PokerStars Play Brings Themed Thrills To 6 Player Spin & Go Tourneys

PokerStars Play Brings Themed Thrills To 6 Player Spin & Go Tourneys

The Six-Player Spin & Go is a brand new take on Texas hold’em tournaments from PokerStars Play.

PokerStars Play is a free-to-play poker and casino app available for both iOS and Android. The app allows players to take part in poker tournaments, play scratchers and slots, and chase casino jackpots all for free.

The Six-Player Spin & Go is similar to the more familiar Three-Player Spin And Go. Designed to balance fuller tables with fast-paced action — the six-max tournament is still a short enough table to fill quickly and keep players from having to wait around.

How The PokerStars Play Spin & Go Events Work

At the tourney level, the game is still very familiar. The six-player tournaments are held on Texas hold’em tables. There are three levels of buy-in during each event. Players can play any of the levels providing they have enough free-to-play chips to buy in.

The final two finishers of each six-player tournament receive a reward.

On PokerStars Play, the Six-Player Spin & Go tournaments are each part of days-long “Events” that keep the game visually fresh. During each event, players can win rewards in three different buy-in categories, while playing on cool and ever-changing themed game tables. Tailoring their experience to how many play chips they have available on their account.

themed events

Each of the Spin & Go events takes place over the course of days. The events are made up of any number of six-player sit-and-go tournaments, so players can always find some action.

These Spin & Go tourneys will be part of larger-scale timed “Events.” Each event is available for a set time period during which players can enter as many Six-player Spin & Go tournaments as they have chips to buy into. As well as custom tables, each event unique rewards for the relevant tournaments.

When the event ends, it is then replaced by a new event with a new theme. The new theme will be reflected in all the subsequent sit-and-go tourneys.

Are You Ready For the TigerGaming Summer Micro Tournament Series?

Are You Ready For the TigerGaming Summer Micro Tournament Series?

Although it is usually the high-stakes poker tournaments that grab the poker community’s attention, it is not always true that you have to spend a lot to win big. TigerGaming’s new series is proof of that.

The Summer Micro Tournament Series runs online at TigerGaming from June 25 through July 2. It features, as its name suggests, dozens of low and micro-stakes tournaments costing between $1.10 and $22, affordable events with juicy prize pools.

TigerGaming has designed the 35-event schedule to put your poker skills to the ultimate test. There are traditional No-Limit Hold’em tournaments, progressive knockouts (PKO), rebuy events, and more.

Everything kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET on June 25 with a special freebuy event that has 50 tournament ticket packages, each worth $20. Get your hands on one of these packages and you get to play in $20 worth of Summer Micro Tournament Series events for free, essentially.

There are at least five tournaments taking place each day throughout the Summer Micro Tournament Series, including one with an $8,000 guaranteed prize pool. However, it is the final day of the festival that catches the eye because the four schedule events have combined guarantees weighing in at $66,000!

The largest of these shuffles up and deals at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 2. Event #32 is the $22 buy-in Main Event boasting a $50,000 prize pool!

July 2 also sees a $1.10 buy-in tournament with a $1,000 guarantee, a $5.50 buy-in affair with at least $5,000 up for grabs, and an $11 buy-in event that will pay at least $10,000 to those finishing in the money places!

2023 WSOP Featured Females: Women in Full Force in Tag Team Event

2023 WSOP Featured Females: Women in Full Force in Tag Team Event

One of the most boisterous events of the summer is upon us at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the form of Event #51: $1,000 Tag Team, a tournament that never fails to draw an exciting roster of teams looking for the rare chance to win two bracelets in a single event.

Hundreds of teams packed into the Paris ballroom on Day 1 on June 22 as partners would tag out of the tournament to either grab a bite to eat or stick around on the rail. Those teams included several spearheaded by women looking to become the first female bracelet winner of the summer.

If a woman-led team goes deep in the Tag Team event, it wouldn’t be the first time. Back in 2021, daughter-father duo Amanda Botfeld and David Botfeld finished in third place for a total score of $35,542, while the spousal team of Holly Babbitt and Michael Babbitt finished seventh for $14,494.

And just last year, the team of Jamie Kerstetter and Corey Paggeot finished second in the 2022 Tag Team event to Patrick Leonard and future Main Event champion Espen Jorstad for the beloved poker commenter to be denied her maiden bracelet. Meanwhile, the duo of Mackenzie Kraemer and Jon Schiller finished in fifth place for $34,299.

Tagging In to Win a Bracelet

As is the case most years, the Tag Team event attracted a larger percentage of women than other events. Some have argued that women not feeling comfortable at the table is a barrier preventing them from getting into poker, and playing alongside a trusted friend or loved one is one sure way to get comfortable.

The Tag Team alliances on Day 1 came in several forms. First, there were the poker power couples, including last year’s Ladies Event champion Jessica Teusl and her boyfriend and fellow Austrian Stefan Lehner, as well as 2012 Main Event runner-up Jesse Sylvia and longtime girlfriend Ashley Sleeth, who was on the rail a decade ago when her Tag Team partner won $5.3 million. Herself an accomplished player, Sleeth is looking to add to her $327,220 in live earnings.

Other poker couples on the Tag Team felt included Brazilian wife-husband duo Natalie Ramos and Felipe Ramos (who earlier in the series finished second in Event #12: $5,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed for $401,460), the partnership of high-stakes pro David Peters and poker socialite Hayley Hanna, and the French couple Tom Jarry and Sarah Herzali, who has made the deepest run of any woman at the 2023 WSOP so far as she finished third in Event #15: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em for $207,720.

Next, there were the content creator alliances, including vloggers Ashley “PokerFaceAsh” Frank and Andrew Neeme and content creators Ebony Kenney and Justin Kelly, who despite running kings into aces during Level 7 managed to stay afloat.

There were a few teams featuring two women, including Team Hudson consisting of Kami Hudson and Women in Poker Hall of Famer Maria Ho, who made a big fold during Level 4 as she laid down ace-king before her opponent tabled Rockets. Another was the team of Poker Power instructors Sarah Stefan and Kyna England.

There were also the teams that featured a member of poker media, like poker photographers Rachel Kaye Miller and Katerina Lukina and their respective partners Brian Frenzel and Chris Conrad.

Most touching of all was the father-daughter duo of content creator Marle Spragg and her dad. “This is our year,” Spragg tweeted with a picture of the two side-by-side.

Two More Days Before A Winning Team Emerges

Less than 300 teams bagged at the end of Day 1 after 11 levels of play. Those teams will return today for Day 2 on their quest for the two bracelets that await the winning team.

With 1,282 entrants, 193 teams will be paid and each of those will be guaranteed a minimum payout of $801 split between the two players. That’s just a fraction of the $95,331 that awaits the eventual winning team.

Only time will tell whether a team of one of two women will run deep in the Tag Team event and end up winning a pair of bracelets.

World Trade Center Redeveloper Throws Hat Into NYC Casino Ring With “Largely Selfless” Pitch

One World Trade Center

Real estate magnate Larry Silverstein is the latest well-known figure to enter the race to get one of three coveted downstate New York casino licenses. The 92-year-old has never invested in or owned a casino, but he is the owner of a site four blocks from Times Square that he believes is perfect for such a project.

borders multiple neighborhoods without being central to one

This is because the location borders multiple neighborhoods without being central to one, which could mean fewer issues with local residents according to Silverstein’s team. He has partnered with Watche Manoukian, who owns the Parx Casino in Pennsylvania, to look after the gambling side of the project.

Larry Silverstein is a prominent New York City real estate magnate who was the man behind the redevelopment of the World Trade Center following the 9/11 terror attacks.

Talking to The New York Times on Thursday, Silverstein said that his proposal is largely selfless as the state needs major tax revenue to support the region’s transportation system upon which the New York City economy especially depends so heavily. As a major landlord, he has an investment in the city’s future.

There are expected to be about ten different proposals for the three casino licenses. They include pitches to develop a casino bedside the New York Mets’ ballpark, in Times Square, Hudson Yards, and Long Island.

A Tribe Claims Deal Violation By Ontario Government

The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto made its highly-anticipated opening on June 20, 2023. But a First Nation community from Ontario claims that the newest and most extensive casino resort in Canada and one of the largest in North America is another move to shut down the tribal casino operations and thus threaten the existence of the indigenous community in Ontario, according to CTV News.

”Unfair Hand”:

A First Nation community reportedly said that the government led by Prime Minister Doug Ford ”has dealt an unfair hand” after the latest launch of the 33-acre Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, located near the intersection of Highway 401 and Highway 427. The casino was temporarily integrated into the existing Woodbine Racetrack to kick-off on June 20, 2023 as one of the largest private developments in the country.

As CTV National News reports, Chuck Keeling, the vice-president of Great Canadian Entertainment (GCE), confirmed that the resort will be the largest casino facility in Canada. The resort’s gaming floor reportedly features 145 table games, 4,800 slot machines, while the amenities include 10 restaurants, with a hotel and concert venue to be added soon.

As the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) owns the Great Blue Heron Casino north of Toronto, Chief Kelly LaRocca reportedly claimed that the Ontario government has broken the terms of the agreement signed in 2016, with the proliferation of casino resorts across the province affecting the operations of Great Blue Heron Casino and consequently the existence of the indigenous people depending on the casino revenue. Mega casino are reportedly referred to by LaRocca as ”the existential threat.”

2016 Casino Deal Viability:

Speaking to the source, LaRocca said that the casino represents “the economic foundation and lifeblood of [the First Nation’s] community. It has brought us clean drinking water, enhanced health-care services and education.” As the tribe owns the casino, Great Canadian Entertainment and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) are in charge of the casino operation, under the First Nation’s 2016 deal with the government.

In 2016, the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation reportedly signed the casino revenue-sharing deal with the Ontario government. According to CTV News, the agreement states:  “The Province and the First Nation intend that the Great Blue Heron continue to operate and be commercially viable.”

As three other casinos have been opened and operated by GCE and OLG in Ontario since that time, the latest mega casino opening incited Chief of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island to claim the Ontario government’s violation of the agreement. LaRocca reportedly said: “The Ford government have broken their word to our community. It’s hurting a lot of Indigenous people and we are going to have to take issue and fight against the cannibalization of gaming.”

GCE and OLG Deny Breech Allegations:

On the other hand, GCE vice-president Keeling reportedly disagreed with chief. “We absolutely understand and respect the chief’s position on this. All we can say is that we are trying to demonstrate our commitment to that property by investing tens of millions of dollars,” he reportedly told the source. OLG simultaneously noted that the company is reportedly committed to “ongoing discussions between OLG and its partners including existing Indigenous host communities” as far as the development of the Great Canadian Casino Resort is concerned.

Uneven Playing Field:

According to the source, LaRocca considers that the latest casino opening makes an uneven playing field. She added that her First Nation’s deal with the Ford government reportedly included that “the Great Blue Heron would be protected and have a protected area around it, where no new gaming could proliferate and that promise has been broken through the opening of the casino in Pickering.”

Tribe Seeking Discussions with Government:

Ontario’s Ministry of Finance reportedly said that “the Province does not have an agreement not to open any more new land based casinos. It does have a Revenue Sharing Agreement with MSIFN in respect of the Great Blue Heron Casino.” According to CTV New, the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation are currently seeking discussions with the Province of Ontario and are reportedly ready to proceed with legal actions if no agreement is reached.

Win A Trip To Play Grand Prix Bratislava For Free On PartyPoker

The Grand Prix Bratislava will take place at the Card Casino in the capital of Slovakia from July 18 to July 23. Ahead of the event, PartyPoker is giving players plenty of opportunities to win packages to attend the Grand Prix Bratislava.

However, none of these opportunities are quite as exciting as the latest. On July 2, PartyPoker will be holding a freeroll event with a €1,500 Grand Prix package up top for the winner. The package includes:

  • a €550 Grand Prix Main Event buy-in;
  • five nights at a hotel for two people, worth €700; and
  • €250 as spending money.

All you have to do to win a ticket to this freeroll event is to complete three simple poker challenges!

How To Win (And Use) Your Freeroll Ticket

From June 18 to July 1, players can win a ticket to this event by completing three simple challenges. After opting into the promotion from the Offers page on PartyPoker.com, players must complete all three challenges before June 1 to win their ticket.

The three challenges that must be completed are:

  • play 50 hands of fastforward at minimum stakes of $0.02/$0.05;
  • play ten SPINS games, each with a minimum buy-in of $1; and
  • play three Multi Table Tournaments, each with a minimum buy-in of $1.10.

Click Here To Download PartyPoker Now!

Fastforward is PartyPoker’s high-speed version of poker, where players are removed from the table as soon as they fold. Removed players are then immediately reseated at a new table made up of other recently folded players from the fastforward player pool. This massively reduces the time between hands, making for a fun and frenetic game.

Players will recognize the general format of SPINS, where players join a three-person sit-and-go with a randomized prize pool. Most of the time you play for two buy-ins, but sometimes you can end up playing for hundreds or even thousands, it’s all down to the spin of the prize wheel!

Once players have earned their ticket to the freeroll, they must then use their ticket to register for the event before it starts.

How to Bet on Virtual Sports

How to Bet on Virtual Sports online casino image of footballer striking a ball.

Here we have taken a closer look at the phenomenon of virtual sports, offering a step-by-step guide to betting on virtual sports games.

Virtual sports betting has exploded in popularity in recent years. From 2016 to 2021, the number of people partaking in virtual sports betting skyrocketed from 121 million to 307 million people, and that number is only expected to grow.

However, despite the fact it is projected to be worth more than $35 billion by 2030, many of us are unfamiliar with how virtual sports work. Many may even struggle to know how to bet on these virtual sporting events.

What Is Virtual Sports Betting?

As the name suggests, virtual sports betting has transported the traditional, in-person world of sports to digital age. Rather than waiting for a football match to kick off or a race to start, you can now bet on a sporting event that will occur either every few minutes or instantly, on demand. The outcomes of these events are determined by complex algorithms which have been developed to capture the excitement and drama of “real world” sports.

Placing bets on virtual sports should be familiar to anyone who has ever placed a bet on traditional sports events. For example, if you decide to bet on virtual football, you will find markets for the winner, goal scorer, next goal scorer, under/over, and plenty more. If horse racing is more to your taste, you can find options to bet on the outright winner, each-way punts and even forecasts.

Types of Virtual Sports

Most of the world’s favorite sports are available in the virtual realm. Football, golf, horse racing, basketball, and many more have digital cousins that are becoming incredibly popular. Here we are going to look at three of the virtual sports that have attracted huge followings online.

Virtual Football

As the most popular sport in the world, there should be no surprise that virtual football is equally as popular. Most games offer the traditional betting that would be available for “real world” football, but there are some that offer something a little bit different.

For example, maybe you love the drama of a penalty shoot-out, but don’t want to wait 120 minutes to get there. Then Leap Gaming’s Football Penalty Duel could be the one for you. Here you can skip straight to the shootout drama! Then you can bet on winner, the outcome of the next spot kick, over/under goals and even whether the penalty battle will go to sudden death!

Virtual Horse Racing

Where virtual sports excel is in recreating the drama of their real-life counterparts, and this is no truer than in virtual horse racing. By crafting detailed tracks with cutting edge technology, virtual horse racing allows players to partake in horse races from their own home.

The races are often presented in TV-style, with different camera angles capturing the action in the best way possible. It’s not just the presentation that will be familiar to racing fans, as many traditional markets are available. These include outright winner, each way, and forecasts; giving virtual horse racing even more of a “real world” feel.

Virtual Basketball

Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, and developers have worked hard to bring the same excitement and energy from the court to the casino. Thankfully, some of these games are a real slam dunk!

Most games offer similar bets as you would find on the traditional game and cutting-edge graphics are the norm. However, EuroLeague Legends is a game that does things a little bit differently. Here the result is still generated by a random number generator, but at random times, real life highlights are spliced into the action.

You will see some of the best EuroLeague players shooting hoops as a part of our game. Real players from real teams, including Real Madrid, Unicaja Malaga, and Partizan Belgrade are available in the game which perfectly brings traditional basketball to the virtual court!

888poker Summer Sale Week Proving Popular; Cut-Prize $100K This Weekend

888poker Summer Sale Week Proving Popular; Cut-Prize $100K This Weekend

The decision by 888poker to slash the buy-ins of some of the online poker site’s most popular tournaments has gone down a storm, with each of the Summer Sale Week tournaments surpassing their guarantees.

888poker players are taking full advantage of half-price tournament buy-ins and will continue to do so over the weekend when they get to play for a share of a guaranteed $100,000 for only $55 in the Mystery Bounty Main Event.

On June 22, 84 players purchased 23 re-entries between them for a total attendance of 107 in the $12,000 Summer Sale Big Shot 320. Usually, this tournament is reserved for those with a bankroll large enough to sustain a $320 hit, but the Summer Sale Week promotion meant those entrants only paid $160 to play this event.

The top 12 finishers shared the $16,050 prize pool, a min-cash weighing in at $441 and a few cents. The final table payouts ranged from $521 up to $4,373.

Brazil’s “M.Flush.N” was the first of the finalists to bow out. “CARRAMROD” joined the Brazilin on the rail after collecting $682 for their eighth-place finish.

A flurry of bust outs saw “PotofGreed” of Malta bust in sixth for $842, “BeHappyyy” crash out in fifth for $1,123, and “steraz2398” reel in a $1,524 score for their fourth-place finish.

The value-packed tournament progressed to the heads-up stage when “9saymon” ran out of steam in third, which was good enough for a bankroll-boosting $2,247 payout.

Two Canadians contested heads-up: “beebsterizer” and “Acespace911.” Both players locked in almost $3,000, but “Acespace911” fell at the final hurdle and had to make do with the $2,969 runner-up prize, which left “beebsterizer” to capture the title and $4,373 for their efforts.
