If you’re at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and are looking for cash game action inside Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, look no further than the King’s Lounge. The stuff of legends, the King’s Lounge is the place to win big pots and make a name for yourself in the cash game community.
While tournaments are, of course, the main draw of the WSOP, here are five reasons players should check out the King’s Lounge this summer.

A Break From Tournaments
Now matter how good a tournament player you are, tournaments are a grind and it is likely you will go on an extended downswing at some point. This can be detrimental to your mindset, and cash games are a great way to take your mind off of things.
Taking a break from tournaments and playing cash games can help you refresh and have some fun. Put No-Limit Hold’em to the side temporarily and play Pot-Limit Omaha or mixed games.
Some other games running in the King’s Lounge include Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better and Stud Mix at various stakes climbing up to betting limits of $75/$150.
Sitting In Luxury
As great as the WSOP is, there is nothing luxurious about sitting in a crowded event center with thousands of other players. A good break from this can be had in the King’s Lounge, which is tucked in the back of the Paris Ballroom and hidden by the banners of players like Phil Hellmuth, Fedor Holz and Aliaksandr Shylko.
The tables in the King’s Lounge are equipped with luxury chairs and there are also plenty of fancy break areas to relax in. If you need a breather from the at-times overwhelming WSOP, step into the King’s Lounge.
Play With Cash Game Legends
If you’ve ever dreamed of playing with a poker legend or your favorite poker pro, the King’s Lounge may be your best bet to do so.
Many of poker’s biggest names have played inside the fabled King’s Lounge, including Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Daniel Negreanu.
Whether you end up a winner or loser in the King’s Lounge, the chance to play or converse with some of poker’s name could make it worth your while.
Table Service
If you’re playing a cash game inside the King’s Lounge, you’ll be happy to hear that players are welcome to full table service, allowing you to order drinks or get a massage at the table.
Cash games are typically a much more relaxed environment than tournaments, giving players a chance to have fun and be relaxed at the table. If you’ve had a stressful WSOP so far, taking some time to relax in the King’s Lounge may be exactly what you need.
Win Massive Pots
Of course, the reason anyone plays at the WSOP is to win some money. The King’s Lounge is one of the best places to do that as high-stakes PLO pots can get up to massive sizes.
If you have the bankroll or can handle the swings, playing high-stakes PLO cash games or other poker variants could be a good way to win (or lose) a pot that you’ll be thinking about the whole summer.

Getting a royal flush at your table is always a bit of a thrill. So, you can imagine how pleased Vasu Amarapu was when he hit a royal flush during the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
What you probably can’t imagine is what it felt like when Amarapu hit a second straight flush just three hands later.
Amarapu was playing in Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better when, during a round of Omaha, he picked up A♦10♦XxXx. His hand couldn’t have hit the board of Q♣J♦K♦2♦Q♦ harder.
What’s Cooler Than One Royal Flush?
That first royal flush did especially well by Amarapu. Because, in an additional stroke of luck, his opponent had two kings in the hole. With the top full-house in their hand, that opponent was willing to put plenty of chips in the middle, paying Amarapu off nicely.
Amarapu had barely finished stacking his chips from that big win when, three hands later, he picked up K♥J♥Qx10x. This being an excellent Omaha hand, he went to the flop of Q♥A♥3x, picking up straight, flush, straight flush, and royal flush draws. Naturally, he stuck with it until everyone folded on a turn of 10♥.
The royal flush’s statistical rarity and hand-strength supremacy — not to mention its many appearances on film — give it a certain mystique. There are just four ways to make a royal flush (one in each suit). So, even with the extra pair of cards in an Omaha hand, the odds of one player getting two such rare hands in so short an order are vast and immense.
Amarapu was sufficiently moved by the statistics to show his hand, which was caught on camera as the table looked on in disbelief.
Lucky Man
Amarapu is no stranger to the occasional run of good luck.
In 2021, he won his way into the WSOP Main Event for just $50 through a GGPoker promotion that he read about on PokerNews. He ran deep that year, making it to within a few places of the final table (13th place).
In the process, he turned his $50 into $470,000.
This year his Main Event run ended in 1,362nd ($15,000), which freed him up to enter Event #87. Perhaps this was its own kind of good luck as he survived Day 1 with 99,300 in chips. That’s enough to put him in 36th place with 247 players remaining in the field.
He’ll be back on Day 2 with an eye on the $221,733 first prize and, of course, the gold bracelet.
You can follow Amarapu’s progress in Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better with PokerNews‘s live reporting of the event.

How to Play Rainbow Riches
Like all the best online slot games, the beauty of Rainbow Riches is that it’s easy for any player to play!
Firstly, before you start spinning, players must decide how many lines they wish to play and what they’d like to bet on each line. There are varying numbers of paylines depending on the Rainbow Riches game you play, with players able to determine the number prior to each spin all the way down to a single line. Similarly, a bet per line is adjustable too and can start at 1p ranging to £25. For example, betting 10p per line on 20 lines would result in a total bet of £2 per spin – a figure easily visible to the player at all times.
Once these amounts are settled on, now the fun can begin! A standard winning combination in Rainbow Riches consists of at least three matching symbols, ordered consecutively and from the left to right position. These may also be combined with Wild symbols, powerful tiles that can generate big prizes when situated in the correct order.
However, the greatest rewards come when you trigger any one of Rainbow Riches’ dazzling trio of bonus rounds – the Pots of Gold bonus, the Wishing Well Bonus, and the Road to Riches Bonus.

Rainbow Riches Bonus Rounds
Rainbow Riches is famous for its incredible bonus rounds, which can boost winnings and provide the thrill of big wins. In the following section we will discover what they are, how you trigger them, and the fantastic rewards on offer.
Rainbow Riches Pots of Gold Bonus
Activating the famous Pots of Gold Bonus can result in mega-wins at Rainbow Riches, giving you the chance to spin a cash wheel that’s returns are multiplied by anywhere from 30x to 5000x your total stake.
A minimum of three Pots of Gold tiles will activate the bonus, while spinning four tiles will add to the multiplier further. Landing five Pots of Gold icons triggers the Pots of Gold Super Bonus Feature, which unlocks the highest levels on the cash wheel multiplier.
See below for details:
Pots of Gold Bonus
3 Pots of Gold
4 Pots of Gold
5 Pots of Gold
Bonus Feature
30x-1000x Multiplier
40x-2000x Multiplier
Super Bonus Feature
50x-5000x Multiplier
Generous and exciting, triggering this remarkable feature gives Rainbow Riches players the opportunity to win vast amounts in one spin.
Rainbow Riches Wishing Well Bonus
Spinning three lucky Wishing Wells symbols activates the Wishing Well Bonus on Rainbow Riches, a pay line multiplier that can turbocharge your winnings. After revealing three wishing well icons, players will be asked to choose one tile which will contain a multiplying number hidden behind it. Choosing your selected icon will show the other two left unpicked, revealing if the Luck of the Irish was on your side.
Whatever winnings you made on that spin will then be multiplied by your chosen Wishing Well Bonus, potentially resulting in giant returns that significantly boost your bankroll.
A mere spin away, will your wish come true when you toss your penny into the wishing well?
Rainbow Riches Road to Riches Bonus
The roads are paved with gold at Rainbow Riches with the enthralling Road to Riches Bonus. Revealing the lucky leprechaun three times will trigger this feature, where you will be transported to a magical road where you’ll spin for steps along a trail of increasing multiplier bonuses. The aim is to reach the gigantic pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, which represents a 200x multiplier bonus.
The cheeky leprechaun determines how far you make it along the road, spinning the steps wheel until you land on the Collect segment, which will stop you wherever you are. At first, your multiplier jumps up in small increments, but should you make it past the first few steps, rapid increases start to take effect.

The Best Rainbow Riches Slots
With so many choices, you may be wondering which is the right Rainbow Riches slot for you. Fear not, as we run through a selection of some of our favorite Rainbow Riches games, thoroughly tested by the PokerNews team.
Jump to your favorite Rainbow Riches slot using the list below:
Rainbow Riches
Rainbow Riches is the oldest Slot in the series. It has a simple structure and 20 paylines. Min bet per line is 0.01 and maximum is 25.
The Slot features not one but three scatters:
Road to Riches scatter
Wishing Well scatter
Pots of Gold scatter
Land three of either scatters and it will trigger the corresponding feature. The Road to Riches bonus triggers a bonus wheel which you spin to collect cash prizes.
The Wishing Well is a pick-an-object game where you choose one of the wishing wells, each hiding a multiplier.
Finally, the Pots of Gold feature brings up three pots of Bronze, Silver, and Gold. They spin until one stops and awards you with a multiplier.

Rainbow Riches Reels of Gold
Rainbow Riches Reels of Gold is an exceptional Slot with two-reel structures and lots of unique bonus feature.
The first structure has five reels and four rows and the second one five reels and 12 rows.
They both spin at the same time and combines a total of 100 winning combinations. Both reels feature colossal symbols of the Leprechauns, wilds, and bonus symbols.
Reels of Gold has a randomly triggered feature – Fairy Bonus. A fairy flies on the screen and gifts you with a bonus:
Magic Wilds – blocks of wilds fall on the reels
Wild Burst – the fairy summons butterflies that land on some symbols and turn them into wilds
Magic Symbols – card symbols transform into wishing wells
Reel Win Multipliers – any reel wins get multiplied up to five times
Super Wild Stacks – blocks of wilds expand vertically
Balloon Bonus – fairy adds an extra Balloon symbol that triggers free spins
Reel Win Shuffle – fairy shuffles the reel to align them in a winning payline
There is also a pick-an-object game where you choose balloons to get free spins as well as gamble features.
Play Rainbow Riches Reels of Gold Here!
Rainbow Riches Pick & Mix
Rainbow Riches Pick & Mix starts differently than the other Rainbow Riches free Slots.
You get a choice to make. Five bonus games are presented and you can choose up to three of them to trigger them more often.
Bonus games include:
Road to Riches feature
Pots of Gold feature
Free Spins feature
Cash Drop feature
Magic Toadstool feature
If you land three of the bonus symbols, you trigger the corresponding feature. If you land four – a super mode of the mentioned features.
If you land five, instead of the bonus you trigger cash prize of 500 times your bet.
First two bonus games trigger the classic Rainbow Riches features: the Road to Riches brings up the wonder wheel again and the Pots of Gold bonus – spinning pots with hidden multipliers.
Free Spins bonus is pretty straightforward – it can reward you with up to 30 free spins.
Cash Drop bonus can give you a multiplier up to 10 times. Meanwhile, Magic Toadstool brings out a fairy, a multiplier, or a cash prize.
Play Rainbow Riches Pick & Mix Here!
Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns
Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns is the most unique game in the series. It’s not a Slot game per se but an instant win Casino game instead.
There are no reels or paylines in this game. You jump from platform to platform while collecting power-ups and avoiding obstacles.
Power-ups include horseshow, balloon, magic hat, and hearts. Obstacles – black hat, cracked mirror, snake, and number 13.
See the superstitious pattern?
Bets start at 0.10 per round. You need five successful jumps to win.
Power-ups help you to defeat the obstacles. But if you jump on a platform with an obstacle without a power-up up your sleeve, you fall down and lose the bet.
Play Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns Here!
Rainbow Riches Free Spins
Rainbow Riches Free Spins Slot is one of the simplest games in the series. Mostly because it’s all about the free spins.
You land bonus symbols and you trigger free spins:
three Free Spins symbols – 10 free spins
four Free Spins symbols – 15 free spins
five Free Spins symbols – 20 free spins
The bets start at 0.1 and go all the way up to 500. If you play Rainbow Riches Slot with max bet, you can win up to 250,000.
Play Rainbow Riches Free Spins Here!
Rainbow Riches Fortune Favours
Rainbow Riches Fortune Favours is one of the highest paying free Slots in the series. With a return to player of 97.7 percent, you will definitely feel as if favoured by fortune.
It’s also a very simple Slot. No overcrowding with too many reels, paylines, or bonus features.
It has one, though, Magic Fairy Bonus.
When the fairy appears, it transforms one symbol on the screen into a mystery symbol. If there are two fairies at the same time, two symbols become the same mystery symbol for a greater chance of a win.
If you bet big, you trigger Big Bet games, featuring wilds and even more fairy symbols.
Play Rainbow Riches Fortune Favours Here!
Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold
Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold brings more rainbow and more riches to the free Rainbow Riches Slot games.
It features an extra reel structure with only Pots of Silver and Pots of Gold symbols.
All of the Pot symbols that appear in the drop zone (bottom reel of the additional reels), fall onto the reels. There they work as wild symbols.
The Slot also features a Free Spins Bonus. Land three Bonus symbols to trigger eight free spins, land four to trigger 12, and five to trigger 16 free spins.
Play Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold Here!
Rainbow Riches Leprechauns Gold
The latest addition to the free Rainbow Riches Slot series is the Leprechauns Gold Slot game.
Like other games in the series, it has all the familiar Rainbow Riches symbols. But the bonus features are brand-new:
Lucky Leprechauns Bonus
Rainbow Ring Bonus Spinner
Lucky Leprechauns Bonus is a random feature that adds more bonus symbols to the reels.
Rainbow Ring Bonus Spinner is an upgrade of the previous bonus. When three bonus symbols appear on the reels, a rainbow with symbols starts spinning.
The rainbow stops, the symbol to which arrow is pointing is awarded. It can also trigger a Mystery bonus, Wild Rover Bonus populating random reel positions, and up to 25 free spins.
With the last free spin, the Wishing Well bonus is triggered. You take a pick from three golden coins. They can reward you with extra spins or a multiplier.

The largest poker room in Europe, host of the World Series of Poker Europe, and organizer of the biggest tournaments in Europe is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year.
King’s opened its doors on June, 26 2003. Leon Tsoukernik, an antique dealer and self-made millionaire, had a vision. His dream of establishing a first-rate casino near the German-Czech border has taken the poker world by storm, cementing Rozvadov’s reputation as Europe’s Las Vegas.
Regular poker on a larger scale has been played at King’s since 2006 – the first poker room was on the 1st floor of today’s “old” 5-star rooms. From 2009 poker really kicked off at King’s with the legendary €50,000 GTD King’s Premium tournaments taking place every weekend, boosting the popularity of King’s. Bigger changes in the tournament events were made in 2011 with the introduction of the €200,000 GTD German Championship of Poker Main Event at a buy-in of €1,100 and many other tournament series bringing a wide variety of poker events. In the following years, more tournament series were added, such as the PokerStars Eureka Tour, the German Poker Tour (GPT), and Deutsche Poker Tour (DPT).
In 2014 opened the big Poker Arena, which allowed King’s to have up to 160 poker tables, making it the largest poker room in Europe. A year later, the cooperation with the WSOP started with hosting WSOP Circuit Events at King’s.
2017 stands out as a landmark year for King’s. It opened its doors to a premium 5-star hotel complete with a wellness center, an art gallery, and a gym, elevating the guests’ experience to new levels of comfort and luxury. Additionally, King’s launched a unique Fabergé-inspired casino space, a blend of opulent design and a thrilling gaming experience.
But that’s by far not all, it was also the first year the prestigious World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) took place at King’s. Marti Roca De Torres from Spain won the 2017 €10,350 WSOPE Main Event and the $111,111 One Drop High Roller was won by Dominik Nitsche.
In 2018, Tony G celebrated a legendary birthday party at King’s, which included a PLO Birthday Tournament with a €200,000 GTD prize pool with a special bounty on Tony G’s head.
In 2019 the German Poker Masters saw an all-time-record of 6,961 entries, and the IPS (Italian Poker Sport) with 2,740 entries. In 2020 we saw all-time-jighs at the SPF (Spanish Poker Festival) with 1,718 entries and the GPD (German Poker Days) with 3,143 entries
The World Series of Europe is gaining popularity, and the Main Event sees an increasing number of participants, peaking at 763 in 2022. The winner Omar Eljach from Sweden won over €1.3 million.
The 15th WSOPE tournament series is scheduled for October 25 – November 16, 2023, with the Main Event kicking off on November 11. Players from all over the world head to King’s during the World Series of Poker Europe, players such as Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Tony G, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Adrian Mateos, Chris Ferguson, Hossein Ensan, Fedor Holz, Liv Boeree, Viktor Blom, Shaun Deeb and many more.

There is less than a week of the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas remaining, but the action refuses to slow down. Day 45 of this incredible series had eight events running at one stage, including the record-breaking 2023 WSOP Main Event.
Thai Ha was the day’s only freshly minted champion. They triumphed in Event #83: $1,500 Short Deck, which only needed one-and-a-half days to whittle it 363-strong field to a winner, and not the advertised three. Ha took home their first WSOP plus $111,170 in cold, hard cash after denying David Prociak his second career bracelet.
Kulev is the Man to Catch Going into Day 3 of the $50K High Roller
Alex Kulev‘s rise to the world of high-stakes poker has been nothing short of extraordinary. The Ireland-based Bulgarian has soared through the ranks, and is now only four eliminations away from padding his bankroll with more than $2 million and having a gold WSOP bracelet adorning his wrist, in addition to the title of Event #84: $50,000 High Roller champion.
Kulev (19,800,000) will fancy his chances of glory despite his four remaining opponents reading like a who’s who of the poker world.
Jake Schindler (13,550,000) is second in chips, with Hungary’s Gergely Kulcsar (12,350,000) third. The 2021 WSOP Main Event champion Koray Aldemir (4,000,000) and Daniel Smiljkovic (3,150,000) sit down with short stacks, yet remain dangerous foes.
These five super high rollers return to the fray from 2:00 p.m. local time on July 14 and will play until only one of them has chips. Who will that person be? Return to PokerNews on July 14 to find out.

2023 Main Event is Down to 15 Players; Maceiras Leads
There are only 15 players still with a shot at becoming the champion of Event #76: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship, and it is Spain’s Juan Maceiras (108,000,000) who has one hand on the $12.1 million top prize.
Maceiras sits down on Day 8 with a commanding lead, although the amazing structure of this tournament means nobody is out of the running just yet.
Adam Walton (75,475,000) is in second place at the restart, while Jan-Peter Jachtmann (70,775,000) and Toby Lewis (50,500,000) are incredibly talented players who will influence where this event’s bracelet eventually calls home.
Daniel Weinman (21,750,000) and the aforementioned Jachtmann are the only bracelet winners through to Day 8.
You can feast your eyes on a dedicated Main Event recap right here.

Fagg Leads the Way in the $600 Ultra Stack
Only nine players remain in Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack, and it is John Fagg (91,000,000) that has one hand on the bracelet, and who is wondering how to spend the $401,250 top prize.
Fagg holds a substantial lead over the remaining players going into the final table, with Peyton Ethridge (70,000,000) his nearest rival some 11 big blinds behind. Fagg already has a WSOP Circuit ring to his name, and a bracelet would make a great bedfellow.
None of the players are particularly deep, with third-placed Min-Sung Lee (59,000,000) of South Korea sporting a 30 big blind stack, and three players returning to the action with less than 15 big blinds at their disposal.
Whoever comes out on top will become a WSOP champion for the first time in their careers. Return to PokerNews from 1:00 p.m. local time on July 14 to discover who that champion is.

$3K PLO Ends With Five Players, and Parry Leading
Event #82: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (6-Handed) requires an unscheduled fourth day, as five players still have chips in front of them. Matthew Parry is the chip leader going into the unplanned Day 4, his 13,105,000 stack is worth 82 big blinds.
Parry may hold the chip lead but it is the young man returning in third place, with 8,835,000 chips, that everyone has their eye on. With all due respect, Ian Matakis was a relatively unknown quantity going into the 2023 WSOP, but his performances at the tables have put him on the poker map.
Matakis leads the Player of the Year race by 437 points, thanks to 19 cashes, four final tables, and one bracelet victory. Taking down this event on July 14 will all but guarantee the Minnesota-based grinder will be the 2023 WSOP Player of the Year.
Dustin Goldklang (11,490,000), Cuba Levenberry (4,915,000), and Lawrence Wayne (2,200,000) are the other three players that have reached the finale on merit.
Play resumes at 1:00 p.m. on July 14. Tune into PokerNews to see which of these five finalists gets the job done.

Imsirovic Through to Round 2 of the $1,500 Shootout
Round 1 of Event #85: $1,500 Shootout is done and dusted with 100 of the 987 entrants progressing from their respective tables, locking in a min-cash of $5,759 as a result.
Each of those surviving 100 players will be looking to do the same again; outlasting the nine opponents they’re seated with and progressing to the ten-handed final table where at least $19,003 is up for grabs. The eventual champion receives a WSOP bracelet and $237,367.
The controversial Ali Imsirovic, fresh from his confessions of wrongdoing, made an appearances and progressed from his table. Other top-tier players to look out for on Day/Round 2 include Valentino Konakchiev, Nam Le, five-time WSOP champion Adam Friedman, Faraz Jaka, Yuri Dzivielevski, Chino Rheem, Dinesh Alt, Brian Hastings, Claas Segebrecht, and Jake Schwartz.
July 14 at 10:00 a.m. is when play resumes, and PokerNews‘ live reporting team will be on hand bringing you all of the updates that you can handle.
Zamani Claims an Early Lead in the Poker Hall of Fame Bounty
Martin Zamani busted a poker legend on his way to bagging the chip lead on Day 1 of Event #86: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty. Zamani was responsible for ending Billy Baxter’s run prematurely, and he finished the night with 1,258,000 chips, some 36 big blinds more than Osman Ihlamur in second place.
Fifteen Poker Hall of Fame members entered this event, each with a bounty on their heads worth the year they were inducted. Only Phil Hellmuth (281,000), and Eli Elezra (254,000) made it to Day 2.
The newest Poker Hall of Fame inductee, Brian Rast, fell at the hands of Ferenc Szuchopa. They couldn’t quite put Rast’s chips to good use because they fell before the money places.
Only 150 of the 1,417 entrants bagged and tagged at the close of play. They all return from 12:00 p.m. local time on July 14 to play down to a winner. Stay with PokerNews throughout this remarkable event.

Split Pot Experts Turn Out in Force for the Omaha/Stud8 Event
Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better drew in 460 players and 247 of them progressed to Day 2. The slow structure and split-pot format meant more than half of the players navigated their way through the first day, leaving those with chips wondering how long they will have to grind to capture the $221,733 top rize.
Patrick Leonard (211,500) looks set to be in this event for the long haul because he bagged up the Day 1 chip lead, and was the only player with more than 200,000 chips.
Scott Numoto (198,800), Jude Arena (183,700), Xixiang Luo (181,100), and Maksim Pusarenko (180,200) make up the overnight top five.
Bracelet winners Daniel Strelitz (165,200) and Nathan Gamble (148,000) find themselves in the top ten, while Max Pescatori (122,800), Benny Glaser (105,200), Ryan Hughes (96,200), and Daniel Negreanu (81,800) are still in the mix.
Day 2 commences at 1:00 p.m. local time on July 14, with ten one-hour levels planned. Stay with PokerNews for all of the action, as it happens, from this tournament.

What to Expect on Day 46 of the 2023 WSOP
You would be wrong if you thought that the 2023 WSOP action was slowing down because the curtain comes down on July 18. It seems that the WSOP does not do slowing down, in fact, Day 46 of the series looks set to be one of the busiest days yet!
All eyes will be on Event #76: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship, and rightly so because by the end of night, the final table should be set! We cannot wait for that to happen because it is a magical time for any poker player or fan.
You will read all about how Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack, and Event #84: $50,000 High Roller awarded their respective bracelets, the latter paying out a whopping $2,087,073 to its champion. Event #82: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (6-Handed) will also conclude.
Event #85: $1,500 Shootout will play down to a final table, while Event #86: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty and Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better continue trimming their fields.
Three more events start as the weekend approaches. First, there is Event #88: $1,500 The Closer, although it does not close the series, so is a bit of a weird name.
Then there is Event #89: $1,000 Flip and Go Presented by GGPoker, which you may recall Scott Seiver firing 43 bullets at in 2022 and not reaching the “go” stage! Seiver will be hoping to spend a little less in 2023.
Rounding out the new tournaments is Event #90: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em Championship, which is nailed on to bring out the big guns.

Seven tournament days have concluded for the largest WSOP $10,000 Main Event in history, and the gargantuan field of 10,043 has been whittled down to the final 15 contenders. They are competing for a large portion of the $93,399,900 prize pool at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, but the eventual winner won’t be crowned for another four days in the Thunderdome.
Juan Maceiras entered the day second in chips and proceeded to dominate throughout the five 120-minute levels en route to claiming 108,000,000 in chips. His father was also a poker aficionado, and he passed on the reign to his son, who was a PokerStars sponsored pro in Spain and is the odds-on favorite to become the new world champion.
Adam Walton soared into second place in the final hand of the night when he flopped a full house against the turned flush of Anirban Das to end the day with 94 big blinds for Day 8. Walton was supported by a boisterous rail not only today and will certainly hope to have their back in the Horseshoe Event Center for the remaining three tournament days.
“It’s really fun. It’s fun to have everybody here hanging out. It’s a very rare experience to be able to do this in the Main, so I’m having a blast. Having the time of my life,” Walton mentioned once the emotions had settled down after bagging and tagging.
Germany’s Jan-Peter Jachtmann is one of two WSOP bracelet winners still in contention and occupies the final spot on the overnight podium. The Hamburg-based marketing manager usually prefers the great game of Pot-Limit Omaha in which he triumphed back in 2012, taking down Event #39: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship for a career-best score of $661,000. He has a decent shot at surpassing this payday by a significant margin in the days to follow, thanks to amassing 70,775,000 in chips so far.
Daniel Weinman likewise won his first bracelet in the four-card variant during the 2022 WSOP at the very same venue and sits in the middle of the pack with 21,750,000 in chips.
Arguably one of the most well-known contenders still in the mix is the English poker pro Toby Lewis, one of four Brits with chips at their disposal. He once again made a big lay down and correctly folded the top two pair in a large pot against Jachtmann. Lewis was left with 22 big blinds on the final three tables, more than enough to spin up thanks to the deep structure of the event, and he finished a topsy-turvy day with 50,050,000, good enough for fifth place.
He will be joined by fellow countrymen Sachin Joshi (27,775,000), Dean Hutchison (17,500,000), and Jack O’Neill (11,700,000), while Andrew Hulme was eliminated in 18th place in the final level of the night.
Another late casualty on Day 7 was Russian poker pro Andrey Pateychuk, who had already racked up $5 million in tournament cashes on the live poker circuit prior to this deep run. One of his eight six-figure scores came in the 2011 WSOP Main Event, in which he finished in 15th place for $478,174. Pateychuk reached the final two tables once again a decade later but had to settle for 17th place this time.

Day 6 chip leader Joshua Payne retained his chances of reaching the nine-handed final table but dropped back into the middle of the pack. The same also applies to seasoned pro Alec Torelli, who required several double-ups when getting short to advance and return another day.
The final 15 hopefuls are set to return at 2:00 p.m. local time on July 14 and the returning blinds for level 36 will be 400,000-800,000 with a 800,000 big blind ante. Day 8 is scheduled to conclude when the nine finalists for the official final table have been determined, who then get one day off prior to the grand finale, which is then spread across two final days.

Everyone is now guaranteed $430,200 but there is $12,100,000 waiting for the champion.
The $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour (WPT)Everyone for One Drop at Wynn Las Vegas began with 1,676 entries, but after Thursday’s Day 3, it’s down to the final table of six. The player best positioned to make a run at the $2,561,480 top prize is Bin Weng, who leads with 21,025,000 (84 bb).
It marks the third WPT Main Event that Weng has not only made the final table but also with the chip lead. Prior to the World Series of Poker, he did so in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, which he won for $1,128,250, and WPT Choctaw, where he placed fourth for $143,000.
Others still in contention include Niko Koop (14,825,000), Scott Baumstein (10,975,000), Freddy Heller (9,300,000), Dominik Nitsche (8,125,000), and Tom Cannuli (2,800,000).

Day 3 began with 71 players, but along the way, many notables hit the rail including Stephen Chidwick (16th – $132,060), Darren Elias (19th – $107,900), Paul Volpe (22nd – $89,080), Bryce Yockey (32nd – $74,300), Stephen Song (39th – $62,620), Martin Finger (46th – $53,340), Adrian Mateos (57th – $39,980), and 2022 WPT World Champion Eliot Hudon.
As for Elias, a four-time WPT champ, he exited in Level 26 (40,000/80,000/80,000) when, according to the WPT Live Updates, he moved all in for 1,365,000 from the small blind with the J♥10♠ and Heller called from the big blind with the A♣8♠. The K♣Q♦6♣ flop gave Elias an open-ended straight draw, but he missed as the K♥ bricked on the turn followed by the 5♥ on the river.
Volpe met his demise after running pocket queens into the kings of Hannes Jeschka, while Song was done in after losing a race with pocket nines against the ace-jack of Chidwick.
Earlier in the day in Level 21 (15,000/25,000/25,000), Joey LeBrun min-raised to 50,000 under the gun, and Hudon, who back in December won the WPT World Championship at Wynn for $4.1 million, defended his big blind to see a flop of 10♣9♣4♣. Hudon checked and LeBrun bet 40,000. Hudon woke up with a check-raise to 90,000 and then called off for around 300,000 when LeBrun jammed.
Hudon tabled the 10♠8♣ for top pair with a flush draw, but he was way behind as LeBrun rolled over the K♣K♠, which held.
Day 4 of the tournament will take place at 1 p.m. local time on Friday and will be live streamed on a 30-minute delay. The final six are guaranteed $524,500 in prize money, but of course each are hoping to lay claim to the $2,561,480 first-place prize.
Additionally, the $111,000 WPT Alpha8 for One Drop will take place July 14-16.
