The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is hosting 20 online bracelets – up from 13 last year – awarded on WSOP.com in the merged network of New Jersey and Nevada.

While PokerNews is offering live updates from those tournaments, the segregated markets of Pennsylvania and Michigan are also each awarding seven bracelets.

While we’re not able to offer live updates from those tournaments, we will be bringing you recaps for all the bracelet winners from Wolverine and Keystone States.

Below is a look at the latest winners from Michigan and Pennsylvania.

A Look at the 2023 WSOP Online Bracelet Schedule – How to Deposit

Rudy Gavaldon Michigan’s Latest Online Bracelet Winner

On Sunday, June 18, the third Michigan online bracelet of the summer was awarded. Event #3: $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max saw 138 players rebuy 55 times, which resulted in a 193-entry field that awarded its $86,850 prize pool to the top 24 finishers.

Among those to cash were Ronald “Whitty79” Whitmore (7th – $2,744), Brent “theLoat” Ballentine (10th – $1,346), Adam “Lamp_” Lamphere (14th – $1,294), Chris “fafo.” Moon (17th – $1,251), Brent “HappyMrsChkn” Burrows (18th – $1,251), and Jacob “Takings0uls” Schultz (23rd – $1,233).

After five and a half hours of play, it was Rudy “Flyheim86” Gavaldon defeating Roger “JohnCennnnna” Khoury in heads-up play to win the tournament for $20,192.68 and his first online gold bracelet.

The win came just six days after Gavaldon nearly claimed a WSOP Circuit ring. He finished third for $2,858 in the WSOP Online Circuit Series Event #12: $20,000 NLH PKO 6-Max.

A Look at All the 2022 WSOP Online Michigan Bracelet Winners

Justin Vaysman Wins Third PA Bracelet of the Summer

On Sunday, June 18, the third Pennsylvania online bracelet of the summer was awarded. Event #3: $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max attracted 137 players who rebought 58 times. The 195-entry field resulted in an $87,750 prize pool that was paid out to the top 24 finishers.

Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Kyle “LetMeWin3437” Gross (7th – $2,773), Kara “Here2Dust” Rodriguez (9th – $1,483), Cody “LuckyLeah.” Custer (13th – $1,307), Joe “Joep1234” Pelland (19th – $1,246), Aubrey “R1V3RM3DADDY” Williams (23rd – $1,246), and Ilya “Solenya” Soyfer (24th – $1,246).

After just over five hours of play, it was Justin “yumdubz” Vaysman defeating Max “Max_P” Pinnola in heads-up play to win the tournament for $20,401.93 and his first online gold bracelet.

Remaining Michigan/Pennsylvania Schedule

Back in 2021, the WSOP offered gold online bracelet events in the segregated Pennsylvania market. In 2022, the WSOP expanded its online bracelet offering into Michigan with eight events.

In 2023, WSOP.com will offer seven online bracelets each in their segregated markets in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The events and schedule are the same in both markets.

On Sunday, June 25, Event #4: $500 Mystery Bounty will take place marking the first time an online gold bracelet will be awarded for the popular Mystery Bounty format.

Day 26 of the 2023 World Series of Poker gave us plenty of action, with three bracelets being won, two events kicking off, and two events trucking through the middle game.

The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas played host to these events in all their glory as three bracelets found new owners in Event #50: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, Event #51: $1,000/Team TAG TEAM No-Limit Hold’em, and Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Limit Triple Draw Lowball.

Event #53: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER No-Limit Hold’em shuffled up and dealt again for the Day 1b flight while Event #55: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better kicked off its regular Day 1.

Event #48: $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship and Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship are both one day closer to their final tables, with the H.O.R.S.E. event down to the final 17 and Phil Hellmuth still in the running.

AP Louis Garza Takes Event #50… And A Knee

Event #50: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship was everything you’d hope from a $10k PLO final table, with great poker players putting on a show of great poker playing.

The live-streamed final table saw AP Louis Garza square off against Arthur Morris for a Texan v. Texan heads up match. To get there, the pair had to outlast hardened pros like Kosei Ichinose and Sam Soverel.

The Day 3 chip leader Stanislav Halatenko held on to enough chips to come in third, earning $570,307 in the process. Travis Pearson and Peng Shan completed the Day 4 lineup after Soverel, Ichinose, and Ren Lin were knocked out during Day 3’s final table play.

This was Garza’s first bracelet despite several top 20 finishes at the WSOP over the last few years.

Garza brought some definite sartorial flair to the table, and when asked about his stylish get-up, Garza responded, “Man, that’s just me all day, any day, Monday, Tuesday, Jesus’ birthday, your birthday.” There may also have been another reason he wanted to look his best, as Garza had brought his own jewelry. After the win, he proposed to his girlfriend in the PokerGO studio.

Event#50: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship Final Table Results

Teamwork Works For Michael and Satoshi Tanaka

The Michael Savakinas–Satoshi Tanaka axis took down Event #51: $1,000/Team TAG TEAM No-Limit Hold’em earning themselves a pair of shinies for the trophy cabinet to go with a $190,662 payday.

Team Savanakis kept fresh by subbing in a new player at the end of every blind level. This unusual strategy seemed to work, allowing them to rise the ranks as their opponents fell one by one.

“When the final table started, we decided to switch on the levels,” Tanaka explained. “I think that gave us an edge because no one else was doing that.”

During heads-up play, the pair were up against the team of Vincent Moscati and Tanner Bibat. However, the eventual winners started with a chip lead and ended with all the chips. Team Moscati won $117,872 for second place.

Nick Pupillo Wins Mixed Triple Draw Bracelet

Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Limit Triple Draw Lowball is an unusual event. Players rotate through rounds of A-5 triple draw, 2-7 triple draw, and Badugi.

The final table bubble burst with WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Brown being sent to the rail by Aaron Mermelstein. Mermelstein eventually went out in third place, leaving Nick Pupillo and Ryan Moriarty heads up.

2-7 triple draw was the game afoot when heads-up play started between Pupillo and Moriarty. Heads up play lasted just a few hands before Moriarty found his Reichenbach with a K-9 low against Pupillo’s 9-7. The pair got it all in, and Pupillo got the bracelet.

Billy Baxter in the Running For SENIORS Event Bracelet

The big story of Event #48: $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship was Billy Baxter‘s steady rise through the field. With seven WSOP bracelets and a spot in the Poker Hall of Fame already in hand, Baxter is one to watch.

Age brings experience and there is plenty of that in the remaining field of the Seniors Event. Gordon Eng (15,975,000) tops the leaderboard with Lonnie Hallett (15,300,000) and David Stearns (10,575,000) in close pursuit. Former Seniors champion, Dan Heimiller (3,625,000) also remains in the bracelet chase, looking for a duplicate.

Baxter’s top ten chip stack at the end of Day 3 also bodes well for the continuation of his story tomorrow. Baxter and co will return on June 25 at 12 p.m. local time (note that this is a change from the 10 a.m. start marked on the original WSOP schedule).

Hellmuth Makes Final 17 In $10,000 H.O.R.S.E.

Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship is one of the most prestigious events. The $10k buy-in and mixed game format tends to attract an elite player field.

Brian Yoon won his fifth WSOP bracelet earlier in this year’s series and is now in pole position going into tomorrow’s final table. He leads the 17 remaining players at the end of Day 2. With 185 entries, the prize pool for this event is $1,720,500.

Yoon may be top of the pride right now, but if he want’s the lion’s share of the pot, he will need to stay ahead of big-name players like Connor Drinan (1,200,000), Scott Seiver (965,000), Carol Fuchs (865,000), and 16-time braceletee Phil Hellmuth (700,000).

Day 3 action will begin on June 25 at 2 p.m. local time.

Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship Day 2 Top Ten Chip Counts

Eric Rodawig Leads Stud Hi-Lo Event After Day 1

Event #55: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better attracted 566 players, generating a $755,610 prize pool and a $155,275 first place.

A total of 183 players remain in the running at the end of Day 1.

Big names who did not make it to Day 2 included Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Jeff Madsen, Patrick Leonard, the actor James Woods, Allen Kessler, Ted Forrest, Jeff Lisandro, and Scotty Nguyen.

Players who will be returning tomorrow include Brian Rast (118,000), Frankie O’Dell (100,000), Adam Friedman (98,500), and Norman Chad (70,000).

Play begins again on June 25 at 1 p.m. Vegas time for Day 2, during which the money bubble is expected to burst.

2023 Millionaire Maker Becomes Biggest $1,500 Field Ever

Zi Long Zhang leads Day 1b of Event #53: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER No-Limit Hold’em with 407,000 in chips (although official counts recorded Holtz as the Day 1b chip leader, Holtz has admitted on Twitter to entering a joke chip count of 420,069 — his stack is instead around 48,500).

The overall chip leader for the event remains Yong Yi who bagged 750,000 on Day 1a. They have the distinction of being in the lead of the biggest live $1,500 event ever played with 10,430 entries.

Among the big names who bagged big were Loni Hui (220,000), Faraz Jaka (57,000), Vanessa Kade (51,000), Espen Jorstad (149,500), and Jamie Gold (83,000).

Notables who did not make it to Day 2 included WSOP Main Event Champions Koray Aldemir and Damian Salas, as well as Mario Ho, Will Kassouf, and Yuri Dzivieleski.

Play will resume on June 25 at 10 a.m. Vegas time.

Event #53: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER No-Limit Hold’em Start of Day 2 Top Ten Chip Counts

What To Expect on Day 27 of the 2023 WSOP

Day 27 of the World Series of Poker will see the launch of three new live bracelet events (plus the full one-day run of Online Event #10: $400 No-Limit Ultra Deepstack). These three events will be Event #57: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha, Event #58: $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold’em, and the much anticipated Event #56: $500 SALUTE to Warriors.

There will also be several events continuing their action. Plus, Event #53: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER No-Limit Hold’em will return at 10 a.m. for the combined Day 2. Event #55: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Event #48: $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship, and Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship will all continue to play out their midgames.

Unusually, the only bracelet that is scheduled to be won tomorrow is the online event.

This year’s iteration of Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas saw a total player tally of 353 create a prize pool of $785,425. That money was divided up between the final 53 players, of which 19 returned to the Horseshoe for Day 3.

At the end of it all, it was three-time WSOPC ring winner Nick Pupillo who took down his first WSOP bracelet for $181,978.

“It’s pretty surreal, it feels good,” the newly minted champion said with tears in his eyes. “I love the mixed games, it really felt like my tournament. I late regged and ran really well.”

The Illinois-born poker professional has amassed over $4,675,902 in lifetime earnings, with WSOP cashes dating back to 2014. Often in the conversation of best player without a bracelet, Pupillo recently final-tabled the $10,000 Limit Hold’em and finished in sixth place for $62,255. “It’s definitely a sense of relief, it feels good to win a bracelet, and I’ll try to win more.”

Pupillo was supported by rail of Midwestern friends that included the likes of Sarah Stefan, Josh Reichard and Michael Perrone. “I’m thankful for everyone that supports me and roots for me. I’ve had ups and downs, but I’m just grateful.” While the photos were being taken, Pupillo pulled up a picture of his family, his biggest supporters.

Day 3 Action

The day’s early action saw the end of many a notable player’s run. Matt Vengrin (19th-$6,948) became the first player to bust just before the final three-table redraw. Others who fell included Cary Katz(18th – $6,948), Robert Mizrachi (17th – $8,495), John Monnette (16th – $8,495), Joao Vieira (10th – $10,690), and Ray Henson (9th – $13,834).

The last player to fall before the final table was WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Brown who got in his final few chips in at 2-7. He held an eight-seven against Aaron Mermelstein’s eight-five. Brown collected $13,834 for his eighth-place finish.

Final Table Action

It did not take long for the final table to lose its first player. The only prior bracelet winner at the table was Anatolii Zyrin, who came in as the shortest stack. He ended up staying pat during a 2-7 hand with a nine-six against Brant Hale who drew an eight-seven on the end. The two-time bracelet winner collected $18,398 for his seventh-place finish and the official final table was set.

Hale would be the next one out the door after a massive pot with Nick Pupillo would leave him with just a quarter of a small blind. He ended up being forced all in from the big blind in A-5 and made a nine-eight against Aaron Mermelstein six-five, and he exited the tournament in sixth place for $25,126.

Hye Park came into the final table as one of the shorter stacks, but his undoing came in multiple hands. The first saw a Badugi hand where he accidentally mucked the winner against Pupillo, the next was when Mermelstein caught a seven-six in 2-7, and the final hand saw him run into the wheel in 2-7 against Ryan Moriarty. The 2021 WSOP Main Event 6th place finisher wished his table well and collected $35,212 for his fifth-place finish.

Tomomitsu Ono saw a few coolers in Badugi end his chances of the bracelet. The final cooler saw him get in a blind versus blind confrontation with Pupillo when Ono was dealt a pat ten, and Pupillo was dealt a pat seven. All the chips went in on the second round of betting, and Ono took home $50,608 for his fourth-place finish.

Mermelstein was the next to depart the field in third place. As the blinds progressed, many hands did not go his way and as his chip stack got shorter, he found himself in a multiway pot in Badugi while Pupillo and Moriarty would play for a side. Pupillo made a perfect jack which bested Mermelstein’s three-card ten and Mermelstein collected $75,545 for his efforts, while Pupillo went into heads up with a massive lead.

Heads up did not last long as the players never left the round of 2-7 Triple Draw. The final hand saw Moriarty make a king-nine on the final draw, while Pupillo made a nine-seven which secured Pupillo his first bracelet and saw Moriarty take home a career-best score of $112,472 for his second-place finish.

After three days of play, Michael Savakinas and Satoshi Tanaka were the last duo standing after they topped the record setting field in Event #51: $1,000 Tag Team at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

The members of Team Savakinas bagged their first WSOP bracelets and took home the first-place prize of $190,662.

The event gathered 1,282 teams and 193 of them secured the $1,602 min-cash. Team Savakinas started Day 3 as a short stack but were able to nav and managed to cruise to the 10-handed final table with 23 big blinds. Michael Savakinas and Satoshi Tanaka each took their turn, making their way through the final heads-up battle to secure the victory.

Tanaka attributed their natural chemistry as friends as one of the main keys to their success. “I think we get along outside of poker too, so naturally, if things go wrong in poker, we help each other out.”

Tanaka also mentioned that their strategy of how often they tagged in and out gave them an advantage. “When the final table started, we decided to switch on the levels, and I think that gave us an edge because no one else was doing that.”

Event #51: $1,000 Tag Team Final Table Payouts

Final Day Action

Just 26 duos came back for the final day, and the action was hectic, with the final table being quickly established.

Ramon Kropmanns and Jessica Serial of Team Kropmanns, the only non-American team among the final table, finished in tenth place just before known grinders Justin Pechie and Ronnie Bardah of Team Pechie.

As the players moved to the feature table, a rail started to form to create a fun atmosphere which is ever present in this unique event.

Team Inukai (Carlos Inukai – Emmaniel Avila) and Team Williams (David Williams – Theo Tran) were the next to exit. Six-handed play lasted for a while before Team Stein (Marcus Stein – Amber Donatelli) were eliminated.

Team Ventre (John Ventre – Kenneth Gallo) lost a crucial flip against Team Moscati (Vincent Moscati – Tanner Bibat), which allowed the latter to shoot of the chip counts.

Team Evans (Rickey Evans – Roberto Valdez) took fourth place and Team Moscati held the lead when Jonah LaBranche of Team LaBranche (Jonah LaBranche – Dustin Wills) decided to put his stack in with king-seven of diamonds. He ran into aces, and Team Moscati started the heads-up battle with a huge advantage.

Heads-up play remarkably turned into an epic back-and-forth battle, with Team Savakinas staring down a four-to-one chip lead and at one point being down as much as eight-to-one. However, after three straight double-ups, Team Savakinas evened it up and won the next two all-in confrontations to seal the victory.

The 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has entered the second half of the festival by crowning a winner in the record-breaking Event #50: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. Out of a field of 731 entries, two Texans shared the biggest portion of the $6,798,300 prize pool. Ap Louis “Lou” Garza came out on top of a short-lived heads-up duel with Arthur Morris to earn his first WSOP gold bracelet.

One year ago, Garza finished tenth in the Poker Players Championship, which he decided to skip this time, while he already had a WSOP Circuit ring on his poker resume after taking down a $365 No-Limit Hold’em in Dallas back in January 2018. Garza also had a ring in his pocket on the final table and spontaneously proposed to his girlfriend minutes after his victory while his rowdy Texan rail was still celebrating all around them.

Garza obliterated his WSOP earnings of more than half a million dollars so far and banked a payday of $1,309,232 as his career earnings skyrocketed to nearly $1.8 million. He did it in style with the most swag of all finalists, wearing just an unbuttoned sleeveless denim jacket, plenty of jewellery and Christian Dior shades. The only thing missing was his Cowboy hat that he had been wearing during the 2022 WSOP.

Runner-up Morris already had a WSOP Circuit ring and six top ten finishes in WSOP gold bracelet events to his name including a deep run in this very event back in 2021, when he finished in seventh place for $93,406. This time, the consolation prize was much bigger as Morris added another $809,167 to his bankroll.

Start-of-the-day chip leader Stanislav Halatenko had to settle for third place, which came with a payday of $570,307. Travis Pearson and Peng Shan completed the line-up for the final day whereas Sam Soverel, Kosei Ichinose and Ren Lin had been eliminated the previous night on the official eight-handed final table.

Garza Moves All-In Off the Felt

Garza and Morris started the live-streamed conclusion last and second-last in chips but overcame the commanding lead of Halatenko to battle for the victory. Especially Garza stood out in his daring outfit, which certainly makes him stand out from the casual crowd in live poker tournaments.

“Man, that’s just me all day, any day, Monday, Tuesday, Jesus’ birthday, your birthday,” Garza said without hesitation when asked about his stylish outfit that he had been sporting throughout the tournament and in previous years. It was typical Texas style and he was up against fellow Texan Morris, who he described as “tough” and “knows what he is doing”.

“You know, they get four cards and I get four cards, even though we are good friends,” Garza added with a smirk on the face.

“I don’t think I would even be right here without her,”

The two rails supporting the final duo from the same home state created a rowdy atmosphere in the Thunderdome, which could be heard in the entire Horseshoe Event Center.

“That was fun … that’s part of the game, I love it,” Garza said with a wide smile on the face. He was supported by a dozen friends on the rail that made noise for hundreds of spectators. While they were already on the phones recording in the boisterous aftermath, Garza pulled out a ring to surprise his girlfriend right on the stage even before the winner pictures were done.

“Don’t think any other time would be right besides now because I don’t think I would even be right here without her,” the new WSOP gold bracelet winner admitted.

Garza and Morris were not afraid to get their chips in despite six-figure pay jumps on the line. At some point, the bottom four stacks were separated by only a handful of big blinds while Halatenko dominated at the top with more than half of the chips in play. Garza and Halatenko had bumped heads during big pots and fists with a smile on the face the previous night when the eventual champion joked they were “in the same boat”,not afraid to put their chips on the line.

Potential ICM considerations didn’t play any role for Garza even with the added spotlight of the live stream setup and a seven figure payday up for grabs.

“No, not really.I am taking spots if I see it, like I don’t care if I bust. If I lose with the spot, I’ll take it. I don’t really care too much about ICM,” Garza concluded.

Action of the Final Day

Halatenko entered the final day with nearly half of the chips in play, and he remained near the top of the leaderboard for an extended period. Arthur Morris earned a double through Travis Pearson before Lou Garza carved a bite out of Halatenko’s stack with aces versus naked kings.

The action slowed down thereafter with the bottom four on the leaderboard separated by only a couple of big blinds before Morris earned another double.This time, it came against Shan when his bottom two pair and nut flush draw were up against the top pair, straight draw and inferior flush draw of his opponent.

Shan’s roller coaster ride with seven-figure pay jumps ultimately ended in fifth place before Garza scored a crucial double through Halatenko to cement his distinct second place on the leaderboard. Pearson then got it in with a dominated pair against Garza and found no help to become the second casualty.

Having secured a large pay jump, Morris was the far shortest stack but then rivered a flush to double through Garza to leap right back into contention. When the stack sizes were about to get nearly even, Garza won a big pot off Morris to leave the latter on just five big blinds. It was far from over, however, as Morris doubled right back before winning several hands in a row to pull into second place and even took over the lead from Halatenko for the first time on the final day.

The momentum slowly shifted to Garza, who jumped to more than half of the chips in play before a clash of the two shorter stacks got the chips in between Morris and Halatenko. In a near identical scenario, Morris got there again by turning superior two pair and left Halatenko on the ropes. There was no coming back from a single big blinds for Halatenko and Morris entered the heads-up stage against Garza with a narrow lead of 39 versus 33 big blinds.

“Let’s go Texas,” the rails chanted at the start of the duel, having previously gone back and forth with banter for hours.

Both players then tossed their gloves and the fireworks commenced in a fast-paced battle. Garza extended his lead briefly before Morris struck back and got a gutsy bluff through. When all the chips went into the middle again, Morris’ double-suited ace-queen had hit top pair while Garza looked him up with the second pair, gutshot and nut flush draw.

The most unlikely card came on the river to seal Garza’s victory when he made trips fours and his rowdy rail jumped onto the feature stage moments later. When the celebrations had slowed down for a second, Garza dropped to his knees and proposed to his girlfriend and put a fitting end to the tournament.

It’s been a good summer for three-time bracelet winner Chance Kornuth. He kicked things off by nearly winning his fourth bracelet when he finished runner-up in the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #2: $25,000 High Roller 6-Max for $751,463.

He would go on to finish fourth in Event #29: $100,000 High Roller for $833,854, fifth in Event #40: $250,000 Super High Roller for $1,202,318, and fourth in Online Event #8: $3,200 High Roller for $108,443. Thus far he’s cashed eight WSOP events for $2,903,050.

He’s also been busy playing other tournaments on the Las Vegas Strip, including finishing 81st in the $3,500 BetMGM Championship for $8,733. Well, earlier this week on his birthday, Kornuth finally got a first-place victory. He navigated his way through a field of 3,006 entrants in the Wynn Summer Classic $2,200 Mystery Bounty, and along the way claimed 11 bounties for a total payday of $537,322.

Others to cash the tournament were Vlad Darie (11th – $59,388), Sebastian Comel (15th – $29,364), Michael Lin (18th – $27,525), David Ledden (23rd – $69,300), Yudhishter Jaswal (24th – $18,875), and Alex Nguyen (27th – $265,375).

James Calderaro Wins $5,000 Seniors High Roller

A new event on the Wynn Summer Classic schedule was the $5,000 Seniors High Roller, which ran from June 19-20. The tournament attracted 155 runners, which nearly tripled the $250,000 guarantee by creating a $728,500 prize pool.

That was paid out to the top 17 finishers, and among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Chris Bell (10th – $16,610), Ira Friedman (12th – $14,570), and Ross Novak (16th – $11,532), just to name a few.

The final table had some familiar faces in Farzad Bonyadi (5th – $41,379) and Dan Shak (3rd – $81,009), but ultimately it was James Calderaro defeating Luke Graham in heads-up play to win the tournament for $211,666.
