Philip Rivers’s Kids – Find Out Their 9 Names And Ages Here

Philip Rivers's Kids - Find Out Their 9 Names And Ages Here

Philip Rivers has such a big family that
in November 2019, the bookies were offering odds on his future.

Would he retire from the NFL, or have
another baby first?

Well, as we all know, Rivers left the NFL in January 2021, after playing 16 seasons for the Chargers and one for the Colts.

But has he ruled out having any more
kids?

The former NFL star and his wife,
Tiffany, have never put a number on how many they want so there could be even
more on the way…

Philip Rivers’s Children

Philip Rivers has nine kids.

NINE!

That’s seven girls and two boys, ranging in ages from three to 20 years:

  • Halle (20)
  • Caroline (17)
  • Grace (16)
  • Gunner (14)
  • Sarah (12)
  • Peter (11)
  • Rebecca (8)
  • Clare (6)
  • Anna (3)

During his playing days, Rivers went
to extreme lengths to create time to see his kids, including converting the
back of his car into a mobile film room.

This meant he could watch film on his two-hour commute home and still make it back for family dinner time.

Now that he’s retired, he fortunately gets to spend a lot more time with his whole family at their home in Alabama.

He is currently a coach at St.
Michael Catholic High School, where one of his children, Gunner, plays
quarterback.

The most recent addition to this
family is little Anna, born in March 2019.

As the ninth little one of their
crew, there were jokes on Twitter
that, if they included mom and dad, the Rivers could
field a whole offense!

How Philip Rivers Met Tiffany Goodwin

With an ever-growing family of beautiful kids we’re all dying to know how Philip Rivers met his beloved wife, Tiffany.

It’s a classic childhood sweetheart kinda story.

They started dating in middle school and ended up marrying whilst at college at NC State.

Philip was just 19 years old, and Tiffany converted to his faith, Catholicism, the night before their big day.

Their first child, Halle, was born the summer before Philip’s senior year of college.

Both Philip and Tiffany are devout
Catholics; the church and their faith having only deepened their bond.

And it’s their refusal to use contraception, opting instead to use the Natural Family Planning technique that probably has a lot to do with their large family.

The Future Is Bright

Being a father to nine children and the
head coach of a football team means that, even in retirement, Philip Rivers is
kept busy.

However, being busy has never stopped
the Rivers from having children in the past.

So, don’t rule out the possibility of
baby number 10 being announced sometime soon.

Revealed: Football League clubs taking cut of gamblers’ losses with SkyBet | Soccer

English football clubs have been taking a cut of the money fans lose with the bookmaker SkyBet, the Guardian can reveal, prompting accusations that they are exploiting supporters and gambling addicts.

An internal document shows that members of the Football League (EFL), comprising the 72 clubs outside the Premier League, operated as “affiliates” for SkyBet. An affiliate is a middleman who encourages a gambler to bet with a particular company, which then pays them a percentage of the money that person goes on to lose, sometimes for the rest of their life.

The document states clubs were entitled to a “share of losses […] from accounts registered in your club name to Sky Bet through our affiliate partnership”.

The EFL said the arrangement, which lasted six years, was scrapped at the start of the 2019-20 season but admitted some clubs were still receiving funds under the “legacy” contracts and would continue cashing in until the end of the 2023‑24 season.

The Guardian understands that one League Two club made £5,000 from the deal in a year, indicating potentially much larger sums for the best‑supported Championship teams.

Campaigners and MPs condemned the relationship, called on Premier League clubs to reveal whether they have any similar deals and said the revelation should give fresh impetus to government plans to reform gambling laws.

Whitehall sources have suggested a draft white paper outlining potential reforms, put together under Boris Johnson’s leadership, could fall victim to a bonfire of regulations under the new prime minister Liz Truss. But the shadow minister for sport, Alex Davies-Jones, said the plans should not be scrapped, warning that evidence of affiliate deals “raises some serious questions about the government’s approach to gambling”.

“Despite promising much-needed reform, the government have failed to bring forward their white paper and it is people across the country who continue to be impacted,” she said. “We have an analogue approach to regulation but we live in a digital world and the government can and must do more.”

The Conservative MP Iain Duncan Smith, who has been trying to ensure the white paper is not ditched, described the arrangements uncovered by the Guardian as “terrible”. He said: “That a football club might benefit from this runs against all that they are supposed to stand for – support for their fans, for the people who go to the ground.”

SkyBet, part of the Flutter gambling empire, has sponsored the EFL for 10 seasons. Sources in the gambling world have previously alleged that clubs have affiliate deals with bookmakers, but this is thought to be the first time that hard evidence of such an arrangement has come to light.

The Labour MP Carolyn Harris, who co-chairs a cross-party parliamentary group examining gambling‑related harm, said: “This appears to be proof that football clubs are exploiting their own fans, some of whom will be gambling addicts, by taking a cut of every penny they lose to greedy bookmakers. The government must now step in to loosen the hold that the gambling industry has on the national game.”

Harris said Premier League teams should now “come clean” about whether they too have affiliate deals.

The Guardian has written previously to every Premier League club, as well as some in the Championship and Scottish Premiership, to ask whether they operate an affiliate arrangement with any gambling companies. Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United said that they did not; the remaining clubs declined to comment or did not respond.

The document seen by the Guardian appears to be an account of commercial revenues made by Accrington Stanley through EFL Digital, a division of the EFL.

It shows that the club made no revenue from acting as a betting affiliate during the fourth quarter of the 2021-22 financial year. The owner, Andy Holt, said gambling addiction was a “disaster area for society” and that he only became aware of the EFL’s affiliate arrangement this week.

James Grimes, who campaigns for an end to gambling sponsorship in football via his group The Big Step, said evidence of affiliate deals in football was “a gamechanger in the fight to end gambling sponsorship in football. No one should accept that this is normal or safe.”

An EFL spokesperson said: “When the EFL and SkyBet renewed its longstanding partnership for the 2019-20 season, we placed a greater focus on putting safer gambling at the heart of the agreement. As a result, the previous affiliate scheme was discontinued.

“While some clubs do receive revenue from legacy sign‑ups that occurred prior to the new agreement, the affiliate scheme in place was phased out and all sign‑up links via EFL Digital channels have been removed.”

SkyBet said its partnership with the EFL was modified in 2019-20 “with a clear focus on safer gambling and engaging fans responsibly”, adding: “We are committed to safer gambling – for instance becoming the first operator to introduce strict limits on under 25s – and are supportive of evidence-led measures being introduced as part of the upcoming gambling act review.”

Dealing With Problem Gambling During Football Season

Preventing the Link Between Crime & Problem Gambling

From September to February, Americans rearrange plans and listen for the telltale ding from their phones as millions of TVs across the nation display the latest football games, stats, and highlights. But are people still tuning in for the love of the sport, or has something a little less wholesome overshadowed the seemingly harmless game?

While this sport often brings people together, it’s important to acknowledge that this season can be challenging for those are struggling with problem gambling and those around them who are concerned for their continued welfare. However, there are steps you can take to safeguard yourself and those you love from sneaky traps and trick plays. Keep reading to learn more about the other team’s playbook and what resources are at your disposal when you feel like you could use a little back up.

The Offensive Line

With the constant stream of betting enticements being placed in every free second of programming, there is a heightened risk for problem gamblers in recovery to fall back into old patterns. Research shows that with more and more states legalizing sports betting, the sports wagering TV ad category has seen a spending increase of 281%, making total ad spend around $282 million this year. This has also led to a higher amount of impressions, up 48% to 18.2 billion viewers in the last year.[1] The wide net cast by these mega campaigns undoubtedly includes people who are suffering from, or at risk for, problem gambling, who are being exposed to messaging that could trigger the development or recurrence of gambling disorder.

Though sports betting is still not legal in Florida, access to sports betting is still possible, whether by joining a fantasy league with friends or catching a game at a venue while placing live bets on a mobile device. While this type of betting is more and more socially accepted, it can be just as much a temptation and potentially destructive for those who suffer from problem gambling as other types of gambling. In fact, sports bettors were found to be three or more times as likely to report frequent risky behaviors than non-sports bettors.[2]

Running Defense

Don’t worry — we’ve still got the home field advantage. With the right resources and a steady support system, recovering problem gamblers can run from the temptation of placing bets on so-called “sure things.” Help is available 24/7 with the 888-ADMIT-IT HelpLine, a confidential and multilingual hotline that was designed to help Florida residents find necessary help and local resources, so they can break free from harmful behaviors. Even if you aren’t dealing with these behaviors personally, you can take advantage of this free resource to learn more insights about the disorder and how to identify the stages in loved ones that may be at risk.

While there are things that are out of our control, there are simple steps you can take to improve your circumstances and decrease the likelihood of falling into old behaviors. The path to recovery isn’t static, but you can wake up each day and choose to pursue activities and relationships that benefit your emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and financial health.

The best part? You don’t have to do it alone. Reach out to the people around you for support when you’re not feeling your best or call 888-ADMIT-IT to get truly impactful assistance. Whether you’re going on a run or grabbing a cup of coffee with an old friend, small steps can lead to positive change.

Something we’ve seen that’s helped people suffering from gambling problems to overcome the temptation that creeps in during certain scenarios — whether it’s Monday night football or the casino table — is visualizing the life you want for yourself. Curb negative or destructive thoughts as soon as they enter your brain and redirect your mind to the life that’s possible when you take the first step out of problem gambling today.

What is determinates your buy-in preferences in poker?

What is determinates your buy-in preferences in poker?

The amount of the buy-in you make is a vital issue to consider when you play poker. The range can differ due to certain factors – some of which you can find below.

1.         Main factors

In poker, buy-in shows you the amount of money you should pay to buy into a poker game. Usually specific rules set out in connection with the poker buy-ins and the amount of money you are entitled to put on the table and play with. Below you can find some of the factors being considered the most important regarding the amount of the buy-in:

a) Bankroll

The amount of your buy-in will strongly depend on the amount of the bankroll that is available to you. In the case, there is a huge bankroll you have, the possibility of a bigger amount of buy-in (above 100 big blinds) is greater. It is really important to set a rule for you that no matter what the amount of money you put into your poker bankroll is not more than 5% of your money. Remember – just as in almost every situation in life, there are ups and downs in poker as well. What you have gain during some hands you can easily loose only in one. The amount of bankroll shall not exceed such amount that you cannot afford to lose.

The size of your bankroll is also depending on your personality. If you are calm and rational then probably a deep stack strategy would be a better fit for you which needs a bigger bankroll. However, if you are a hot head you ought to have a smaller buy-in to play.

b) Skill level compared to others

Once you decided the size of your bankroll, your skill level is another vital factor that determines the amount of the buy-in. If you have a skill level that brings you to the upper end of the poker players at the give table then it is advised to have a bigger buy-in however, if you are at the lower end then you should do the opposite and have a smaller buy-in (below 50 big blinds).

c) Time to play

Time has always importance – everywhere. Also in poker – if you have enough time to learn and train yourself, because nobody born to be a pro poker player, you can have a bigger buy-in from which you can experience and gain knowledge. If you have less time, you are probably aiming to have as much money as you can have in a short period of time and go for a double-up.

2.       Other factors

Moreover, you should also take a look at the rake if you are thinking whether or not to buy-in short or deep. At lots of live cardrooms (also online), there is a very little chance to play in a profitable way if you have a short stack due to the rake that will vanish your profit. Therefore you should carefully examine the given poker room before you sit in.

3.       Conclusion

I do hope that the above factors present you a good guide in order to decide based on the above the amount of buy-in you should have. What you really have to keep in mind is that you should enjoy playing poker and honestly you can do it if the money that you maybe lose is not essential to you.

Stunning Model for Cards Gambling Tattoo Sleeve

Tattoos are not what they used to be, and you know it. Due to the technical and cultural evolution of tattooing, you can encounter millions of tattoos of all kinds. Of course, there are different themes and stereotypes of tattoos and the people having them. The different styles often speak for themselves. In this article, we will tackle the subject of gambling sleeve tattoos that you will encounter while searching for your design.

Gambling Tattoo Sleeves – How to Choose Design

If you have plenty of tattoos, you will know how to pick a model and what to look for, but if you are a novice, we highly recommend paying more attention to what follows. Let’s call this a tattoo guide for choosing the best stencil for you. Right after it, we will discuss the most popular gambling sleeve tattoo designs and ideas. This is how you should stipulate all steps.

Things to Consider
📏 Size and Places: Before looking for designs, you must choose the place and the part of your skin that the tattoo will cover. Based on that, you will select the model just because the look of the tattoos depends significantly on the place you put them. If you have a broader object in your project, you better choose a wider, flat surface like the back, the chest or the thigh. If it’s something more narrow, you can go for the joints. As you will see, many casino players choose exactly gambling tattoo sleeves.
🤵 Work Suitable: This is the second most crucial thing to consider when setting up your first gambling tattoo. If you aim at gambling tattoo sleeves, you should think of your professional carrier because not all occupations allow the presence of tattoos in visible places. If you still want sleeves, you can make short ones, or ¾ of your hand, to cover them even with your sleeves pulled up. Or you can find a job like a music producer or entertainer where tattoos could be part of your style and stage presence.
👴 Future Adjustments & Expansion: Step three is to think about the future and how often you see yourself visiting your tattoo artists. It is a myth that tattoos are permanent. They are at some level, but they don’t stay the same – they age. The simplest tattoos usually stay intact longer. Realism, especially colourful ones, and tattoos with fewer shades and no contrast usually fade away quicker or become blurry with time. Such tattoos need a little touch in a maximum of a decade. People often use such moments to expand their projects and cover whole body parts.
☀️ Sunlight Exposure: If you live in a sunny country or like to have a nice tan, you should aim at more black and grey models because they last longer. Another advice is always to put a sun cream when going out. You are the only person who can protect and preserve them as they are for as long as possible.
💸 Money/Budget: Look, good tattoos cost a lot. Famous tattoo artists are usually booked up for a whole season ahead. Some of them charge per piece and complexity, while other artists charge per hour. If you aim at a gambling tattoo sleeve, you better be ready for a minimum of 12-16 hours of work if there are no colours. With such, it could go up to 30-40 hours, split into 5-6 sessions. The good side is that you don’t need to pay for everything in one go, but you should prepare roughly around £3000.

These were the more technical things you need to know about gambling-themed tattoos and the different techniques used to create them. Tattooing nowadays is an art like any other, and you can find stunning models and designs that can hardly be replicated. It is also an expensive hobby, especially if you want tattoos to be appropriately applied. Now is the time to get to the main points of gambling sleeve tattoos and their diverse designs. There is much to tell you, so we better don’t lose more time.

Gambling Tattoo Sleeve Ideas – All Types of Gambling Tattoos

In the following paragraphs, we will go through all the most popular tattoos that could perfectly fit your gambling sleeve tattoo project. Of course, it is not necessary to be a full or a half-sleeve gambling tattoo. You can choose other places too. In the process, we will give you our advice about the place and the style suitable for some types of models.

Go through the different types of gambling sleeve tattoo designs and learn more about your options and what is most typical for all gamblers. When you are ready with the research, you will have more broad idea of what images you will have inked on you.

Roulette Tattoos

Roulette is one of the most popular casino games nowadays and the preferred tattoo theme for many gamblers who like the ink. This is typically a full-back tattoo, especially if you want to display the whole roulette wheel and board. However, you will see plenty of half-sleeve gambling tattoo models with roulette, but most concentrate on the wheel itself or just part of the whole.

If you want a full gambling tattoo sleeve, it will be best to consider other details you may wish to include and provide them to your artist so he can unite them. It is a myth that each tattoo has meaning. Some of them are just cool, so don’t worry much about it. You can take any of the below-mentioned, and they will fit perfectly to your roulette tattoo.

Card Games Tattoos

You are probably a gambler, and you know that there are different types of players. Some adore simple and quick games. In contrast, others like to play the mind game and go against other players, like poker. Cards and winning combinations like royal flushes, straights, or identical cards like a pair of kings are super popular among card players. Card games gambling tattoo sleeves are pretty popular because they fit nicely on narrow and tight places like arms and forearms.

It really matters which is your favourite card game because you will encounter lots of blackjacks or king and ace combinations. Use your imagination to create one unique model. Remember that the best artists usually refuse to use designs they already tattooed or such done by other artists. Our point is that you need to help your artist in the process of putting together your gambling tattoo sleeve.

Gambling Symbols of Luck

Symbols of Luck

Because tattoos often symbolise something, they are widely preferred by superstitious people like gamblers and card players. Apart from the cards, the boards and other gambling tools and games, you will also encounter many luck symbols. This is where it gets tricky because, from a cultural perspective, there are many of them. Let’s overview the most popular ones.

One of the most famous symbols of luck that will be a great addition to gambling sleeve tattoos is the clover, which originated in the Celtic culture. If you encounter a Japanese cat tattoo, know that they symbolise luck too. In India, that is the elephant. This is far from everything. The horseshoe is also widely preferred by many gamblers, together with the magical number of seven. Let’s not forget the rabbit foot, the rainbow or the eight-pool ball. In some cultures, bugs like beetles and ladybugs are supposed to bring luck.

Depending on your origin and nation, you can combine these luck elements in your gambling tattoo sleeves because they are usually small and super helpful to fill gaps between the main components in your project. It is hard to have unique tattoos nowadays, but you can easily personalise your project by adding things typical to your culture and mindset.

Classic Slot Machine in Play

Slot Machine Tattoos

The slots are also a perfect gambling tattoo idea because they have rows, reels and many icons from fruits and numbers to card signs, BARs and all types of modern slot gameplays. You will rarely encounter single slot machine tattoos. Most are part of a bigger gambling hand tattoo or whole back piece. The fans of such games have multiplied ten times since the appearance of top-rated online casinos in the UK, because the optionality to play slots remotely is just unique.

Las Vegas Tattoos

Las Vegas is a symbol of gambling and, indeed, the first gambling capital in the world. This is why you will encounter many Las Vegas road signs made into tattoos or part of a bigger gambling tattoo. Sometimes you can even see sights from the city made with ink with all of its lights and glamour. If you plan to add it to your gambling sleeve tattoo, we suggest you use the shoulder as one of the best places to situate it.

Facts About Tattoo You Probably Don’t Know

If you look at the history of tattoos, you will see that evidence of inked people dates from 5300BC, long before the first recorded human writing (2600BC). This proves how long tattooing is part of different cultures. The technique of marking people with ink was used in many countries, but for diverse reasons, not always good ones. For some, tattoos were the signs of fearless warriors, while others marked their slaves with ink. In some African countries, it even evolved into special scarification rituals.

In our modern history, since 1950, tattoos have become part of the inner expression of different personalities. Of course, in the beginning, they were mainly associated with gangs and convicts or rock bands and drugs, but after 1990 the world became more liberal and tolerant towards tattooing. We can’t miss mentioning that this was the decade when it evolved from a culture into an industry thanks to the creation of different types of tattooing machines, healthy inks and other side tools that tattoo artist use.

With all that, the quality of tattoos just started exceeding all expectations. Nowadays, you can find absolutely stunning colour realism tattoos that were not possible a few decades ago. This is also a form of art for many people, making it a super expensive hobby, especially if you want pieces done by the best in the world.

How Would You Play This One?

Putting Bills Into a Machine

I received an email from a player, “Sam,” discussing a promotion that has come and gone, in an unnamed casino in an unnamed state. He wanted to know how I would have analyzed whether or not to play it.

The gist of the promotion was that for two consecutive days, four hours per day, each W-2G received the following free play bonuses:

$1,200 – $4,999 jackpot $250 free play
$5,000 – $9,999 jackpot $500 free play
$10,000 and higher jackpot $1,000 free play

He told me the best game to play, $5 Double Double Bonus (DDB) in the 9/6 pay schedule (98.98%), only came in Triple Play, Five Play, or Ten Play versions. There were four machines in the high limit room with these games on them. (There might have been single line $5 9/5 DDB games, but that game is 1.1% tighter and has a much more difficult strategy.) He didn’t expect much, if any, competition for the machines — but you never know. The slot club benefits are worth a little, but aren’t a major consideration.

He figured it out for single-line $5 9/6 DDB (which didn’t exist at that casino) and the promotion was worth 101.7%. He didn’t have the tools to figure out how much it returned in Five Play, which was the stake he decided upon. (I would probably have played Ten Play, if I had four machines to work with. That way I’d also get W-2Gs on dealt flushes and full houses, while dealt trips which end up with seven trips and three or more full houses also generate a $1,200 or greater W-2G. But I’ll limit the discussion to Five Play. If Sam and I both showed up on the same day and had to share two machines, I would have played Five Play as well.)

a. The return for the Five Play version will be similar to the return for the single line version. The only time it differs is when two or more $1,200-or-higher jackpots happen on the same deal. Like starting out with trip kings and converting two of them to $1,250 quads, where you only get one $250 free play bonus instead of two. If you’re dealt a quad, that’ll move you up to a higher free play level, unless you’re already at the highest level.

While possible, these are fairly rare events. The overlay on this promotion was so large that knowing it was “only” a 1.6% advantage instead of 1.7% wouldn’t affect the decision to play or not play. At least for me.

b. Does Sam file as a professional gambler? If so, gambling wins may be offset by gambling losses. If not, the W-2Gs will generate taxes far in excess of the amount of the free play bonus. Answer: Yes. And for state taxes as well, he can offset the losses against the wins.

c. How fast does the casino process W-2Gs and how are they paid? (This is when I found out there were four machines.) Some casinos let you sign a W-2G at the start of your session and allow you to use your pin number to key off the jackpots into credits. Some casinos pay everything in cash. Some casinos will create TITO tickets for jackpots. Answer: At this casino, each jackpot is paid off in cash.

d. If the jackpots are paid in cash, you want to have $20,000 to $50,000 in TITO tickets prepared ahead of time, and you want to bring along a helper to create TITO tickets out of each jackpot when paid. Answer. He didn’t think of pre-making the TITO tickets, but he had somebody there to create such tickets out of all jackpots. That extra person was able to ‘hold’ a machine by sitting in front of it. That way, once he got two machines, he was guaranteed to be able to keep at least those two. This extra person has a fairly unskilled job to do, but it has to be somebody you trust, and the job is important.

e. Does the state have any withholding on W-2G jackpots? Yes, but it’s refundable when you file your state income tax form at the end of the year. So, not a problem.

f. How well do you know 9/6 DDB? Answer: Sam knows the basic strategy pretty well. He doesn’t know all of the penalty card situations, but figures his accuracy is better than 99.9%. He believed that to be plenty good enough for this promotion. (I agree.)

g. If he loses $40,000 – $50,000 on this promotion, will that cause a problem? Answer: Sam and his wife took $30,000 with them and told each other that if it went, it went. They had no more money on hand and no line of credit available. They wouldn’t be happy about it, but it wouldn’t be a disaster for them.

h. Does he realize that he will probably lose money during this promotion? Yes, the odds are very nice, but so much of the return is on royals and the premium quads — especially those with a kicker. Dealt regular quads for $6,250 would also be nice. You’ll probably only get 1,200 to 2,000 dealt hands per day, depending on the casino’s staffing and eagerness to work, where the total number of hands would be five times that high. That’s definitely a short-run play and if you don’t get one or more of the good hands, you’re going to lose.

There have been plays where the casino realizes part way through the promotion that they were losing big and the manager told his people to each take some long breaks. There ended up being numerous hands “on the machines,” but not recorded until the staff got around to it. Eventually everybody got paid (some had to wait three hours), but all the relevant machines were tied up and everybody was grumbling. If this happens here, Sam will only get in a few hundred deals — if that. Answer:  Sam has been a professional gambler for a number of years and knows about swings. He and his helper had books to read in case there was a really long wait for services. After the fact, it turned out the casino staff kept working hard and made no effort to slow things down.

i. Had he considered extra big tipping to improve service? Answer: He didn’t, but agrees that if he told all the workers that he’d pay at least $20 for every jackpot, and more for a $10,000 or bigger hit, he might have gotten faster service. But with four machines, it wasn’t really necessary.

j. Does he realize that if he does really well (perhaps a $100,000 dealt royal, or perhaps several $20,000 aces-with-a kicker hands), some casinos kick out players for having the nerve to win so much. Answer: He knows that. He doesn’t think it will be a problem here, but if it does happen, it’s worth it!

Gambling Tattoo Sleeves ✅ Gambling Sleeve Tattoo Designs

Tattoo Artist Applying Ink to the Skin

Stunning Model for Cards Gambling Tattoo Sleeve

BOS Welcomes New Gaming Policy Minister

BOS Welcomes New Gaming Policy Minister

Last month, the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling, Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS) expressed hope that the newly elected government would show more interest in commercial companies and eradicate certain gambling restrictions. Now, the industry’s trade body has given a warm welcome to Nyklas Wykman, the country’s newly elected minister in charge of gaming policy.

Wykman Will Oversee Sweden’s Gaming Regulator

Before being given the prestigious position as the country’s new Minister of Finance by newly installed prime minister Ulf Kristersson, Wykman was a special adviser on tax issues for the country’s former Minister for Finance. Wykman has also been a Moderate Party member of parliament for eight years. In his new role, he will set up and implement policies that will influence the country’s gaming industry. At the same time, he will be responsible for overseeing Sweden’s gaming regulator, Spelinspektionen.

While its relations with the previous administration were not the warmest, the BOS wishes for the new minister to adopt a more favorable position in regard to gambling activities in Sweden.

BOS’ secretary general Gustaf Hoffstedt expressed the trade association’s interest in “having a discussion” with Wykman regarding the way the nation’s gambling policy can be grown to its full potential.

Hoffstedt also wanted to send a few additional messages related to the political and business importance of the gaming industry. He further explained BOS would convey a series of “important messages” during the discussions with the newly elected minister. One of them would focus on the need to protect licensed gambling operators from the effects of unlicensed companies out on the market. Another point of discussion would be related to the need for the state to make new legislation that everyone would have to follow instead of “acting as a commercial gambling company” on its own.

Wykman to Observe the Final Steps of the Stage-2 Gambling Reform

Wykman will also oversee the final proceedings of the State-2 reform of the country’s gambling marketplace. The reform was imposed by the government prior to the relaunch of Sweden’s online gambling marketplace that has been updated in 2019.

The gambling market inquiry Spelmarknadenutredningen initiated the reforms asking for certain licensing regimes for game developers and software suppliers. Additional recommendations included the need for the government to strengthen all advertising safeguards. In this regard, the country was recommended to apply a 06 AM to 9 PM block on online casino ads. Other changes would feature a need for “constitutional safeguards” to be enforced on the Gambling Act, asking future governments to obtain approval from the parliament for any upcoming changes in gambling regulations.
