The English Premier League has had an adrenaline-pumping season, but it’s now coming to an end. That doesn’t mean you have to stop here. We’ve got plenty of soccer-themed slots to keep you hyped up even now Manchester City has reclaimed the trophy.

Let’s dive right in – remember you can play all these and much more for free at VegasSlotsOnline.

Kick off with the Football Star online slot, a Microgaming creation with 96.42% RTP and 243 ways to win.

Listen to the crowd cheer as you spin the reels of the Football Star online slot, a five-reeled game set right in the middle of the soccer pitch. The bright colors that accompany the slot blend in well with the upbeat theme Microgaming has given the slot.

Each win triggers the Rolling Reels, which is when winning symbols disappear to make room for new ones to fall. The question is – how many wins can you achieve before the feature ends?

The Football Star slot has 40 wilds on the reels. These boost your wins by substituting for any regular symbol. Watch out for the Striking Wild Feature, where one reel turns wild to guarantee you a prize.

Finally, there is the free spins round. You’ll get 15, 20, or 25 when landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters respectively. Score goals and grab prizes of up to 3,200x your stake.

Next, there are the trophies, aka the scatter. Three of these take you to the free spins round where you’ll feel like a true member of the club with Football Club multipliers. These start at 1x and increase by one each time a new emblem lands on the reels. The total multiplier, that could reach up to 11x, is applied to the total win achieved by the end of the free spins round.

This shows you how many times a selected symbol appears on the reels during a specified number of spins. You’ll be rewarded with a multiplier if you achieve the correct number.

Then there’s the Golden Football scatter, which rewards a random prize just for falling on the reels. Get this with three regular football scatters (or three football scatters) to receive free spins with five levels. Each level comes with a multiplier that increases up to 10x. Golden multipliers dish out prizes of up to 50x during this round.

Practice makes perfect! Play the Super Striker slot for free at VSO and see how far you can get!

Take your pick from 32 famous football teams before launching The Champions online slot. Win up to 1,364x your stake on this Pragmatic Play creation.

Become a champion of your favorite football team with The Champions slot machine. Engage with the catchy soundtrack and bright graphics as you play over the 25 paylines with 96.51% RTP.

First up there’s the wild, which both completes combinations and offers its own payout. Then there’s the Momentum Progressive Game, where you’ll need to score goals to increase your multiplier. How? By shooting footballs into the marked spot on the grid and leveling up.

There are 11 levels in all, each with a multiplier starting at 2x and capping at 20x. When reaching a new level, you’ll keep the corresponding multiplier for ten consecutive spins. If you do not score another goal in that time, you’ll return to level 1.

Lastly, the Penalty Shots Bonus Game, which you’ll trigger when hitting three bonus symbols. You’ll be given five shots that reward you with a prize of between 5x and 100x your total bet. How much you’ll receive depends on how many goals you score.

Detroit Lions’ Jameson Williams “Wasn’t Aware” of the NFL’s Gambling Policy Before Suspension

Detroit Lions logo

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has revealed that he “wasn’t aware” of the NFL’s gambling policy before he received a six-game suspension last month. The 2022 first round draft pick described how he was “hurt” and “sick” after learning about the ban.

he engaged in mobile betting at the team’s training facility

Williams didn’t place any wagers on NFL games, but he engaged in mobile betting at the team’s training facility, which is against the NFL’s rules. While Williams doesn’t remember placing these bets, he does not intend to appeal the league’s decision.

He said he doesn’t frequently place wagers and he’s looking forward to getting back in action with the team in the seventh week of the season. The 22-year-old hopes that other athletes will now be fully aware of the potential pitfalls of sports betting.

Three of Williams’ Detroit teammates also received bans last month for gambling offenses; the Lions released all three. Lions General Manager Brad Holmes and Head Coach Dan Campbell both believe that Williams has learned his lesson about betting and they have no concerns about any potential future issues.

Maverick Gaming Poker Room To Officially Open In June

Maverick Gaming Poker Room To Officially Open In June

On May 23rd, Washington-based Maverick Gaming, a poker pioneer owned by Eric Persson, revealed an alliance with Rhode Island-based Bally’s Corporation to officially open the Maverick Gaming Poker Room, which will be located at the 66-year-old Strip resort.

However, the terms of the agreement were not revealed.

Grand opening in June:

Maverick is the current owner of 4 commercial casinos in Nevada, 3 in Colorado and 23 card rooms in Washington, which it achieved through working with tribal businesses, which shows that it is truly one of the pioneers of the industry. Commenting on the planned opening, Jeremy Weinstein, chief marketing officer for Maverick, said: “The company intends to capture players with twice-daily tournaments and the lowest rake – the commission paid to the casino on games – on the Strip.”

In addition, the poker room is slated to have a grand opening in June, with details on the opening date and time to be revealed soon. But that’s not all; as the room will be located adjacent to Bally’s Big Bet Poker livestream broadcast studio at the Tropicana.

The network’s showrunners and executive producers are responsible for the partnership:

The partnership was orchestrated by the network’s showrunners and executive producers of Bally’s Big Bet Poker livestream and television series, Houston Curtis and Rick Mahr of Outlaw Media Group, and supported by Maverick CEO Eric Persson, a poker player. In a statement, Arik Knowles, vice president and general manager of Tropicana Las Vegas, said: “We are very excited to be working with Mr. Persson and Maverick Gaming in an effort to also raise the stakes on inclusivity and affordability, treating players of all levels like VIPs at our tables.” Curtis added: “When Bally’s gave us the opportunity to expand the Bally’s Big Bet Poker brand to the Tropicana Las Vegas, we immediately thought of Eric as a tremendous asset, both on and off the felt. Persson’s industry expertise and proven ability to build successful poker rooms superbly aligns with Bally’s omni-channel network. Then, of course, there is Eric’s massive influence and appeal as a super high-stakes pro player.”

Furthermore, the room is projected to offer No Limit Hold ’Em games with $1 small blinds and $3 big blinds in one game and $2 small blinds with $5 big blinds in the other. As part of the entire upcoming poker room experience at the upcoming poker room, Eric Persson will be taking on deep stacked giants of the poker world at Bally’s Big Bet Poker® which will include world champions, cash game crushers, legendary sports stars and Hollywood celebrities.

Binding agreement:

Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. owns the Tropicana land, with the casino operated by Providence, Bally’s. Additionally, the both firms recently verified that “they have signed a binding agreement with the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball team, which hopes to build a $1.5 billion, 30,000-seat baseball stadium with a retractable roof in a bid to relocate to Las Vegas.”

However, if that happens, Bally’s has emphasized that it will build a new resort and probably open it under the Bally’s brand name, as it has done with other facilities around the country. Right now, its largest venture is building a new casino in Chicago.

Illinois Social Services Manager Arrested for Gambling With $1.6m in Daycare Funds

Kids at daycare

Shauntelle Pridgeon was supposed to approve daycare providers for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), but instead, she allegedly used her role as manager to steal at least $1.6m and use that money to gamble. Her scheme was uncovered last summer and she was charged with fraud earlier this month, but it wasn’t until this week that Pridgeon was arrested and the charges were unsealed.

Pridgeon worked as a social service community planner for DCFS starting in 2015 and began her alleged scam the following year. The DCFS paid daycare providers for their services to children that were under the department’s care, but according to the Chicago Sun-Times, federal authorities allege that “at least 15 child care providers paid at least $1.6 million into a private bank account controlled by Pridgeon and her spouse.”

Pridgeon netted $2.2m in gambling losses from January 2015 through November 2022

She then used that money to gamble, primarily on slot machines. Records show that Pridgeon netted $2.2m in gambling losses from January 2015 through November 2022.

Pridgeon was ultimately found out when a supervisor discovered that a childcare provider that she approved had received $280,000 from the state, despite not having actually taken care of any children. The supervisor asked Pridgeon for her files on the provider, but she didn’t have them. Another employee got the files for the supervisor, but Pridgeon took them from that employee and later threw them in the garbage.

West Indies’ Wicketkeeper Devon Thomas Suspended, Charged for Cricket Match Fixing

West Indies’ Wicketkeeper Devon Thomas Suspended, Charged for Cricket Match Fixing

Just a few months after 33-year-old Antigua and Barbuda cricketer Devon Thomas made his West Indies Test debut, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has hit the wicketkeeper with seven charges linked to fixing cricket matches.

Last week, Cricket West Indies (CWI) picked Thomas for an upcoming one-day international series against the United Arab Emirates, suggesting the selectors were unaware of the ICC investigation. The West Indian cricket body took to Twitter on Tuesday with a link to an official statement on Martin’s charges and immediate suspension:

CWI said it was “aware” that the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit had brought charges against Thomas and that while it “remains firm in denouncing corruption in cricket,” it would not make any further comments in relation to the cricketer’s charges.

fix, contrive or influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or other aspects of matches”

CWI, however, cited the ICC’s charges as stating Thomas contrived or was involved in an deal “to fix or attempt to fix, contrive or influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or other aspects of matches in the Lanka Premier League 2021.”

The ICC also charged Thomas under several other codes, including failing to disclose full details of an approach in Abu Dhabi T10 2021 and the Caribbean Premier League 2021.

All-rounder Thomas, who has played 21 ODIs, 12 T20s, and the one Test in December, has 14 days starting May 23, 2023 to respond to the ICC’s charges.

Gambling-related ads have a significant effect on students. 63% of the survey respondents recall seeing wagering ads on campus and 58% said they’d be likelier to place bets after viewing these marketing materials.

35% have used a student bookie to place wagers

The research shows that 41% of students have bet on their own school’s teams, while 35% have used a student bookie to place wagers. One of the more concerning insights was that of the 16% of the respondents who fell into the “risky gambler” category, 70% believe they will make money from sports betting in the long run.

Speaking about the reason for conducting the survey, NCAA president Charlie Baker said: “We needed a new baseline so we can better understand what student-athletes are experiencing on their campuses and among their peers.” The NCAA plans to conduct another nationwide survey in the fall to ask student-athletes about their betting activity.

UK-based Entain To Take Over Management Of New Zealand TAB

UK-based Entain To Take Over Management Of New Zealand TAB

Entain, a global wagering and gambling company, will become the new owner of the New Zealand-based TAB by signing an agreement that will secure hundreds of millions of dollars for horse racing and sport.

Minister’s approval of the agreement:

Kieran McAnulty, the Minister for Racing, reported on Tuesday that he had validated the agreement. In addition, the approval will allow Entain to acquire the day-to-day management of New Zealand’s only wagering agency for 25 years. In this regard, McAnulty said: “This is one of the most significant days in New Zealand racing history. This deal will reverse falling revenues for racing and provides certainty over the coming years. I’m confident this agreement will help secure a solid future for the racing industry and sports in New Zealand through increased financial distributions to national sports organisations. Our racing industry is worth $1.6 billion to the economy and directly employs 14,000 New Zealanders. It’s reliant on TAB NZ distributions, and if they were allowed to fall that would hit the industry hard and jobs and revenue lost.”
However, the agreement had to offer few guarantees before McAnulty could validate it, one of the most important of which was that no new jobs would be lost in New Zealand, meaning that all of TAB’s 460 full-time workers are guaranteed job for a minimum of next two years.

The Racing Minister has also made sure the agreement caters to New Zealand racing fans with the TAB’s innovative Punters Promise, which guarantees fans a chance to support any horse and win at least $2000, which will definitely be kept. This caused a lot of concern among many punters as overseas bookmakers, especially those based out of the UK, were often quick to restrict or suspend consistently winning punters.

This agreement is similar similar to the Punters Promise, which means New Zealand punters will be good to go under Entain’s management and will be able to fully embrace the world-leading guarantee that will allows them to actually place bets instead of being banned from doing so.

$150 million bonus:

The agreement includes a $150 million bonus for New Zealand’s racing and sporting codes. However, the sporting codes will be disseminated among the 38 National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), with which the TAB has deals. In addition, the sports codes actually benefit because they paid nothing to set up the TAB, but will get $15 million during the next three years for their sports percentage of the TAB’s turnover. That involves turnover in overseas sports, which due to the aforementioned agreement, will have good payouts for NZ basketball, soccer and rugby league, each sport having high TAB turnover due to the high interest of bettors in their overseas competitions.

Of the total bonus of $150 million, nearly $100 million will be delivered to New Zealand racing codes over the next five years, in addition to increased returns guaranteed to nearly $200 million over five years. Additionally, money from this bonus will be set aside and used for harm minimization and problem gambling assistance. But that’s not all; as part will also be held in reserve by the TAB, a lesson learned the hard way when COVID-19 caused many problems in 2020, which caused many races and sports to cease, which further caused TAB to become nearly insolvent.

As for the racing code payout, it is important to provide the future of thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing as all three have problems with escalating costs due to the need for large infrastructure investment. That’s why paying $100 million payment on top of Entain’s guaranteed distributions during the next five years will offer racing a sustainable profit and a way forward following a drop in TAB distributions this year.

Day-to-day management of the TAB business:

Entain is headquartered in UK and manages, in addition to other brands, the biggest wagering agency Ladbrokes. However, the NZ TAB brand, very familiar to many New Zealanders, will be kept.

Although it’s called a “strategic partnership”, in reality it’s more of “an outsourcing of the day-to-day running of the TAB business”, which will come as a shock to many industry insiders. However, Entain will officially have TAB from June 1st. When it takes over, it will deliver global experience, scale and professionalism to the TAB, which will be paticularly important as the TAB has problems to ward off other big overseas wagering agencies from stealing New Zealand bookies, whose wagering with other bookmakers has cost New Zealand racing and sports more than $150 million in lost revenue annually. It has also invested very much in visual content in recent years and it is possible that New Zealand races will be promoted more extensively in Australia and overseas markets, increasing overall traffic. Additionally, it will reduce the ticket price for those bets, but the overall traffic in New Zealand will most certainly increase.

Provision:

Although the $150 million sign-on bonus and guaranteed returns during the next five years is a big boost for racing and sport New Zealand, there could be another big financial windfall.

In addition, the agreement includes a provision for one more payment of roughly $100 million if the New Zealand wagering market becomes geo-blocked, which means New Zealand punters could stop wagering with other overseas agencies. Furthermore, if this happens, it would make a monopoly for TAB/Entain, but geo-blocking will need legislative changes that may be difficult to implement prior to the election. However, the Minister gave the strongest indication so far that geo-blocking is close to reality.

In this regard, McAnulty said: “I am also pleased to announce that Cabinet has decided an in-principle agreement to extend TAB NZ’s monopoly for sports and racing betting to the online environment, subject to further work being done. The TAB was set up as a monopoly to fund New Zealand racing and sports. But the onset of unregulated online gambling changed the game and our racing and sports industry has been losing money ever since. Regulating this environment offers a significant new revenue source for local racing and sport, while also addressing the inherent risks in unregulated online gambling.”

Dutch Gambling Ads Ban 📰 Read the Latest News

Smartphone Cards and Dice

Online gambling regulation is vital, first and foremost for customer protection. Dutch nline casinos need to be brought in line, particularly in terms of advertising and the targeting of vulnerable people. In this post, we’ll look at the firm stance the Netherlands is taking with online casino operators.

A Quick History of Gambling in the Netherlands

The Netherlands has a long association with gambling and the gambling industry. Apparently, it’s been a popular pastime since the 14th century. The Netherlands is also home to the oldest running lottery in lottery history.

While gambling had been legal for many years, it wasn’t until the passing of the 1964 Betting and Gambling Act that there was proper regulation in place. The act licensed all forms of gambling, but it wasn’t until several decades later that an even bigger change came about.

In 2012, the Dutch Gaming Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) was established. This regulatory body regulates all gambling activities in the Netherlands, including all top land-based NL casinos. It is overseen by the Ministry of Justice and Security.

Fast forward another few years, and all Dutch casino sites came under the Dutch Gaming Authority’s regulatory banner following the enactment of the Remote Gambling Act on April 1st 2021. Six months later, remote gambling was officially legal in the Netherlands.

A Promise Was Made and Then Broken

Not long after the first online gambling licences were issued, political observers in the country started voicing their concerns about the increase in advertising. To combat these concerns, gambling companies in the Netherlands promised to reduce ” untargeted” advertisements. In addition, they promised not to show gambling acts on TV channels before 10:00 p.m.

Despite promising to moderate the number of advertisements, they were being seen in bus shelters, online, along the highway, and on TV. According to a report from market researcher Nielsen, a third more was being spent on advertising than the previous year. This amounted to almost 15 million euros extra.

With gambling operators failing to regulate their own ads, Franc Weerwind, the Dutch minister for legal protection, is asking for further regulations to be put in place. A Dutch gambling ads ban is just one proposal.

A Dutch Gambling Ad Ban is Imminent

In the summer of 2022, Franc Weerwind announced plans to ban the first set of ads on January 1st, 2023. However, this Dutch gambling ad ban was eventually delayed because public consultations regarding the law were required.

The latest news in a ban on untargeted gambling ads should be in place by July 1st. If this happens, other planned bans will be delayed. If there are any further delays, the other bans will be postponed another 12 months or more.

Proposal for a “Two-Strikes-You’re-Out” Model

The Netherlands is keen to protect its youth from being bombarded with gambling content. A recent survey showed how much exposure young people had to online gambling advertising, with many minors encountering promotions on the radio and TV.

This raised concerns from Dutch lawmakers, and they proposed a Dutch gambling ads ban and other restrictions including, temporary licence suspensions for the big-time offenders.

It would involve a “two-strikes-you’re-out” model allowing the Netherlands to temporarily suspend operators should they be found to be promoting to young people and flouting the Dutch gambling ad ban more than twice.

Smartphone Online Casino

Weerwind suggested proportional enforcement of the rules and that local regulators should be allowed to correct licensees’ mistakes once they’d been identified. The minister also pointed out that conversation often leads to compliance. His proposal includes periodic penalty payments if necessary, and if a violator still failed to comply, there would be a chance of further fines.

However, he also suggested that the Kansspelautoriteit be given the power to prevent payment providers from accepting payments from non-compliant companies. He felt this would be a better option than the “two-strikes-you’re-out” model.

Is Overregulation the Answer?

The Netherlands remains steadfast in plans for the regulation of the online gambling market, but there have been suggestions that overregulation may be a step too far and that it’s a double-edged sword., according to affiliates.

Three affiliate companies wrote a letter to the Dutch House of Representatives Betstreet Boys, a famous podcast, also signed the letter.

The letter claimed that prohibiting stats and betting incentives forces local players to turn to the black market. In addition, the prohibition of gambling verticals and fan-favourite better markets does more harm than good. One example cited in the letter was a case in which a man in Belgium placed bets on behalf of Dutch citizens.

Weerwind also considers overregulation a counterproductive way of regulating the industry. He felt it undermines the relationship between operators and regulators and channels players toward the black market.

What Will Follow on From a Ban on Untargeted Gambling Ads?

Plans in the Netherlands to further regulate the gambling industry include bans on other forms of what is considered dangerous advertising. These bans, including an untargeted advertising ban, would be introduced gradually. Dangerous advertising includes sports sponsorships and TV sponsorships.

The ban on TV sponsorships is expected to come 12 months after the ban on untargeted gambling ads is implemented. A further 12 months from that, it will be time for the ban on sports sponsorships to be put in place.

Dutch Responsible Gambling Measures

Know When to Quit

While the measures above, which include a ban on untargeted gambling ads are being introduced to combat problem gambling, they’re not the only measures in place. The Dutch take gambling addiction very seriously and are dealing with current issues and restrictions with a multi-faceted approach.

One of the biggest assets when it comes to fighting gambling addiction, is the free problem gambling treatment that’s available in the country. It’s covered by health insurance, much the same as substance abuse.

Gamers experiencing gambling addiction also have access to support and assistance from several problem gambling treatment institutions. Below you’ll find a list of a few of those organisations and what you can expect.

  • Gokkeninfo.nl: This is a good place to start if you want to learn more about gambling or help someone you care about with a gambling problem. The site provides lots of information on gambling and gambling problems as well as useful tips and tricks to help keep gambling fun.
  • Gokkendebaas.nl: As well as lots of tips and advice, you can also follow a short self-help course. There’s also an active forum where you can hook up with other gamblers.
  • Agog.nl: Help is available if you’re a gambling addict or know someone who is. Groups meet weekly across the Netherlands.
  • Jellinek: This is a well-known counselling service in the Netherlands. Appointments with a counsellor can be made online.

At the end of the day, we have to hope the Dutch gambling ads ban will have a knock-on effect and reduce the number of people facing gambling addiction.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s (MGC) Investigations and Enforcement Bureau has fined MGM Springfield $45,000 for a range of underage gambling rules breaches.

Between June 2022 and December 2022, individuals who were younger than 21 years old were able to access the casino resort’s gaming floor and engage in gambling. MGM Springfield previously paid an $18,000 fine in 2021 and a $100,000 penalty in 2019 for similar infractions.

ongoing cooperation to put enhanced practices into place to prevent similar incidents in the future”

The Gaming Commission noted that the casino self-reported some of the incidents and will pay the fine. MGC Senior Enforcement Counsel Kathleen Kramer welcomes the casino’s “ongoing cooperation to put enhanced practices into place to prevent similar incidents in the future.” The MGC will monitor the property’s remedial and compliance steps going forward.

One of the changes that MGM Springfield is making to try to curtail the entry of underage people is the installation of a security station close to the South End Market food court and additional railings. It could also potentially alter the wide-open layout of the gaming floor, but it still needs to fully analyze access and fire safety repercussions.
