Patriot is another rescue from the New Holland auction.  He was rescued by E.P.O.N.A. for the Exceller Fund.  Patriot is a black Thoroughbred gelding directly off the track.  His tattoo is not legible and therefore his history is very much a mystery.  He is estimated to be approximately seven to eight years old.  Patriot had a fracture in his left front ankle.  It was a clean break and a fairly new injury - no doubt the reason he was at the auction.  Patriot has undergone surgery and a pin has been placed in his ankle.  Patriot has recovered very well and is currently being ridden lightly, his prognosis is good for light flat work or pleasure trail riding. He will require constant shoeing for support to his ankle. 

                We are pleased to announce that Patriot now Denali has been adopted by Ruth Merk and her family Cassy of Andover, MA. Denali will remain at E.P.O.N.A. for a period of time for additional instruction.
