Nuvei’s Q3 Results Exceed Expectations

Nuvei’s Q3 Results Exceed Expectations

Montreal-headquartered global payments technology company Nuvei has reported its revenue for the third quarter of the year. The company posted a slight quarterly year-on-year increase but was negatively affected by currency exchange rates.

Nuvei’s Revenues Are Favorable

Nuvei said that it earned revenue of $197.1 million for the period, which represents a 7% increase on 2021’s results. Despite the favorable number, Nuvei reported that its revenue was negatively affected by changes in foreign currency exchange rates.

Meanwhile, net income plummeted to $13 million because of a $22.6 million increase in share-based payments. Adjusted EBITDA, on the other hand, experienced an ever-so-slight increase, going from $80.9 million in Q3 2021 to $81.2 million in Q3 2022.

Overall, Nuvei has so far recorded revenue of $623 million for the nine months ended September 30 200. This represents a 22% increase and is considered favorable despite the currency-related headwinds. Net income for the nine months decreased from $94.7 million to $52.6 million, reflecting a continuous trend. AEBITDA has so far increased by 16% and is currently $265.6 million.

Q3 Saw the Company Improve Its Products

Q3 was also a period of improvement for Nuvei. The company successfully enhanced its platform architecture and infrastructure, allowing it to support a higher number of transactions per second. Nuvei also grew its alternative payment methods portfolio to 586, allowing it to suit the needs of many companies across the world. This is in line with the company’s ambition to expand globally and serve multiple markets at the same time.

Furthermore, the payments provider enhanced its payment orchestration platform with a self-service routing manager. In Q3, Nuvei also launched Nuvei for Platforms, helping it boost its marketplace offering. The company released new products, such as an Account Updater for Europe, Mastercard tokenization and Visa Account Funding Transaction Support.

Lastly, Nuvei enhanced its team with new specialists and received licenses to operate in Maryland and Kansas.

Philip Fayer Praised the Results

Philip Fayer, Nuvei’s chief executive officer and chairman, said that his team is very pleased with the results for the quarter. Despite the problems with the conversion rates, the company’s results exceeded the financial outlook Nuvei previously provided.

We’re executing on our strategic initiatives and with the momentum we’re experiencing in the business year-to-date through October, we are increasing certain metrics as well as reaffirming the outlook for the full year 2022. We are also reiterating our medium and long-term targets.

Philip Fayer, CEO and chair, Nuvei

In other news, a few weeks ago, Nuvei inked a payment agreement with Lottomatica.

Players to wear yellow laces in support of ban on gambling adverts in football | Football

British footballers will stage their first on-pitch protest against the effects of gambling harm this weekend, with more than 100 players showing support for a ban on advertising by bookmakers.

Players in FA Cup, Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup, Women’s Championship and non-league matches will wear yellow laces as they attempt to heighten the pressure on government to take action.

The League One side Forest Green will be part of the protest during their first round FA Cup first-round tie at South Shields, a match being shown live on the BBC. The club’s owner, Dale Vince, said his club were proud to support the initiative, organised by the pressure group The Big Step.

“Gambling companies are exploiting football and football fans, making huge profits at the expense of people’s lives,” Vince said. “Their overwhelming presence in our national sport is hyper-normalising an addictive harmful product, with only self-regulation to protect the millions of young fans exposed. This is something Forest Green Rovers stands against.

“We will proudly wear yellow laces this weekend to reinforce our support for the campaign to end all gambling advertising in football.”

Also wearing the laces will be Lewes Women, Glasgow City and the men’s non-league sides Dulwich Hamlet, Billericay Town, Llantwit Major, Headingley AFC and, on Tuesday, the Lewes men’s team. League Two Tranmere will warm up in yellow T-shirts before Saturday’s FA Cup first-round match against Carlisle.

The Big Step calls for an end to gambling advertising and sponsorship in football, a sport where young fans and viewers can be subjected to more than 700 gambling-related messages during a televised Premier League match. Recent Gambling Commission data showed that while overall levels of participation in gambling had remained stable over the past year, the percentage of 16- to 24-year-olds who identified as problem gamblers had more than trebled.

A review of gambling laws was commissioned by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in 2020, with a ban on bookmakers’ logos on football shirts one mooted outcome. Two years later a white paper proposing reforms has been delayed four times and is yet to be published.

James Grimes, the founder of the Big Step and a former gambling addict, said: “This weekend is a bold reminder to the government that campaigners for gambling reform and our supportive football clubs are not going away until people can go to a match and support their heroes without being encouraged to gamble.”

Adda52 Extends FC Goa Sponsorship Deal

Adda52 Extends FC Goa Sponsorship Deal

Adda52.com, the gambling firm behind what it claims to be “the best card game site in India,” has announced an extension of its co-sponsorship deal with FC Goa. The operator is seeking to expand its presence in professional soccer and promote the sport.

FC Goa Still has Adda52’s Backing

Adda52’s goal is to improve its sports footprint while nurturing the pro sports ecosystem. It believes that soccer is one of the best skill-based sports and compared its complexity with that of poker.

In an official statement, the Indian operator explained that while they seem simple on the surface, both poker and soccer require a profound understanding of the game and polished skills to play at a pro level. It emphasized that to be a professional at any, one would need to have the “mental fortitude” to withstand the pressure, as well as the cunning to read the opponent’s mind.

Because of that, Adda52 is happy to continue supporting FC Goa and show its commitment to Indian soccer. This agreement extension will notably see the operator support the club for the third consecutive Indian Super League (ISL) season.

The Soccer Club Is Happy to Have Adda52 by Its Side

Both parties addressed the renewed agreement. Ravi Puskur, FC Goa’s vice president, noted that the upcoming ISL season is surely going to be a very exciting one. Because of that, he is happy to have the backing of an influential local brand such as Adda52.

Puskur concluded that he appreciates the partnership with the operator and hopes that there would be more future opportunities for the two parties to work together.

Meanwhile, Krishnendu Guha, Adda52.com’s chief revenue officer, said that his team remains adamant about supporting pro sports in every way it can. Guha noted that games are more than just a pastime. In his words, all types of skill games are a way of life. His team is, therefore, committed to offering its full support to the pro sports ecosystem and FC Goa in particular.

Adda52.com is honored to join hands with FC Goa as a sponsor and help the team on its path to become a source of talent for the national team. The new season has begun and we can’t wait to watch FC Goa win the championship.

Krishnendu Guha, CRO, Adda52

Adda52 is ambitious of nurturing FC Goa into a professional team that supplies players to India’s national team. Its dedication to sports, however, doesn’t end here as the company has other existing agreements with teams and organizations from other sports as well.

In June, Delta Corp, the ownership company of Adda52’s parent firm, Gaussian Network, opened a new casino resort in South Goa. The property opened its doors to gamblers on June 2, attesting to the company’s growth drive.

Colorado Records Betting Handle of Over $450M in September

Colorado Records Betting Handle of Over $450M in September

Player spending on sports betting in Colorado has gone up 10.3% on a year-on-year basis. The monthly handle reached $450.2 million in September 2022 compared to $408.3 million in September 2021. By comparison, Colorado’s accepted wagers reached $290.1 million in August 2022. Online bettors also wagered $445.6 million this September, while retail sportsbooks recorded $4.6 million from all locations spread throughout the Centennial State.

Gross Gaming Revenue Went Up 126%

Colorado’s gross gaming revenue reached the $51.3 million mark, signaling a 126% increase from $22.7 million recorded last September. In August 2022, the state recorded $25.9 million in gross gaming revenue, which means the September 2022 figure went up 98.1.

As for revenue from online wagering, official Colorado announced a total of $50.7 million. Out of it, $659,647 was connected to retail wagering in September. Soccer was also the most popular sport chosen by bettors for September, mostly as a result of the increased interest in the fresh National Football League season that was initiated at the beginning of the month. Accordingly, Colorado bettors chose to spend a grand total of $145.7 million in close to 7,500 wagers on professional soccer. Bets on college soccer reached the $52.7 million mark, while baseball bets totaled $83.2 million. At the same time, combination and parlay wagers gathered $75.3 million.

As for sports betting taxes, the state attracted $3 million to its treasury in September 2022, marking a 518.9% increase compared to last September’s figure of $483,048. The win percentage for licensed sports betting recorded a steady 11.40%, marking a new record for the highest win on a monthly basis.

Baseball Wagers Came in Second

As for baseball wagers, they recorded $83,2 million from bets, whereas National Collegiate Athletic Association Football was ranked third with $52,6 million. Finally, tennis reached the fourth position after gathering $33 million in wagers in September, while basketball came in on the fifth position with $21,6 million wagered by bettors passionate about the sport. At the end of September, the official Fiscal Year 2021-22 financial report issued by the Colorado Department of Revenue revealed impressive revenue for the state. The growth was a result of the different legislative initiatives that allowed operators to gain better control over their businesses.

Three years ago in November, voters in Colorado passed Proposition DD which turned Colorado into one of the US states that would enable people to make legal wagers on sporting events. This was possible as a result of the Supreme Court taking down the law banning sports betting in the majority of states. Together with the legislative bill issued by the Colorado General Assembly in the spring of 2019 and Proposition DD, the state’s Division of Gaming and Limited Gaming Control Commission turned into the statutory authority that would oversee regulation regarding sports betting. Colorado officially legalized and regulated sports betting on May 1, 2020.
