken out of the French Cup by their French rival of Marseille last month, all that Paris Saint – Germain can do this season is possibly win the French league title. With just 12 – matches remaining for PSG to play they currently have an 8 – point advantage over Marseille.

“It’s a big disappointment,” the head coach of Paris Saint – Germain, Christophe Galtier, emphatically explained. “We have to deal with it and accept it. There’s a lot of disappointment in the dressing room. I don’t know if it’s a lesson to be learned, but there’s a lot of frustration.”

With Paris Saint – Germain’s consistency of regularly changing coaches, Galtier’s near future at the helm of the football club certainly looks grim, while Mbappé, who joined from Monaco back in 2017 when he was still a young teen, could be attracted to leave the squad if he feels that he is becoming a huge skill player that is being totally wasted.

“No, no, I’m calm,” Kylian Mbappe proclaimed after he was asked if the defeat versus Bayern Munich would have an influence on his future with Paris Saint – Germain. “My objective is to win the league, and then we’ll see.”

Childhood Dreams of Kylian Mbappé

Mbappé originally joined the Paris Saint Germain football club after leaving Monaco back in 2017 when he was still a youngster (teenager). Kylian has often stated that playing for Real Madrid has always been his childhood dream, and even when he signed his most recent contract extension, the French forward never ruled out making that move happen one day. Now may be that time especially while he is in the prime of his pro football career.

“What will happen in the future, I don’t know,” Kylian Mbappé said back in May of 2022 when he was thinking about a possible transfer.

Danske Spil Group Reports Satisfactory Performance for 2022

Danske Spil Group Reports Satisfactory Performance for 2022

Despite what has been described as an uncertain backdrop molded by the decreased consumer confidence that reached an all-time low in 2022, Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the growing inflation, and the European energy crisis, the national lottery in Denmark has reported a satisfactory full-year performance.

Overall Gross Gaming Revenue up 3% in 2022

The group reported an overall gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the year that ended December 31, 2022, of DKK4.98 billion ($708 million), marking a 3% rise compared to 2021’s GGR of DKK4.83 billion ($687.74 million). The GGR recorded for 2022 was also aligned with the group’s guidance of between DKK4.80 billion ($683.55 million) and DKK5.00 billion ($712.04 million).

The group’s lottery business Danske Lotteri Spil recorded a GGR of DKK2.81 billion ($400.16 million), marking a 0.7% growth compared to 2021’s numbers while also establishing a new annual record.

At the same time, the operator’s sports betting and online casino segment, Danske Licens Spil, reached the DKK1.66 billion mark in terms of GGR for 2022, signaling a drop of 8.7% compared to DKK1.82 billion ($259.18 million) in 2021. The main factor that caused the decrease was the decline in sports betting. The casino segment’s revenue remained flat.

The gaming hall business Elite Gaming has recorded a GGR increase of 44.2% to DKK299.6 million ($426.05 million) as a result of all pandemic-related restrictions being removed from land-based gambling venues in Denmark.

Danske Klasse-lotteri, the class lottery that was embedded in the group last April, recorded a GGR of DKK192.5 million ($27.41 million). The operator’s Swush fantasy sports platform’s GGR went up 6.6%, reaching DKK16.1 million ($229,276).

Danske Spil also announced a 4% rise in its operating profit for 2022, to DKK3.60 billion ($512.66) after paying state taxes worth DKK644.7 million ($91.81 million), dealer commissions worth DKK459.6 million ($65.45 million) and additional costs related to gaming of DKK269.6 million ($38.39 million).

The group’s net profit for 2022 was 6.2% higher on a YoY basis, to DKK1.73 billion ($246.36 million). Danske Spil ended last year with a paid income tax of DKK490.7 million ($69.87 million) and an EBITDA of DKK2.56 billion ($364.56 million), marking a 3.7% rise.

According to the group’s chief executive officer Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen, Danske Spil managed to overcome the challenges it faced last year, reach growth, and fulfill its expectations. Lyhne-Knudsen spoke about the importance of their satisfying results in the context of their ongoing “efforts against gambling addiction” which continue to pay off and show good results in Denmark.

According to the CEO, the group manages to continuously lower the number of Danske Spil customers who are at a high risk of being confronted with gambling addiction problems. Lyhne-Knudsen, who was appointed CEO in October 2020, emphasized the importance of promoting a selection of responsible games, safe and healthy habits of gamblers, customers’ happiness, and “healthy and profitable business”.

As stated in Danske Spil Group’s Code of Conduct for suppliers and business partners, the company “makes a dedicated effort to be a responsible player in the betting and gambling market” while focusing on the promotion of a responsible gambling market that can protect vulnerable players, children, young people, and other groups that are considered vulnerable.

The group is a reputable member of international trade associations like the World Lottery Association and the European Lotteries, along with the Danish Online Gambling Association.

Danske Spil is also a signatory to the Association’s Code of Conduct for Responsible Gambling and it constantly strives to only work with partners who have expressed their support for or who are certified within the previously mentioned responsible gambling standards.

Last October, Danske Spil announced it would renew its partnership with OpenBet.

Cryptocurrency efficiency in iGaming – Top Rank Casinos

Cryptocurrency efficiency in iGaming

There have been many changes in technology since we entered the Information Age over half a century ago. Among the most significant is cryptocurrency, which is now a trillion dollar industry, having made its way into the mainstream. As such, various industries have decided to incorporate crypto development into their business models. One such industry is gaming.

Over the past decade, alternative payment methods (APMs) have been gaining momentum, and the trend continues to grow. According to statistics, 77% of global online purchases are made with a local or alternative payment method rather than a credit card. Why? Convenience, safety, and speed are some of the main benefits of choosing APMs.

APMs give consumers the freedom of choice. They can pay for the things they want, whenever they want. There is no longer need to spend time adding all of the information for every single purchase. Checkouts are much easier. What’s more, the highest security standards, used by APMs, keep their customers’ personal data safe.

Cryptocurrency is a primary example of an alternative payment method that has already conquered the hearts of millions of people worldwide and keeps breaking new records. In this article, we will discuss the advantages of using cryptocurrency in the gaming industry, and how it can help players stay protected. So, let’s get straight to business.

Benefits of Using Crypto

Enhanced Privacy

Crypto offers the benefits of anonymity in financial transactions and enhanced control over their financial data. The anonymity helps protect users’ identities and funds from scammers and eliminates the fear of third-party  tracking and sharing personal information. By enabling digital payments without revealing personal information, users can enjoy secure transactions. The blockchain-based system of crypto transactions further guarantees complete privacy as they cannot be altered or reversed once confirmed.

Instant Transactions

With blockchain technology serving as the foundation for crypto, the world of gaming cryptocurrency has seen a significant shift towards faster and more efficient deposit processing. Approvals are now a thing of the past, as blockchain enables instant deposits. Additionally, the decentralized network ensures that the blockchain is always up and running, providing users with access to their funds anytime and anywhere, 24/7.

Improved Security

Decentralization is a key feature of cryptocurrency, making it more secure for users, including those playing at crypto casinos. With no central authority, users have complete control over their funds and can access them only with their unique password. This eliminates the risk of account hacking and funds theft—common issues faced by users of traditional financial institutions.

Increased Resilience to Regulations

The decentralized nature of crypto, especially in the context of crypto betting, provides increased resilience to regulations. This enables users to engage in various activities, such as gambling, without worrying about third party control or restrictions. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals and organizations operating in countries with strict financial regulations or those seeking to maintain privacy in their financial operations.

Are there any Disadvantages of Using Crypto? Yes, but…

Crypto’s Fluctuating Value

One of the drawbacks of cryptocurrencies is their volatility. The value of crypto can fluctuate greatly, making it a riskier investment option than traditional currencies. However, as more individuals adopt and use crypto, the demand for them increases, which gradually leads to more stability in crypto’s value. Also, stablecoins like USDT (Tether) can address the issue. They serve as a bridge between traditional currencies and non-stable cryptocurrencies, being pegged to a stable asset such as the US dollar and facilitating exchanges between the two.

Understanding Crypto’s Challenges

Cryptocurrency can pose difficulties for those who are not tech-savvy, making it hard to understand and use. Still, as we all know, practice makes perfect, and crypto gambling fans are living proof of it. Once you dive deep and figure out how crypto works, it won’t seem like rocket science for you anymore. As the saying goes, everything is hard before it’s easy.

Regulatory Ambiguity

Since crypto is only gaining popularity in Asia, not all countries have introduced clear legislation toward this payment method. Nevertheless, the overall perception is that most Asian countries recognize the benefits of cryptocurrency adoption, including low transaction costs and the introduction of blockchain technology into their public services, like in Cambodia.

Crypto is already legal in such countries as Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and others. Therefore, there is a very high chance that the views of the Asian government might positively impact crypto’s use and accessibility in future as well.

Rather than gamers using traditional debit or credit cards, nowadays there are specific cryptocurrencies that are accepted in both the online and mobile gaming environment. Cryptocurrencies are also one of the hottest trends in the online casino industry, with players of slots, table games, and more utilizing paperless money to facilitate safe and efficient virtual gameplay. As the sector continues to grow competitively, platforms are making a point of providing different welcome offers for new users who are looking to join the casino gaming community for the first time. With promotions facilitating an increased target audience, more gamers will be introduced to crypto in the online casino sphere, understanding its place as a secure monetary form. One thing’s for certain: cryptocurrency’s place in the gaming industry is here to stay.

Parimatch Joins the Crypto Casino Trend

In recent years, a growing number of tech companies dealing directly with payments have implemented crypto as the payment method, and betting and gaming platforms are no exception. This is because more and more players prioritize protecting their information and transactions while enjoying the gaming excitement.

Parimatch is one such company.  Founded in 1994 in Ukraine, the international sports betting company boasts 6 million-plus players worldwide. And provides its customers with a range of crypto options for deposits and withdrawals, including  Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Tether, Binance Pay, and Litecoin.

Players increasingly turn to cryptocurrency due to its ease of use and security. Additionally, the company offers clear instructions on how to make payments and provide 24/7 support to assist with any questions or concerns.

Wrapping Up

In conclusion, crypto gaming offers a range of benefits, including enhanced privacy, faster transaction processing, improved security, and increased resilience to regulations. By embracing this technology, users can enjoy a more secure, efficient, and private financial experience.

Napoli vs Eintracht Frankfurt Odds

Draw +320
Eintracht Frankfurt +550
Spread Odds
Over 3.5 Goals +175
Under 3.5 Goals -227

*Odds taken from bet365 on Friday, March 10, 2023.

When, Where, and How to Watch?

  • Place: Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, Italy
  • Date: Wednesday, March 15, 2023
  • Time: 3:00 PM ET
  • How to Watch: Paramount+

It’s Been a Wonderful Year for Napoli

It’s almost 100% certain that Napoli are going to win the Italian Serie A this year, which is going to be their third title in history, as well as their first since 1990. As if that wasn’t enough, these guys also have a chance to win several other trophies, including the Champions League.

Actually, considering that they have a double-figure point advantage over the second-placed Serie A team (Inter Milan), you can be sure that they’re going to focus entirely on the Champions League.

Even though they got a 2-0 lead from the first leg, they’re going to take Wednesday’s game very seriously. Sure, even a loss by one goal would take them to the next phase of the UCL, but we think they’re going to go for a win.

Eintracht Frankfurt Have No Other Option But to Attack

They’re 2-0 down, meaning that they need to try and win in Naples. And they need a big win. They need to win by at least two goals. That doesn’t seem very likely, but the Germans have no other option but to try.

Luckily for them, Eintracht Frankfurt are fantastic in the offense. In the German Bundesliga, they average around two goals per game. Further, in the group stage of the UCL, we saw them score seven goals in six games. Five of those goals, they scored on the road.

Obviously, they got the quality to score against Napoli in Naples, but do they have what it takes to defend against the Italian powerhouse? We don’t think so.

Napoli vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

Our prediction for Napoli vs Eintracht Frankfurt is that this is going to be a super-exciting game. Both teams are great offensively, and both want to score as many goals as possible on Wednesday. That said, we’re certain we’ll see goals galore in Naples, probably with each team scoring a few times.

But who’s gonna score more? Perhaps no one – this game looks destined to end in a tie.

Pick: Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt to draw; over 3.5 goals

BettorOff Alex Dubin: “It Doesn’t Matter If You Participate – March Madness Pulls You In”

BettorOff Alex Dubin: “It Doesn’t Matter If You Participate – March Madness Pulls You In”

March Madness is upon us and as new states launch their online mobile betting just in time for the collegiate betting bonanza, we sit down with BettorOff CEO and co-founder Alex Dubin to discuss the event and what it’s going to mean for sports fans and sportsbooks.

Q: What is the biggest reason why this tournament has become as popular as it has from a betting perspective?

The interest that accompanies March Madness is virtually unparalleled by any sporting event in the United States. Sixty-four schools will be involved, so take all those students and alumni, then add the local and statewide fans and finally the national fans for programs like Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Michigan and UCLA; the number of people who are passionately engaged in this tournament is incredible and people love betting on games that matter to them.

Q: What makes the format of March Madness so intriguing from a betting stance?

Bracket-style tournaments are always intriguing to bet on because of all the possible storylines, machinations and outcomes.

Historic upsets (UVA becoming the first #1 seed to lose to a #16 in the first round of the 2018 tournament); opportunities for redemption (UVA winning the National Championship the very next year); storied rivalries (Duke/UNC, Michigan/Ohio State, Kentucky/Louisville); Cinderella stories (NC State (’83) and Villanova (’85) winning it all, George Mason (’06) and Wichita State (’13) to the final four and countless early and mid-round upsets that happen at least a few times every year) and, of course, the opportunity to pick games that your alma mater or favourite team is playing in.

March Madness is one of the top, if not the top, sporting event for social betting. Virtually every household, workplace and friend group has bracket challenges.

Everyone participates – even those who have never watched NCAA basketball. For those who need a place to turn with help in filling out their brackets, or want to compete against friends – including at a more granular level than just brackets, that is where we can really help. BettorOff has niche experts that can help with a tournament of this kind where there are probably some teams that people don’t follow closely or have never heard of.

Q: The main betting focus for March Madness looks to be down to bets on how a specific player will fare rather than a team. Why is this and how does that differ from other major US sporting events?

Prop bets, specifically player-based props, are more popular now than ever before. The ability to focus on one player’s performance often allows bettors to feel they can concentrate on the prop without having to account for too many variables. Whether or not a player scores 30 points on a given night is a very straightforward bet, especially if the bettor feels like they really know that player and that matchup. It can also be great fun to really pay attention and root for one player during the course of a game; it can almost feel like you are in it together.

Q: Following on from record numbers recorded in bets placed at the Super Bowl, do you expect something similar for March Madness?

Absolutely. As legalised online sports betting continues its explosive growth, major events such as the Super Bowl and March Madness are primed to grow right alongside it. The NCAA Tournament, in particular, draws such an incredible annual handle because of the number of teams involved and the number of games played (67 including the play-ins). I would be shocked if this year’s tournament did not break records.

Q: Are there any states in particular that you are keeping an eye on from a betting perspective? Is there one state in particular that could provide a real betting surge for March Madness?

Indiana, no question. The Hoosier State lives and dies by basketball and this year, they will have two bitter in-state rivals in the tournament, both with a very real chance of making a deep run (Purdue – #5 nationally at the time of writing this and Indiana – #15).

Q: What is your prediction for the US as a whole for March Madness in terms of wagering?

Because of its broad appeal and sheer volume of games to watch and bet on (every single one of which is televised and livestreams), The NCAA Tournament has become the highest-grossing sporting event in the country by handle. The American Gaming Association estimates over $8 billion in handle on this year’s tournament and I could reasonably see it surpassing $10 billion, especially if some of the more nationally popular teams go deep into the tournament.

Set on An “Awesome Historical Adventure”

BGaming’s chief marketing officer (CMO), Kate Puteiko, described the new slot as a “generous” one packed with all the features meant to send players on yet another amazing historical adventure. As further explained by Puteiko, the provider constantly works on creating “slots with favorite fan mechanics” that are prone to turn into hit games.

Giving the example of their iconic Book of Cats MEGAWAYS and Book of Pyramids slots, the CMO explained their portfolio is this way subject to more diversification, which in turn makes it more appealing for all players.

Book of Kemet carries players on the fascinating tale of the popular ancient civilization with breathtaking riches that need to be discovered using the clues found in the mysterious book.

As the action gradually unfolds on the nicely designed grid filled with Egypt-themed symbols, the player’s job is to discover as much of the hidden gold of Cairo as possible. To do this, they must look at the map where every combo of matching symbols sheds light on a fresh part of the mystery.

When three scatter symbols simultaneously land on the reels, players activate the Free Spins Round. The latter hosts a randomly selected expanding symbol. The round can also be retriggered, thus adding an extra expanding symbol to the same round.

Slot aficionados eager to immediately start exploring the Free Spins Round can take advantage of the available Bonus Buy feature. Players are given the chance to buy up to nine random expanded symbols.

The new slot also comes with a Chance x2.5 feature that adds even more thrill to the gameplay while boosting the winning potential when engaged in the main game.

At the end of February, SkillOnNet announced an important content integration agreement with BGaming, with the latter making its mobile-friendly slot, arcade, and provably fair games available to SkillOnNet partner operators.
