Another change is the vast gaming choices – one should never limit oneself to just a single type of game. We are ready to share our thoughtfully selected list of legal games in the Netherlands for 2023:

Above all, doing your homework on a gambling website before signing in and sharing vital data is essential. Whatever your selecting criteria are, make sure you check the licences, the payment options, and the legal online casino games’ availability. There are things to know before creating an NL online casino account, which will ease the process and keep you from harm’s way.

Slots as Legal Online Gambling Games in the Netherlands

Each gambling venue in the Netherlands can impress you with an acceptable range of games provided by leading companies aiming for extraordinary quality and interesting features. Reel-spinning titles come with many elements, assembling a product that can cater to your every gaming desire. Take a look at the main components in a fair slot title offered to the Dutch by legit casino sites:

📊 RTP Shows the return to player percentage of each game
🎁 Features Important elements implemented into the gameplay
⚙️ Provider The company behind the game’s creation
🎨 Theme The main topic subordinating the nature of each slot
📱 Mobile It is essential to know if the slot software supports mobile usage

The slot selection for Dutch players consists of many themes and medium to high RTP values. The thrill is there, and the results are unbiased with smooth mobile gameplay. The top online casino slots in the Netherlands have crisp graphics, rewarding bonus rounds and rich elements. The diverse game structures by many software companies add to the gaming experience.

Poker in Netherlands

Poker enthusiasts will be pleased to read that their preferred gambling segment is legal in the country, based on the latest law-related updates. Of course, that is a fact only for regulated providers. As part of the legal game collections for Dutch players, the category has interesting forms feeding your interest.

Among the different poker variants, Dutch players can take part in several available tournaments with intriguing prizes and regulations. Operators also present exclusive poker offers with competitive odds revitalising your will to win. In addition, poker is among the leading contributors to your favourite NL online casino with low wagering requirements. It can even help you fulfil them much faster.

Casino Table Game Options – Online Games that Pay Real Money

Casino table games are probably the most favourite legal games in the Netherlands. The sense of excitement kept them essential for decades, and now available online is a thrill seeked by many. According to a recent study done in resonance with the latest Dutch gambling laws, the most popular Dutch casino game is roulette. You have a high RTP% and an intuitive interface in place.

🎡 Roulette Attractive nature pushed it to the most popular table game among Dutch players
♠️ Blackjack Intriguing gameplay allowing players from the Netherlands to use strategies
♣️ Baccarat Here fans of the fast game pace will be thrilled and will enjoy it
🎲 Craps More of a fun gateway dice game based on luck
🎲 Sic Bo Easy game with every rule illustrated to be visible while playing

The runner-up in this category staying really close is blackjack. The game has its fair share of fans in the Netherlands. Even though the rules are more or less alike, different versions tend to tweak the rules to present more attractive gameplay. The second in line has the highest RTP rates among the casino table games, effortlessly alluring more fans. It is among the reasons some of the highest NL gambling wins were generated over the years.

Sports Betting Options

Perceived as a game of chance, sports betting also receives the green light under the Remote Gambling Act in the Netherlands. Consequently, you can enjoy some fantastic sports betting platforms, along with the casino sections. Such an element is ideal for those interested in sports and gambling combinations, where you can reap the rewards of your ample sporting knowledge.

A Sports Betting Sign Around a Mobile Phone

Betting on sports is something Dutch gamblers look for online. That explains the operators’ response – their assortment, different tournaments, plus leading international championships are pretty remarkable and pleasing. Nowadays, the most popular form of sports gambling in NL is mainly football matches. Keep in mind that it’s typical for casinos in the Netherlands to even come with deluxe sports betting offers.

Fantasy Sports

The Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) betting opportunities in the Netherlands are provided by offshore websites, as there are no specific Dutch DFS laws on the matter. The popularity of such betting products is increasing, and there are fans of many fantasy leagues. Given the interest in football, those would be Eredivisie, Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A. Players show interest and want access to more legal games in the Netherlands.

E-Sports in the Netherlands

E-sports is not among the legit online games that pay real money. Such betting is considered illegal as authorities view it as not an actual sport, despite the recent revolution in the Dutch gambling industry. There are no legal websites providing e-sports odds. Additionally, many licensed sports betting platforms include such opportunities but are out of your reach in the Netherlands.

The Sign Illegal on a Blurred Background of a Room with Computers

Keep in mind that VPN attempts will not succeed. Be that as it may, the offshore sites might be a tempting opportunity, but they probably won’t actively target Dutch gamers. While NL gambling authorities take a dim view of those, many fans find it a possible solution. As a rule, only use websites with some official licensing, as many scams offer e-sports odds but give you nothing in return.

Live Casino Games from NL

Technology has risen significantly in the past years allowing players to experience unforgettable gaming thrills. Experts explain that live casino gambling is the hottest trend to hit online casinos. State-of-the-art innovations in tech and streaming allow Dutch players to play in real-time with professional dealers from home. Live games are streamed from studios or directly from some of the most glamorous gambling resorts worldwide. Here are some tips on what to look for in a live casino:

  • 1️⃣ Tip: look for a licensed casino
  • 2️⃣ Tip: make sure it has a rich live games catalogue
  • 3️⃣ Tip: check for a neat sign-up bonus offer
  • 4️⃣ Tip: go for websites that are easy to use
  • 5️⃣ Tip: look for good customer service

Once you find a gambling operator ticking all boxes, the Netherlands’ live and legal online casino games will offer many valuable features while playing. Chatting with other players and interacting with the croupier are among the prefered ones. Some casinos even have a dedicated live sports betting section, where you can track and gamble on matches as they unfold. Some websites even come with exclusive sports betting bonuses.

Regardless of the online casino in the Netherlands the quality of the gameplay depends on your internet speed. Live streams require a strong connection. In case you play on mobile, you should ensure you have good internet to load and play legal online gambling games in the Netherlands with live dealers.

Pari-Mutuel NL Betting

Pari-mutuel betting is strictly controlled by authorities such as the Kansspelautoriteit, partnering with legal betting operators worldwide. That way, the range of available races grows and adds new possibilities for gamblers in the Netherlands. The legit local providers of such gaming types pay a part of every bet in contributing to the preservation of Dutch trotting and racing.

An Ongoing Horse Race

For those of you not knowing what pari-mutuel betting is – it is a form of gambling with internal values that guarantees the sport’s integrity. The amounts wagered are added together and shared among the winners. That is done after the take-out of the operator, which is entirely independent of the result of the race.

Short-Odds Bingo

Short-odds bingo, despite lotteries and long-odds bingo, is among the legal game collection for Dutch players, approved by the Kansspelautoriteit. Such games include fewer balls left in the draw, so bingo options with a smaller number of balls left will increase your chances of winning. For example, your odds in the 10th draw are lower than your odds of winning in the 40th or 50th draw.

Exchange Betting

It includes sports betting plus diverse and legal online gambling games in the Netherlands. Legal gambling operators provide such betting types to add an exciting twist to their portfolios. A betting exchange platform enables trades on the outcome of certain games or events.

A Picture of Two Mobile Phones on a Football Pitch

It helps players bet against each other, acting as the house by setting odds for an event or staying on the user’s side and back the odds set by other participants on the exchange. The betting exchange is mainly used for sports, but you can also find legal online casino games in the Netherlands.

DappRadar Says Half of Blockchain Activity Is Based on Gaming

DappRadar Says Half of Blockchain Activity Is Based on Gaming

This gives a fresh perspective on how big web3 and blockchain gaming technologies have become over the past months. According to DappRadar, there were more than 773,000 unique active wallets in January 2023, a number that is still slightly behind the results from December 2022 when gaming wallets were estimated at 767,000.

Blockchain Gaming Is on the Rise

In other words, DappRadar claims that half of what is happening on the blockchain is associated with gaming. Some projects have been particularly popular, too, with Axie Infinity, a Web3 game, and The Sandbox, a metaverse platform, proving exceptional initiatives and drivers of interest.

According to DappRadar, the reason why blockchain gaming is picking right now is that a lot of these Web3 games are actually making it into the mainstream. The games used to be a niche, but they are now proving to the mass gamer that they bring value and offer a variety of captivating features and gameplay that is usually associated with quality products.

Many of these games are also available for free, which is another contributing factor. Axie Infinity, for example, allows players to earn in-game currency that has real-world value. Some players in the Philippines were able to cash in on their Axie Infinity and buy real estate while the government debated whether it should tax their earnings.

In the meantime, DappRadar offered a quick comparison of the top gaming protocols by the number of unique active wallets, juxtaposing December, and January’s results. WAX stood on top of that chart with 331,000 active wallets in January and 332,000 active wallets in December, so a small overall dip in the number of players by 0.09%.

Still, Hive, another protocol, surged on monthly basis by 16% to 183,000 in January compared to 156,000 in December. Polygon hit 138,000 active wallets in January, up 11.29%, from 124,000 in December last year. BNB Chain saw the biggest contraction in overall number with 97,000 active wallets in January as opposed to 130,000 wallets in December.

Web3 to Be Even Bigger as Regulatory Opposition Lessens

Part of this success is also owing to the increase in metaverse projects in the first month. Despite major losses across their metaverse divisions, companies such as Meta have beckoned that they are confident in the vertical’s future success.

Tencent has just hosted its Web3 summit in Singapore, defying Chinese restrictions on blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, which is beginning to crack as the recently proposed consultation rules in Hong Kong suggest.

UK Government Ready to Ban Gambling Sponsors in EPL, but Not in Every Sport

Neal Maupay of Everton FC

Ending a long controversy

The UK government is finally ready to bring an end to the drawn-out saga involving gambling sponsors in the English Premier League (EPL).

prohibit gaming companies from securing front-of-shirt sponsorship for all 20 EPL teams

A soon-to-be-released white paper on gambling reform that was first expected during former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s tenure is not expected to call for a banishment on all gambling sponsorships in sports. However, it will prohibit gaming companies from securing front-of-shirt sponsorship for all 20 EPL teams.

Eight teams currently employ front-of-shirt gambling sponsors and would be forced to find new partners if the vote passes.

The future of EPL gambling sponsors

The idea of the government and the Premier League itself banning gambling sponsors has been floated heavily for the past year or so.

Ex-PM Johnson had a majority of the plan agreed to before he stepped down from office on July 7 of last year. His immediate replacement, Liz Truss, showed little interest in the matter during her 44-day tenure before she, too, stepped down.

the new culture minister could need time to get up to speed

Now, with new PM Rishi Sunak in position, and despite a recent reshuffling of his cabinet, the highly anticipated white paper should be ready for a review in a few weeks. Outbound gambling minister Paul Scully said the new culture minister could need time to get up to speed before the white paper can be publicized.

Last summer, it was reported that teams would support a ban on gambling sponsors if certain criteria were met. The teams wanted a three-year transition period to ensure that their books were not flipped on their heads and they had adequate time to find new sponsors. They also wanted recognition from the government that they were taking on financial loss and could not support lower soccer leagues to the same degree.

Last spring, 20 English Football League (EFL) and non-league teams wrote to the government calling for a ban on betting sponsors. An anti-gambling group also made its voice heard in the summer calling for a similar restriction.

Objections to a ban

A discussion on gambling reform has been in the works since as early as 2020. Even now that it seems as close as ever, there are still several major problems present.

The biggest roadblock involves the teams that currently enlist gambling sponsors. Invoking a ban immediately could significantly hurt these teams’ finances and lead to a ripple effect that harms the lower tiers of English soccer.

“The commercial reality is that to teams outside the top six, such sponsors offer clubs twice as much financially as non-gambling companies,” Aston Villa’s fan consultation group said in a letter after meeting the Villa CEO Christian Purslow in January.

Another problem involves the future of promoted teams. Middlesbrough, currently third in the Championship, has been sponsored by Unibet for years. Their arrangement would not only be put into jeopardy but outright outlawed, should the club achieve promotion to the EPL this season.

While the drama continues to swirl, the heat is being turned up on the pitch. League leaders Arsenal regained a two-point lead over second-place Manchester City and still has a game in hand. According to FanDuel, however, City (-110) is still expected to win the league, while the Gunners are just behind at +100.

Manchester United is only five points off the top and could also stick its nose in the title race. Tottenham, Newcastle United, and the surprising Fulham squad are all challenging for the final Champions League spot, but surprisingly, eighth place Liverpool is the sportsbooks’ pick to secure that spot.

New Bill Seeks Sports Betting Exclusivity for Minnesota Tribes

New Bill Seeks Sports Betting Exclusivity for Minnesota Tribes

A newly-proposed sports betting bill to the Senate in Minnesota seeks to grant the state’s tribes exclusive rights to offer both brick-and-mortar and mobile sports betting.

The New Bill Proposal

Introduced by Rep. Zach Stephenson, the proposal will authorize Minnesota’s eleven tribes to operate sports wagering, allowing residents to place bets at their tribal casinos or anywhere in the state on a mobile app but would exclude from participation professional sports teams and the two racetracks.

Online sportsbook operators such as FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars and others will get their fair share of the future legalized sports betting market in partnership with one of the tribes. Each tribe will be allowed to partner with only one commercial sports betting operator.

The tax rate on operator revenue would be 10% and is expected to generate between $10 million and $12 million a year for the state, 20% of which will be allocated for regulations and consumer protection, 40% will go towards problem gambling, and another 40% will be used to fund youth sports and other youth programs, prioritizing communities with high youth crime rates.

While presenting the bill, Stephenson outlined that the main purpose of the bill is not to raise money for the state but rather legalize a market that is now illicit and give Minnesotans “the same opportunities” their neighbors in Iowa and Wisconsin already have.

MIGA and Professional Sports Teams

Historically an opposition to any form of gambling expansion, the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association (MIGA) expressed its support for the bill in a letter to Stephenson.

MIGA’s executive director, Andy Platto, wrote in the letter that the proposal “would not only support [the] Tribes but would also provide a well-regulated and accessible market for the state’s sports bettors and a competitive market that is important to our state’s professional sports teams and market partners.”

Professional sports teams in the state also expressed their support for the bill, with team officials from the Timberwolves, Lynx, Wild, Vikings, Twins, and United FC issuing a joint statement, which read:

As you know, the Tribes and Teams have worked together for many months to find alignment on a bill that will create a vibrant market while providing for consumer protections. We greatly value our tribal partnerships, our opportunity to work with MIGA, and greatly respect Minnesota’s tribal nations.

MIGA letter excerpt

Racetracks Believe They Should Be Included

Representatives of the two racetracks that would be left behind were not convinced that the bill would reflect the interests of tribal government, racetracks and sports teams, and a spokesperson for Canterbury Park urged legislators to create a long-term plan that will suit all three interest groups.

Running Aces directly opposed the proposal, arguing that the racetrack should be able to offer sports wagering on the same level as the state’s tribal casinos and that any bill which excludes the racetrack from sports betting would jeopardize the future of the horse racing industry in Minnesota.

The bill which currently resides with the House’s Commerce Finance and Policy Committee is not expected to be up to a floor voting before April as it still needs approval from six House committees.

Caesars Sportsbook Goes Live ahead of Massachusetts Market Launch

Caesars Sportsbook Goes Live ahead of Massachusetts Market Launch

Caesars Entertainment announced that starting today fans of sports betting in Massachusetts can download the Caesars Sportsbook app and take advantage of a special early sign-up offer.

Mobile and Retail Sportsbook

The launch of the Caesars Sportsbook app is offering bettors a glimpse of its functionalities, including a variety of deposit and payout options, user-friendly wagering features, lightning-fast scoreboards, expanded in-play betting menu, same-game parlays, and thousands of additional markets.

“The launch of our mobile app is an excellent complement to the planned Caesars Sportsbook at historic Raynham Park,” commented the president of Caesars Digital, Eric Hession, confident that “this combination will deliver the most rewarding sports wagering experience in the Commonwealth” and allow the company to live to its motto by treating “all sports fans like royalty.”

Caesars Entertainment and Raynham Park teamed up last month with plans to open one of the biggest sports betting destinations nationwide, and once approved by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Caesars Sportsbook at Raynham Park will become one of the largest free-standing race and pari-mutuel simulcasting establishments in the US. The partners are planning to open a temporary sportsbook this spring before being able to offer their permanent retail sportsbook later this year.

Massachusetts residents who elect to wager with the Caesars Sportsbook will gain access to the operator’s industry-leading rewards loyalty program, Caesars Rewards, earning Tier Credits with every wager they place.

By converting Tier Credits into Reward Credits, bettors will then be able to exchange their play for extraordinary experiences at various Caesars’ destinations in the US, bonus cash in the Caesars Sportsbook app and world-class culinary experiences.

Early Sign-Up Bonus Available

To celebrate the launch of the Caesars Sportsbook app in Massachusetts and to entice bettors to its sports betting offering, the operator is offering residents in the Bay State an early sign-up bonus of $100 in Bonus Bets.

The bonus money will be split into four equal parts with the first $25 for betting available on the day Massachusetts goes live, and the remaining three given on a weekly basis thereafter.

The app is also providing its users with tools such as Deposit Limits, Spending Limits, Daily Time Limits, and Cool Off Time Limits to allow them to stay in control of their play and affirm Caesars’ commitment to responsible gaming.

True to its purpose to keep its customers educated, Caesars Sportsbook teamed with Covers.com ahead of Super Bowl LVII for the latest episode of the Sharp 600 podcast, placing the focus on game lines and player props as these were expected to participate heavily during the game.
