Revealing Who Has The Biggest Hands In The NBA

Family measure themselves against Giannis Antetokounmpo

Size matters, especially in the NBA. In this league full of giants, being big is almost a non-negotiable – the average height of an NBA player (6’6.5″) is 8 inches more than an average American male.

But it’s not just their height that’s above average. In this article, we’re going to look at the players with the biggest hands in the NBA.

10. Wilt Chamberlain: 9.5″ x 11.5″

  • Hand size: 9.5 inches (hand length) and 11.5 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 7’1″
  • Wingspan: 7’8″

Wilt Chamberlain is a true NBA legend, and his athleticism and physical stature were a huge part of his dominance over league rivals in the 1960s. He was 7’1″ and had a giant hand span of 11.5 inches, which helped him score the record number of points in a single NBA game (100).

9. Kawhi Leonard: 9.75″ x 11.25″

  • Hand size: 9.75 inches (hand length) and 11.25 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’7″
  • Wingspan: 7’3″

The first active NBA player on our list, Kawhi Leonard, is known as one of the greatest defensive and clutch performers in modern NBA history. A double NBA Champion and Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard’s hand length of 9.75 inches undoubtedly gave him an advantage over many of his rivals.

8. Michael Jordan: 9.75″ x 11.38″

  • Hand size: 9.75 inches (hand length) and 11.375 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’6″
  • Wingspan: 6’11″

It’s not exactly a shock to see His Airness on an all-time NBA list. However, given his average height by NBA standards, it’s incredible to think he has a hand span that’s nearly a foot long, making him number eight on our list. His legacy and impact on basketball is unmatched, but many people don’t know the impact Michael Jordan’s hand size had on his ability.

7. Julius Erving: 9.5″ x 11.75″

  • Hand size: 9.5 inches (hand length) and 11.75 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’7″
  • Wingspan: 6’11″

Just like Kawhi Leonard and Michael Jordan, Julius Erving is another entry on our list that has humungous hands relative to his height. Standing at a modest 6’7″, Dr. J has a hand span of 11.75 inches, which allowed him to wow fans with incredible athleticism and dunking ability.

6. Noah Vonleh: 9.75″ x 11.75″

  • Hand size: 9.75 inches (hand length) and 11.75 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’10″
  • Wingspan: 7’4″

Noah Vonleh played in eight NBA seasons for eight different teams. He averaged less than 5 points per game during his NBA career, so will probably be most remembered for his giant 11.75 inch hand span. Vonleh is still an active professional and now plays for the Shanghai Sharks in the CBA.

5. Connie Hawkins: 10.5″ x 11″

  • Hand size: 10.5 inches (hand length) and 11 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’8″
  • Wingspan: 7’1″

After overcoming a ban early in his basketball career due to his alleged involvement in a college basketball point-shaving scheme, Connie Hawkins went on to become a four-time NBA All-Star between 1970 and 1973. He had the second largest hand length of any NBA player in history (10.5 inches).

4. Gregory Smith: 9.8″ x 12″

  • Hand size: 9.8 inches (hand length) and 12 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’10
  • Wingspan: 7’3″

Gregory Smith is the first name on our list to have a foot-long hand span, which helped him forge a successful career as a professional basketball player, where he spent five years in the NBA. After leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2016, Smith played for teams worldwide, most recently for Mineros de Zacatecas in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo: 9.85″ x 12″

  • Hand size: 9.85 inches (hand length) and 12 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 6’11″
  • Wingspan: 7’3″

Giannis the “Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo got his nickname for good reason. Giannis’s hand size and incredible stature have helped him become one of the superstars of the NBA since being drafted in 2013. A two-time MVP, Giannis has relied on his incredible athleticism and all-round skills to turn the Milwaukee Bucks into a consistent Championship threat.

2. Shaquille O’Neal: 10.25″ x 12″

  • Shaq hand size: 10.25 inches (hand length) and 12 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 7’1″
  • Wingspan: 7’7″

When you think NBA big man, you probably think Shaq. A giant in every sense, Shaq’s physical presence and athletic ability made him one of the greatest centers to ever play the game. Shaq’s hand size comes in at a whopping 10.25 inches in length with a 12 inch span.

During his glittering career, he got those massive hands on trophies for an incredible four NBA championships, three finals MVPs, and one league MVP.

1. Boban Marjanovic: 10.75″ x 12″

  • Hand size: 10.75 inches (hand length) and 12 inches (hand span)
  • Height: 7’4″
  • Wingspan

Serbian Center Boban Marjanovic isn’t exactly a house hold name, but he does have the biggest hands of any NBA player in history. Despite having the biggest hands in the NBA and a height of 7’4″, he’s not even close to being the tallest player in NBA history (7’7″).

Boban Marjanovic’s hands have helped him average 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per regular season game over a nine season career. Will there ever be a player with bigger mitts than the Serbian in the NBA? Only time will tell.

How Is Hand Size Measured?

A quick note on how hand size is measured for basketball players.

Scouts for each of the NBA franchises want to know the hand sizes of potential players, as it’s easier to control and manipulate a basketball if you can grip it more fully. There are two measurements taken for prospective NBA players hands during the league draft combine. They are:

  1. Hand length: This is the distance from the tip of the middle finger to the base of the palm, where it meets the wrist.
  2. Hand span: This is the distance from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the pinky finger, with the hand outstretched.

A Final Word

If you’ve ever visited the NBA store in New York, you will have seen the incredible hand prints of famous players and had the chance to compare your hands to theirs. This probably made you feel pretty small, and maybe our list did too, but don’t worry, you won’t have to go onto the court with them anytime soon!

Who has the biggest hands in NBA history?

Boban Marjanovic has the biggest hands in the NBA. The Serbian Center has played for several years in the NBA, and is currently on the Houston Rockets roster.

Who has the smallest hands in the NBA?

TJ McConnell has the smallest hands in the NBA of any current player. The Pacers point guard has a hand span of just 7 inches and a hand length of just 7.5 inches.

Who has bigger hands: Kawhi or Michael Jordan?

Michael Jordan has slightly bigger hands than Kawhi Leonard. They both have a hand length of 9.75 inches, however Jordan has a hand width of 11.375 inches, compared to Kawhi’s 11.25.

How big are LeBron James’ hands?

By regular standards, LeBron James has giant hands, but in terms of the NBA, they’re fairly average. LeBron’s hands are 9.25 inches long, but his handspan is just 9.0 inches. This is relatively small compared to Kawhi Leonard’s 11.25 inch handspan.

How big are Chris Paul’s hands?

12-time NBA All Star and current Golden State Warriors guard, Chris Paul has a reported hand length of 7 inches, and handspan of nine inches. This hand size is small for an NBA player but matches his height of 6ft 0in.

What is Yao Ming’s wingspan?

Former Houston Rockets star Yao Ming has a wingspan of 7ft 5inches to go with his 7ft 6inch height.

What is Michael Jordan’s wingspan?

Michael Jordan has a wingspan of 6’11″ and a hand span of 11.375 inches. This allowed him to control the ball and make life difficult for his opponents on both offense and defense.

Can Kevin Durant palm a ball?

Apparently not. Durant once told reporters that although he stands at 6ft 11inches tall, his hands aren’t big enough to palm a regulation sized, fully pumped up NBA ball.

Kevin De Bruyne Is Best English Premier League Transfer of All Time, Research Suggests

Kevin De Bruyne

The English Premier League (EPL) is commonly referred to as the best and most competitive soccer league in the world, and as a result it attracts the best talent. This Thursday evening will bring around yet another transfer deadline day and no doubt we will witness some exciting last-minute moves.

players whose decision to join a certain club completely changed the course of EPL history

If we take a look back through EPL history, there are a few players whose transfers stand out as the best of all time. While no Premier League player has surpassed Ryan Giggs’ total trophy count, all of which he won at Manchester United, there are other players whose decision to join a certain club completely changed the course of EPL history.

VegasSlotsOnline News has combined stats on transfer fees, trophies won, goals, assists, and clean sheets to determine the best Premier League transfers of all time.

Best Premier League transfers

Professional sports are a results-driven business. While many players made huge impacts at different clubs, we’re concerned with who delivered in the biggest moments and helped their club win trophies.

Eight of the 10 are either on top or high on the list of the most-winning Premier League players ever, while the other two are inarguably one of the two best players in their club’s history and carried their team to greatness with individual brilliance.

Here are the top 10 transfers in Premier League history based on our VSO News research (note: this is only for the Premier League era and doesn’t count the First Division).

Player Club Selling Club Trophies Won Goals (Assists) Transfer Fee
Kevin De Bruyne Manchester City VFL Wolfsburg 13 97 (155) £55m ($69.9m)
Wayne Rooney Manchester United Everton 12 253 (145) £27m ($34.3m)
Sergio Aguero Manchester City Atletico Madrid 12 260 (73) £35m ($44.5m)
Mohamed Salah Liverpool AS Roma 6 204 (88) £36.5m ($46.4m)
Nemanja Vidic Manchester United Spartak Moscow 10 21 (4) £9.5m ($12.1m)
Roy Keane Manchester United Nottingham Forest 13 51 (38) £3.75m ($4.8m)
Eden Hazard Chelsea LOSC Lille 6 110 (92) £32m ($40.7m)
Rio Ferdinand Manchester United Leeds United 10 8 (9) £18m ($22.9m)
Kyle Walker Manchester City Tottenham 14 21 (27) £50m ($63.5m)
Fernandinho Manchester City Shakhtar Donetsk 12 26 (33) £34m ($43.2m)

#5: Nemanja Vidic

Vidic became the first defender to ever claim the Premier League Player of the Year award when he won in 2009 and is still the only defender to ever win twice (again in 2011). He only played at the club for nine years but won 10 trophies and formed arguably the greatest defending partnership ever with Rio Ferdinand.

#4: Mohamed Salah

Salah doesn’t have as many trophies as the other players on the list, but he was one of the most prolific goal-scorers in the world during his peak and helped Liverpool win their first league title since 1990 and first Champions League since 2005. He has finished fifth in Ballon d’Or voting twice, won the Premier League Player of the Season, and won the Premier League Golden Boot three times.

#3: Sergio Aguero

Aguero joined Manchester City at the start of the club’s revolution and led them into the peak of their glory years. Despite being an injury concern, he scored nearly twice as many goals as any other City player and was practically indefensible when he was at his best. He also scored arguably the best goal in the history of the EPL, a 94th-minute winner against QPR on the final day of the season to steal City’s first-ever league title from Man U.

#2: Wayne Rooney

Rooney arrived in Manchester as an 18-year-old and left as the best player in their club’s history. He played on the wing, as a striker, a shadow striker, and attacking midfielder, and still found success in every position. He’s Man U’s all-time leading goal scorer and is the first name that springs to mind whenever the Red Devils are mentioned.

#1: Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne was the best player to grace a Premier League pitch during the 2010s and early 2020s and helped captain one of the most dominant sides in soccer history. He passed the eye test with flying colors and has irrefutable numbers to back up his performances on the pitch. With five league titles in six years and a Champions League trophy to boot, it’s tough to find anything he hasn’t done.

Playing against Burnley on Wednesday, De Bruyne once again proved why he has been so vital to his team’s success.

Honorable mentions

Fernandinho captained Manchester City from their first league title to their current day of dominance. He was often overlooked but made vital contributions for years.

Kyle Walker, one of the two best right-backs in EPL history (alongside Gary Neville) doesn’t have as big of a name as many of his City teammates but has been rock-solid for years.

Rio Ferdinand is one of the best defenders to ever play in the EPL. His track record speaks for itself, and he is one of the most-loved figures at the club.

dragged unimpressive Chelsea teams to trophies and results they would’ve been nowhere near to

Eden Hazard is right up there with Dennis Bergkamp for most technical players to suit up in the league. He often dragged unimpressive Chelsea teams to trophies and results they would’ve been nowhere near to without him.

Roy Keane won seven league titles and 13 trophies—but even more impressively, he was Man U’s captain for the majority of those conquests. He wasn’t as technically outstanding as other midfielders but had an engine and relentless attitude that defined those United teams.

Where Do Casinos Keep Their Money? ✔️ Vaults and Security Systems

Inside of a Casino

The sound of slot machines, the soft shuffle of cards, and the clinking of chips create an ambiance that draws millions of visitors to the casino each year. Huge amounts of cash pass through these venues daily, so they need to employ strict security measures, which we will explore below.

Casino Security Systems

This allure of the casino can also attract individuals with nefarious intentions, making robust security systems an absolute necessity. Nowadays these security systems tend to be sophisticated and multifaceted, encompassing a wide range of technologies and protocols. Have a look at some examples below:

📹 CCTV CCTV is important to deter those with criminal intentions.
🎴 Exclusion Lists Strictly enforced to prevent troublemakers from entering the casino.
🔒 Security Staff There to protect the cash but also other customers.

One of the cornerstones of casino security is closed-circuit television (CCTV). These cameras are strategically placed throughout the casino floor to monitor every nook and cranny. The footage is recorded and stored, providing a valuable record of all activities within the establishment. This helps prevent cheating, theft, and other illicit activities.

Exclusion Lists

Another way that casinos maintain a secure environment is through exclusion lists that include individuals banned from entering their premises. These lists often contain known criminals, card counters, and individuals with a history of disruptive behaviour. They are strictly enforced, which adds another layer of security that casinos use to protect their assets.

Security Staff

Security personnel are also crucial and will be a visible presence in many casinos. They are trained to handle a variety of situations and to respond swiftly to any disturbances or suspicious behaviour. Their presence also acts as a deterrent to potential wrongdoers and ensures a safe environment for patrons and protects the casino’s money.

Casino Cash Handling Systems and Storage

When asking, where do casinos keep their money, it’s important to remember that casinos handle vast amounts of cash, chips, and other forms of currency daily. The efficient management of these financial assets is critical to their operation. Here are some different cash handling systems a casino may use:

  • Casino ChipsCasino chips, like poker chips represent a standard unit of value within the casino. They are used as a form of currency for betting in various table games, such as blackjack, poker, roulette, craps, and baccarat. Players exchange their cash for chips at the casino’s cashier or at designated chip redemption points on the gaming floor. Every chip is traceable and cash transactions must be accurately recorded and stored securely. The slightest discrepancy can result in financial losses and damage to the casino’s reputation. Chip management involves constant tracking, regular audits, and unique designs to prevent counterfeiting attempts.
  • TITO (Ticket-In, Ticket-Out) SystemsMany modern casinos also use TITO systems, which replace traditional coin and cash payouts with printed vouchers. These vouchers can be redeemed for cash at redemption kiosks or at cashier windows, reducing the need for physical cash handling at gaming machines.
  • CashWhile physical cash is still used in many aspects of casino operations, the industry is increasingly moving towards a cashless environment, so the question of where do casinos keep their money does not always apply. Many casinos now offer players the option to use player cards, which are linked to their bank accounts or bank cards, allowing them to load funds electronically and use these funds at the gaming tables and slot machines.

The Casino Vault

Do casinos have vaults? The answer is yes! At the core of a casino’s financial security is the vault. This heavily fortified, restricted area is where the majority of the money is stored. The vault will be equipped with state-of-the-art security measures, including reinforced walls, advanced alarm systems, and access control to ensure only authorised personnel can enter.

To meet the demands of day-to-day operations and payouts to winners, casinos maintain substantial cash reserves in these vaults. These reserves ensure that casinos can cover large payouts and other financial obligations without compromising their financial stability. So, most establishments will have a real casino vault.

Security Measures to Protect the Vault

The security measures around a casino vault are formidable. Access to the vault is highly restricted, often requiring multiple levels of verification, such as biometrics and personal identification numbers. In addition, the vault is under constant surveillance, and any unauthorised access attempts trigger immediate responses from security personnel.

Digital Currency and Modern Trends

In recent years, the casino industry has witnessed a growing trend towards digital currency and modern payment methods. Many casinos now accept digital payments and cryptocurrencies, adding a new layer of complexity to their financial operations. You can also play at online casinos with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Some casinos have started accepting popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as a form of payment, offering a secure alternative to traditional cash or digital payment methods. This trend is expected to continue evolving as technology advances, potentially revolutionising the way casinos handle their money.

Regulatory Compliance

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention regulatory compliance. The UK casino industry operates under strict government regulations to prevent money laundering and ensure fair play. Casinos must adhere to anti-money laundering laws, maintain transparency in their financial transactions, and protect the interests of both the casino and its customers.

UK casinos implement robust anti-money laundering protocols to ensure that their operations remain above board. These measures include monitoring and reporting large cash transactions, verifying the identity of patrons, and cooperating with regulatory agencies to combat money laundering and financial crime.

These strict AML regulations are outlined further in the Money Laundering Regulations of 2017. If a casino has reason to suspect that a customer’s transactions are linked to money laundering, they are obligated to report it to the National Crime Agency (NCA) and cease any further dealings with the customer.

The intricate financial systems in place at casinos have been designed to safeguard the vast amounts of money they handle every day. The combination of high-tech security systems, efficient cash handling and strict regulatory compliance ensures the protection of both casino assets and the interests of the customers.

This brings us to the end of our post, however, if you still have some questions about how casinos store their cash and are wondering, do casinos have vaults? We’ve answered some common queries below. Each answer contains a useful link with more information, so feel free to check them out.

*️⃣ How much cash do casinos keep on hand?

The amount of cash that UK casinos keep on hand can vary significantly depending on the size and type of the casino, its location, and its daily operations. There is no publicly available data that discloses the exact amount of cash kept on hand, but you can find out more about the various ways they handle their cash.

*️⃣ Where do casinos keep their money?

Casinos keep their money in onsite vaults, bank accounts, cash cages, chip trays, and slot machines. They may also use offsite cash processing centres for large cash amounts. Electronic funds play an increasingly significant role in modern casino operations. To remain compliant, casinos must monitor and report large cash transactions.

*️⃣ Do casinos have vaults?

Yes, most casinos have highly secure onsite vaults where they store a significant portion of their cash and valuable assets to ensure that they are safe. These vaults are heavily fortified and equipped with advanced security measures to protect against theft and unauthorised access.
