Caesars Offers Micro-Betting Through New Partnership with Simplebet

Caesars Offers Micro-Betting Through New Partnership with Simplebet

Caesars Entertainment is getting in on the latest trend in sports betting – micro-betting – with a brand-new multi-year partnership with leading micro-betting provider Simplebet.

Caesars Sportsbook Introduces Micro-Betting with New Partnership

Forbes reported that Caesars Entertainment has signed a partnership agreement with Simplebet, which will see Caesars Sportsbook enriched with real-money micro-betting.

This means that Caesars Sportsbook clients in all 17 US states where its mobile application is available will have the opportunity to place bets on all micro-events happening during matches from the NFL, NBA, NHL, college football, and basketball from December 15, while micro-bets on the MLB will be available once the season starts next year.

Caesars Sportsbook is the third major partner of Simplebet introducing micro-betting with the help of Simplebet’s products. The company has previously signed partnerships with DraftKings and bet365.

With the help of machine learning and automated processes, Simplebet is able to offer micro-betting, which turns every minute of any sports event into a betting opportunity.

Chris Bevilacqua, CEO of Simplebet, shared with Forbes that according to estimations micro-betting on a sports event is expected to bring in $1 billion in gross gaming revenue during 2023. He also noted that Simplebet is soon going to reach a sports betting handle of $1 billion through its partnerships with sportsbooks and the forecast is that the company will become profitable in 2023.

Bevilacqua said he is very excited to partner with Caesars as this will help micro-betting become even more popular. He also elaborated that micro-betting has completely changed the sports betting market and the attitude fans, sports betting operators and the media have toward live sports.

Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, also expressed his excitement about the new agreement with Simplebet noting that micro-betting is a novelty in sports betting, which customers want to have, so Casers is glad it can offer such products to its clients.

What is Micro-Betting?

Micro-betting is the latest trend in sports betting which is gaining more and more traction in the gambling industry with companies such as Simplebet and Betr revolutionizing the market.

Micro-betting allows bettors to place live-action in-game wagers on every event during a sports match, which is not necessarily connected to the final result. This could be the outcome of the next pitch in baseball or the outcome of the next free throw in basketball. The possibilities are practically limitless.

What is the most characteristic feature of micro-betting is that it is quick. The events bettors can place wagers on happen very fast so the bettors themselves have to be quick in placing their wagers. The results also come quickly making this form of sports betting intense and very exciting.

Kindred Group Distinguished as Top Employer in Sweden Once Again

Kindred Group Distinguished as Top Employer in Sweden Once Again

Kindred Group, one of Sweden’s leading gambling companies and a global iGaming behemoth, has been named a Career Company by Karriärföretagen and a recognized top employer in the country. The company has been featured in the organization’s Career Companies 2023 ranking and wins the distinction for the second year in a row, which is the result of the meticulous work Kindred has put into creating a friendly and inclusive work environment.

Kindred Group Grabs Important Accolades for Second Year in a Row

Karriärföretagen subjects any nominees for its Career Companies list to rigorous testing and selection, with expert panels featuring a qualified jury weighing in to announce the winners. Kindred, argue the judges, is a company that offers unique career and development opportunities to graduate students and young professionals, which has made the company stand out.

Karriärföretagen has considered other factors as well, such as social media activities overall company attractiveness and public perception, and available career pages on the Internet. Once a winner does not mean a repeat success, though, as Kindred Group and any other entity listed on the Career Companies list need to adhere to strict criteria to be awarded again.

In fact, 18 entities have fallen from the last list. Commenting on this distinction, Kindred Group tech employee experience lead Johan Engberg said that Kindred was immensely proud of the development and said that the company was working hard to provide everyone with a flying start in their careers, adding:

We want to offer our employees the right tools, optimal conditions, and challenges that allow people on-the-job development opportunities. This is crucial in the competitive Tech talent market.

Karriärföretagen also hailed Kindred Group’s efforts over the past months and said that the entity is a committed employer that “does impressive employer branding work.” There is a distinct commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the group, the organization added, that makes Kindred Group a worthwhile candidate for the Career Companies 2023 list.

WPT World Championship Bubble Looms; Lynn Gilmartin Still Standing

WPT World Championship Bubble Looms; Lynn Gilmartin Still Standing

Two days into the WPT World Championship and there are just 29 more spots left until the money bubble pops. Among the 399 players still in the mix is long-time World Poker Tour anchor Lynn Gilmartin, who bagged 62 big blinds.

Gilmartin, who resides in Australia and has been one of the most recognizable members of the WPT staff since 2013, is seeking her first ever WPT cash. She’ll likely have to hang on for a couple hours on Friday to make it happen, but she’s in a good spot.

Where the Tournament Stands

Day 2 of the $10,400 buy in tournament concluded at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night at the Wynn Las Vegas. The field, which originally began with 2,960 entrants across three Day 1 starting flights, lost about two-thirds of the players who returned to action for Day 2.

With a smidge over $29 million in the prize pool and over $4 million going to the winner, the stress level for the remaining players will rise over the next couple of days, starting right off the bat at noon PT on Friday, especially for those with small stacks who will be sweating out that bubble.

In total, 370 players will be paid and a minimum cash is good for $17,400. Reaching the money in one of the largest poker tournaments ever is quite an accomplishment and will be a sigh of relief to those who make it that far. But there’s potential life-changing money at stake coming in a couple days. All six players at the final table, which takes place Dec. 20, will have a guaranteed payday of over $1 million.

Who’s in, Who’s Out

A full list of chip counts weren’t available at the time of publishing, but we do know the chip leader is Adrian Sorel State, who ended Day 2 with 2,400,000 chips (160 big blinds). Andrew Crookston is in second place at 2,200,000. The session was unkind to some big name pros and wonderful to others.

Among those who couldn’t make it through the day include Phil Hellmuth, Darren Elias, Joe Cada, Ebony Kenney, David Williams, and Justin Bonomo.

There were a number of familiar faces who reached Day 3. That list includes Daniel Negreanu, a two-time WPT champion, who finished with 440,000 and said on Twitter that he was “focused” and played great.

Negreanu was once among the top World Poker Tour performers back in the day but only has one Main Tour cash since 2015. These days, he doesn’t travel often outside Las Vegas to play poker.

Brad Owen, a WPT ambassador, is also hanging in there right around Negreanu’s stack. The popular poker vlogger bagged about 30 big blinds and will head to Day 3 among the group of players who will be sweating out that money bubble.

WPT World Championship Day 2 Top Chip Counts

Place Player Stack
1 Adrian Sorel State 2,400,000
2 Andrew Crookston 2,200,000
3 Lucas Foster 2,135,000
4 Isaac Kempton 2,100,000
5 Adam Hendrix 2,055,000

KSA Investigating Operators Over Responsibility Violations

KSA Investigating Operators Over Responsibility Violations

The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Netherlands’ gambling authority, will investigate a bunch of operators that might have breached the social responsibility requirements by allowing players to lose a lot of money.

The KSA Is Investigating a Number of Operators

During a speech at the Amsterdam Gambling & Awareness Congress 2022 event, René Jansen, chairman of the Dutch regulator, confirmed that the KSA is investigating several operators who reportedly did not take sufficient care of their players. Because of that, the KSA will probe their businesses to see if that truly is the case.

Currently, the Netherlands requires all players to set deposit limits. However, there is no cap, allowing players to pick a limit that allows them to wager as much as they want. Previously, the Kansspelautoriteit warned its licensees not to abuse this system, lest there be consequences.

Jensen said that the KSA believes that some operators have allowed players to lose tens of thousands of euros in a short period of time. He noted that in some such cases, operators did not take decisive action to dissuade the players from their compulsive spending. The chair reaffirmed that the KSA will investigate whether operators truly protect their customers.

A Survey on Problem Gambling Rates Must Be Conducted

Jensen also spoke about the overall number of gamblers and said that it has increased since the Dutch iGaming market opened a year ago. He noted that there are currently around 563,000 active player accounts. Jensen pointed out that this number may not adequately represent the total number of players because some have numerous accounts.

As for gambling harm rates, unfortunately, Jensen didn’t have any information as, according to him, there are still no reliable statistics. However, this will soon change as the National Alcohol and Drugs Information System will publish the number of people being treated for addiction in the near future.

While this figure would help to understand the impact online gambling has had on the Dutch market, the results might, once again, not be fully reliable because not all problem gamblers seek help, Jensen said. According to him, a large-scale survey might be needed to explore the full extent of iGaming’s effect on problem gambling rates.

A Boom in Gambling Ads

Another important thing Jensen talked about was gambling ads and the vast quantity of gambling content Dutch people are being bombarded with. He noted that the legalization of online gambling definitely impacted the number of ads broadcast to Dutch citizens. He said that everyone who watches TV or uses the internet should have seen them.

Jensen attributed this to the novelty of online gambling in the Netherlands and companies’ desire to channel customers toward their platforms. The chair concluded that the government would intervene if it determines that it needs to. The Netherlands has already banned gambling ads featuring celebrities and is set to soon ban untargeted ads as well.

2022’s AFF Championship Features New NFT-Based Project

2022’s AFF Championship Features New NFT-Based Project

Gamification solution developer Low6 joined forces with Web 3.0 technology company Be Media and marketing agency SPORTFIVE to create a new NFT-based fantasy soccer game ahead of the upcoming 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship. The companies will produce digital collectibles featuring highlights from the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup. The NFTs will seamlessly integrate with Low6’s UltimateFan app, driving player engagement and showcasing the untapped potential of Web 3.0 technology.

Fans Will Collect Their Own Game Highlights

Be Media’s experience with cutting-edge blockchain technology will allow the company to capture the upcoming game’s most exciting plays and mint them as NFTs on the Polygon blockchain. The novel content will make its way into the hands of fans via the AFF Championship’s official Onside digital collection, allowing them to own game-making plays.

Be Media CEO and founder Jordan Fogarty lauded the efforts of his partners in realizing this ambitious project, expressing his excitement to provide fans with a new level of engagement.

We are proud to have the opportunity to introduce… the new and evolving universe of Web 3.0 products while galvanizing football and blockchain enthusiasts.

Jordan Fogarty, Be Media founder and CEO

The Onside platform will reward users with NFTs throughout the Championship, running from 20 December to 16 January 2023. The collaboration marks a concerted effort to tap into the passionate ASEAN soccer community and promote this new form of engagement.

NFTs Allow Easy Collaborations

Onside NFTs will also integrate with Low6’s popular UltimateFan mobile app. The gamification company’s project features fantasy soccer contests with cards representing real-life soccer players. Each user assembles a team with their available cards. It is then rated based on their chosen players’ real-world performance.

Low6 users will be able to apply the newly announced NFTs to their collection, boosting their score and chance of victory. Company CEO Jamie Mitchell regarded the upcoming initiative with optimism, commenting that he was thrilled to be part of such an innovative project.

We’re confident that our leading sports game will provide a hugely engaging experience for fans…, showcasing the value of NFTs within the gaming space.

Jamie Mitchell, Low6 CEO

As evidenced by Low6’s integration of Onside NFTs, the blockchain-based system allows an easy transition to other similar platforms. While the technology had a rocky start and continues to draw controversy, this latest collaborative project is evidence that NFTs are here to stay. The AFF Championship will serve as another meaningful benchmark to determine whether the new technology will engage sports fans or whether the majority will stick to familiar ways of enjoying the content.

WPT Season 21 First Half Schedule is Out; Rolling Thunder is Back

WPT Season 21 First Half Schedule is Out; Rolling Thunder is Back

The first half of the 2023 World Poker Tour schedule has been released, and it includes a return stop at the popular Thunder Valley Casino, along with three other destinations beginning in April.

Now is as good of a time as any to reveal the upcoming schedule. All eyes are on the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas, a historic $15 million guaranteed tournament that ended up surpassing $29 million. The WPT couldn’t possibly have scripted a better way to wrap up the tour’s 20th season.

Heading Back to Cali

As soon as the record-breaking Wynn event concludes Dec. 20, the focus will shift to Season 21, which begins in the spring in a familiar spot that hasn’t hosted a WPT Main Tour event since the pandemic.

The $3,500 WPT Rolling Thunder at Thunder Valley Casino in Northern California kicks off April 1-4, right at the start of baseball season. Next up is a trip clear across the country to beautiful and sunny South Florida for the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown April 28-May 2.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida has played host to some of the biggest events in the world the past few years. It’s become a favorite among World Poker Tour regulars due to the hospitality of the poker staff, and of course the gorgeous beaches nearby and warm weather.

Wrapping Up the Schedule

The third stop for Season 21 will be to Durant, Oklahoma, a small town near the Texas border. More specially, the WPT Choctaw, a $3,800 buy in Championship event May 5-8. Choctaw Casino will play host to its eighth Main Tour event. Earlier this year, Chance Kornuth took down the Choctaw tournament for $486,600, his first WPT title. In doing so, he helped raise thousands of dollars for beloved poker dealer Randy Gordon’s cancer treatment.

Later in May (21st-25th), the tour will is going back, back to Cali, Cali for the $5,250 WPT Gardens Poker Championship at Gardens Casino in the Los Angeles area. Choctaw, Seminole, and Gardens Main Tour events will be filmed for television to air on Bally Sports.

“Coming off an incredible 20th-anniversary season for WPT, we are looking forward to its progression into 2023,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Players have much to anticipate during Season XXI, as we have established some new partnerships and continued our relationships with longstanding staples of the Tour.”

The second half schedule has not been finalized and will be released sometime next year.
