Hit the Monster Reels in Bloodthirst from Hacksaw Gaming. Expand the monsters and earn a prize worth 20x stake. Go wild in this bloodthirsty new game!

Halloween isn’t for a few months yet, but that hasn’t stopped Hacksaw Gaming bringing out the monster reels for their new Bloodthirst slot. Enjoy high-volatility scares on five reels with a shot at winning a top prize worth 10,000x.

These ghoulish reels feature a host of dastardly demons. You trigger Monster Reels if you land four characters of the same kind on a reel at the same time. The monster will expand and trigger an instant cash jackpot.

For example, you win 15x stake by filling a reel with stacked werewolf symbols and a 20x jackpot by filling a reel with four stacked blue demons. In addition, you trigger a Monster Takeover if you land five matching Monster Reels. You win a mega prize worth up to 2500x stake, depending upon the creature.

You may also trigger free spins by landing four scatters in any position. Win ten free games with one of the high-paying monster symbols acting as the main icon during the bonus. That symbol alone can expand to fill the entire reel it appear on. You may also trigger an Upgrade scatter which shifts the exclusive symbol up to the next highest-paying one in the paytable.

Bloodthirst is certainly a high-variance online slot but it’s one that has the potential for some big payouts. Sink your fangs into this new Hacksaw Gaming slot and play it for free today.

Hit free spins with a 200x multiplier when you play Quickspin’s Book of Inferno slot. Find Anna the Demon Huntress for the biggest wins in this fiery ‘n fiendish new game.

Quickspin’s reputation for action-packed slots laced with booming music and gorgeous graphics shows no sign of waning. Book of Inferno is new out this month and is sure to be a hit at the spring trade shows. And if the fantasy theme doesn’t do it for you, the expanding pay symbols will.

Book of Inferno is a five-reel, ten-line slot featuring a demon couple (the Lord and Lady of Hell) and the Demon Huntress on a mission to vanquish them. There’s also the little matter of the Book of Inferno itself which can unleash unspeakable powers – or free spins, whichever comes first.

There are marked symbols in the game. These symbols expand to cover the entire reel they site on whenever they appear. However, marked symbols must be part of a winning combination. In addition, the marked symbol upgrades to the next one on the pay list if it appears with a book at the same time.

You trigger free spins by landing three or more book scatters at the same time. You can win 10–25 free spins along with a cash payout worth 2x–200x. In addition, you may retrigger free spins by landing three or more scatters. Plus, a random marked symbol is chosen at the start of the bonus game.

Those expanding symbols can really add value to your Book of Inferno experience. And you’ll need them as the game only plays on ten paylines. Give the game a spin for free and see what you think.

Go super-size in iSoftBet’s latest multiway slot, Euphoria Megaways. Trigger up to 14 free spins or bag bonus multipliers for a jackpot worth 729x!

Euphoria Megaways slot reels by iSoftBet

2022 was a good year for Megaways slots, and iSoftBet was there with some great multiway games throughout the year. The developer is continuing the trend with Euphoria Megaways in 2023.

Euphoria Megaways forms part of the new Xtreme Pays Series. You play across six reels and there are up to 117,649 ways to win on each spin. As always, the game uses cascades to determine winners.

After a winning cascade, the symbols disappear to be replaced by the ones sitting above on the reels. Wild symbols also appear on reels 2–5 to complete gaps in your winning combinations.

Look out too for the Max Megaways function. On any spin, Max Megaways triggers to force the reels to play the maximum 117,649 ways to win.

You may trigger the Euphoria Spin at random on any base game spin. This special spin guarantees two or more winning symbols. In addition, star symbols increase your prize multiplier.

There’s also a free spins bonus in this new iSoftBet slot. Trigger free spins with three or more scatters and add a 2x multiplier with any wild star that appears in view. However, this increases to 3x if you land another wild star on the same reel. It’s possible to multiply the multipliers together, up to a maximum of 729x.

There’s always space in the market for some innovative new Megaways slots. Euphoria Megaways continues the trend for some original multiway games for 2023. Make iSoftBet your port of call this week.

Play Mad Joker Zones from RAW iGaming and trigger free spins with multipliers as you spin the wheel. Make side bets or hit the Flaming Zones for even bigger wins.

Mad Joker Zones slot reels by RAW iGaming

RAW is a new slots developer that’s been on a mission to do things a little differently since launching in 2021. And boy, does it do things differently in its new Mad Joker Zones slot.

Mad Joker Zones is a cartoon-themed slot that evokes the legendary baddie from DC Comics. It utilizes RAW’s SuperSlice mechanic which we’ve already seen in games such as Lucky McGee’s Find the Rainbow.

Instead of conventional slot reels, Mad Joker Zones employs a wheel of fortune filled with SuperSlice zones. Prize zones are added to the wheel before it spins. You earn a payout depending on where the wheel stops. You may also bag a multiplier contained within Flaming Zones which trigger at random.

The wheel in Mad Joker Zones also contains sections which can trigger special bonuses. The Blue Joker, for example, triggers respins with multipliers, while the green joker activates free spins. Look out for flaming zones which can boost your free spins wins up to 10,000x.

The ClusterSpin mechanic is another way of enjoying more action in Mad Joker Zones. You have the chance of betting on winning or losing rounds and winning 1000x stake. It’s a side bet that we’ll be seeing a lot more of in 2023.

You’ll love Mad Joker Zones whether you’re a fan of Batman or just a fan of original and innovative slots. Give it a spin for free today.

PAGCOR Contributes Another $4.7M to Philippine Sports Commission

PAGCOR Contributes Another $4.7M to Philippine Sports Commission

The latest remittance of funds to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) demonstrates that the Philippines gaming regulator and operator, PAGCOR, is an important part of the economy and its ways work.

PAGCOR Continues to Support Sports in the Philippines

The regulator has been lambasted by numerous MPs and insiders of the government of President Bongbong Marcos, with many suggesting that many of the existing casinos ought to be shuttered in order to appease China, an important trading and economic partner in the region.

Yet, PAGCOR has withstood much of the criticism and has argued that its model of operation is one that provides benefits to the economy. With efforts to further clamp down on illegal gambling, the regulator feels confident in its long-term vision. In the meantime, PAGCOR remitted $4.7 million to the PSC for November and December 2022.

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said that this amount was only going to improve in the coming months and years. He steered clear of making any political insinuations about recent criticism against the regulator but instead focused on what the watchdog saw as a robust and actionable plan for the future. Tengco said:

With the amount that we remitted, we hope to contribute significantly to the training of our national athletes for various international competitions and to the further development of Philippine sports. Our future remittances will be bigger as our operations are slowly easing back to normalcy.

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco

The donation comes at a time when the Philippines is preparing for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games which will be held in Cambodia. The contributions are distributed under the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act. PAGCOR has also been equally focused on eliminating gambling-related harm.

Gambling a Broader Issue in Philippine Society

The regulator reported that there were 333 requests for self-exclusion in 2022, which is fairly low for a country that has millions of people gambling. Still, this is a 62% increase in the number of people excluded, indicating a shift in consumer awareness of self-exclusion, which is a net positive.

Meanwhile, PAGCOR has cautioned consumers to steer clear of illicit and offshore gambling websites which have been targeting Philippine citizens.

Lazio vs AC Milan Serie A Odds, Time, and Prediction

Lazio vs AC Milan Serie A Odds, Time, and Prediction

Lazio vs AC Milan might not be the biggest rivalry in Italian soccer, but it’s certainly up there. And this time, it’s going to be even more exciting than usual! Why? Because both teams are flying very high in the Serie A standings, each with even higher ambitions for the remainder of the season.

Lazio vs AC Milan Odds

Moneyline Odds
Lazio +225
Draw +240
AC Milan +125
Spread Odds
Over 2.5 Goals -109
Under 2.5 Goals -102

*Odds taken from FanDuel on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

When, Where, and How to Watch?

  • Place: Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy
  • Date: Tuesday, January 24, 2023
  • Time: 2:45 PM ET
  • How to Watch: Paramount+

Lazio are (Almost) Always Great on Their Turf

At Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Lazio are 5-2-2 in the 2022-23 Serie A season. This makes them the fifth-best home side in the competition. They were great on home turf before the World Cup, and we expect them to do even better in the remainder of the season.

So far in 2023, they’ve played only one home game, but failed to win. The game in question is the one against Empoli, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Their second home match in the Serie A this year is on the program on Tuesday when they welcome AC Milan.

With the help of their fans, they look like a team that could give AC Milan a run for their money. History, however, teaches us otherwise. Even though they’re usually great in Rome, Lazio haven’t done much in home games against AC Milan in the last couple of years. In fact, the hosts won only three of the last 10 Lazio vs AC Milan games that took place at Olimpico.

AC Milan Can’t Afford to Lose Any More Points

Ahead of Round 19, AC Milan are trailing by 9 points behind table-leaders Napoli. Sure, there’s plenty of time left for the reigning champs to bridge the gap, but the trouble is that the Sky Blues from Naples are in top form. An even worse problem is that Rossoneri are not.

AC Milan have already played five games in 2023, but they managed to win only one of those. The good news for them is that the win in question happened in Serie A, which is their top priority. Their most recent game, however, was the Italian Super Cup, in which they got hammered by their intercity rivals, Inter Milan. The final score was 3-0 for Nerazzurri.

More bad news for AC Milan is that they got a number of players struggling with fitness. The good news – if you can call it that – is that Lazio too will miss a couple of key men, most notably, their goalscoring maestro, Ciro Immobile.

Lazio vs AC Milan Prediction

If you compare the players of these two teams, you’ll see that there’s not much difference between Lazio and Napoli in terms of quality. Still, we do believe that those playing for AC Milan are slightly better than Lazio’s players.

This, however, doesn’t mean they’re so superior that they can win in Rome. We doubt that can happen, but we also doubt Lazio can win. Instead, the draw seems like the most probable outcome.

Picks: Lazio and AC Milan to draw; under 2.5 goals

Six Operators Secure Temporary Betting Licenses in Massachusetts

Six Operators Secure Temporary Betting Licenses in Massachusetts

The announcement comes after the regulator held multiple meetings and reviewed the applications submitted by the operators. In addition, the MGC reviewed presentations and participated in discussions with each of the operators prior to giving the green light for preliminary suitability.

Following the latest MGC meeting, Bally Bet, DraftKings, FanDuel, Betway and PointsBet have all secured a temporary untethered Category 3 sports betting operator license via a unanimous vote. The sixth operator that secured a temporary license in Massachusetts after a 4-1 vote by the regulator was Betr, a gambling venture by social media star Jake Paul.

The announcement about the preliminary suitability for untethered Category 3 sports betting licenses comes ahead of the planned launch of sports betting in the state. Massachusetts legalized the activity last summer, but only recently, the MGC confirmed it plans to launch retail sports betting on January 31.

On the other hand, mobile/online sports betting is expected to roll out at some point in March this year as well. The regulator vowed to confirm the date at a later point. Considering the latest temporary license approval, the six operators join five other companies that have already secured a license in Massachusetts.

Sports Betting Continues to Expand around the US

Ever since PASPA’s repeal back in 2018, which used to restrict sports betting to a few states, the activity has been expanding rapidly. Overruling PASPA, the US Supreme Court enabled legislators in each state to legalize sports betting, establish a regulatory framework and introduce the activity. As a result, sports betting soared and continues to expand.

By now, according to data from the American Gaming Association, there are 32 states, as well as DC that offer some form of sports wagering. What’s more, there are four states, one of which is Massachusetts, that have legalized the activity and are planning to introduce it. Five other states are currently trying to legalize some form of wagering on sports, while nine states have no ongoing legislative efforts.

The taxation of sports betting creates fresh revenue for counties and states. Besides bringing invaluable economic stimulus, the activity contributes in the form of sponsorship with professional sports teams and leagues. Legal sports wagering also benefits bettors and having multiple operators offering the activity creates a competitive market. At the same time, legalization of the activity decreases the share of the black market or offshore operators and helps protect the well-being of the customers.

AJ “sacakewalk” Sacher Wins 2022 WSOP.com Player of the Year

AJ “sacakewalk” Sacher Wins 2022 WSOP.com Player of the Year

After a long, twelve-month battle against thousands of other players, AJ “sacakewalk” Sacher handily finished atop the 2023 WSOP.com Player of the Year leaderboard for Nevada and New Jersey players to win $10,000 in cash, $1,500 in online tournament tickets, and an exclusive WSOP.com Player of the Year ring.

Sacher follows in the footsteps of both Mike “BrockLesnar” Holtz, who won it last year, and YK “LuckySpewy1” Kwon, who won WSOP.com Player of the Year in 2020. Additionally, he joined fellow 2022 winner David “DrKool” Kuder, who was named the first-ever WSOP PA Player of the Year.

PokerNews recently caught up with Sacher to not only get his thoughts on the victory but also to learn more about the man behind the screen name.

Former Dealer David “DrKool” Kuder Named First-Ever WSOP PA Player of the Year

From Magic to Poker

Sacher, pronounced like soccer, lived in California and Chicago before moving to Vegas about 10 years ago. In his late teens and early 20s, he was a professional Magic: The Gathering player, content creator, and streamer. Now 32, Sacher grinds online poker.

“I come from a card-playing family, so I was always picking up various games,” he told PokerNews. “We still play big card games at family reunions and the like. I ended up falling in love with Magic, and playing that competitively is like training at altitude for poker; there’s a big overlap in the skill sets required for each like weighing odds and inductive reasoning, but Magic is a lot more complicated and ever-changing. That’s why there are a lot of very successful poker players–much more so than me–that come from competitive Magic.”

AJ Sacher

When he was around seven years old, Sacher played poker for the first time, but it wasn’t until his late teens that he discovered online poker. He ground up a small bankroll on Full Tilt Poker, but two days before he turned 21, Black Friday hit.

“While traveling for the Magic Pro Tour, I became good friends with a Japanese pro, Shuhei Nakamura, who also played poker,” Sacher continued. “Since most major Magic tournaments are in the US, he would come here a lot. Rather than take the approximately one-billion-hour flight home only to board another flight back a few days later, we would just come to Vegas together instead. We’d grind live cash during the week before flying to the next Magic tournament on the weekend.”

He continued: “To put multiple very long stories irresponsibly short, I moved to Vegas to play full time, but, upon arriving, I immediately got burgled and my roll was stolen. I was robbed multiple times after that as well, so I have had to start over from zero a few times. Over the next few years, I would play off and on, moving from live cash to online tournaments when WSOP.com became available. When the pandemic hit, I committed to playing full-time again.”

WSOP POY

Unlike some players who set out to win POY from the start, Sacher’s run came towards the end when he realized was near the top of the leaderboard.

“I definitely thought it would be cool to do and definitely checked the leaderboards from time to time, but I’m a big ‘keep your goals actionable, and trust the process’ guy, and I don’t think POY is the type of thing you can really plan for; you just have to put in your volume and work, and at the end of the year, if the results are there, then they’re there.”

AJ “sacakewalk” Sacher

He continued: “It ended up being way too good of a sweat. The race was pretty insane as it really came down to the wire. I actually had a sizable lead by mid-March, but that’s way too early to start watching the scoreboard, which was proven true when I unexpectedly had to take over two full months off. By the time I came back, it was already clear it was going to be a two-horse race between Qinghai “011POKERDR” Pan and myself, but I assumed the gap insurmountable. After a few good months to grind back to the front, I took a big weekend off in October for a family wedding and all he did was go and win a bracelet. I somehow managed to wrestle the lead back by the end of November, but it stayed extremely tight the rest of the way, flip-flopping multiple times.”

Sacher was fortunate to finish the year with a good week and eke it out with a win of less than 300 points. For context, the difference between second place and third was 16,855 points.

“After thousands of hours over 365 days, I had a margin of victory of just one third of one percent,” said Sacher. “It doesn’t get any closer than that. I even got the poetic honor of locking it up by personally knocking him out of the last relevant tournament of the year.”

Place Player Points
1 AJ “sacakewalk” Sacher 75,030.75
2 Qinghai “011POKERDR” Pan 74,768.35
3 Angel “ChromeKing” Lopez 57,913.04
4 Krista “Pollux” Gifford 57,542.61
5 Tony “Panoramic” Dunst 52,243.85
6 Ryan “WhosYourDodd” Dodd 52,082.59
7 Jonathan “Art.Vandelay” Dokler 48,853.98
8 Chris “Basile28” Basile 47,681.14
9 John “Relevancy” Ripnick 43,883.57
10 Thomas “Zebra_Debra” Sabatino 42,584.62

So, what’s next for Sacher?

“I’ll be playing this year, at least for the foreseeable future,” he said. “I don’t have a ton of interest in live poker these days, but I’m not indignantly opposed to it by any means; if the right opportunity were to come along then it’s definitely possible, but it’s not in the plan as it stands. As cool as it would be to go back-to-back, realistically speaking it doesn’t seem very likely. It’s a question that’s basically impossible to answer until like November, but if I can get in enough volume, then who’s to say?”

No Constitutional Changes Needed for Betting in Georgia

No Constitutional Changes Needed for Betting in Georgia

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Melton’s opinion is that the legalization of sports betting in the state should be viewed as an expansion of the lottery.

Georgia Politicians Push for the Legalization of Sports Betting

Recently, there has been an increased push to pass legislation through the General Assembly, with the Metro Atlanta Chamber requesting Melton’s thoughts on the constitutional validity of sports betting.

Due to the fact that amending the state constitution necessitates a two-thirds majority in both legislative chambers and eventually approval from voters, expanding gambling in Georgia has been a difficult task.

Melton, however, believes that a constitutional amendment is not necessary. He stated in a memo that, after conducting a review of the relevant law, the meanings of the applicable terms in their original context, and the historical context of those terms, he believed that sports betting could be made legal as a state-run lottery for educational purposes solely through legislative action.

There has been a lack of consistency among analysts in the Capitol regarding whether the state constitution allows sports betting. In 2019, Legislative Counsel Director Rick Ruskell advised passing a constitutional amendment to legalize sports betting, citing ambiguity in the state constitution’s definitions. According to his comments in front of a panel of lawmakers, he recommended that the wise and safe course of action would be to put the issue to a vote by the people of Georgia through a well-crafted constitutional amendment.

In contrast, in 2020, Atlanta attorney Bruce Brown opined to an anti-gambling group that the law would not survive a constitutional challenge.

Subsequently, some legislators have claimed that legal guidance is not needed to permit sports betting, while others maintain that a constitutional amendment is necessary.

Legislation of Sports Betting in Georgia Did not Happen in 2022

Expanding gambling in the state to include sports betting has been a topic of discussion among lawmakers for years, with the goal being to support education programs funded by the Georgia Lottery, such as the HOPE scholarship.

However, despite this, the legislation has not been able to pass due to disagreement over where the revenue generated from sports betting should go. A bill that seemed likely to pass the General Assembly in 2022 was blocked by the House Rules Committee. Some members of the committee took issue with the idea of using the revenue for need-based scholarships.

Even though Republicans hold a majority in the Legislature, some members have opposed any form of gambling. This means that passing a constitutional amendment would require bipartisan support to reach the two-thirds threshold.

Supporters argue that Georgians are already illegally betting nearly $5 billion a year on sports. A recent poll showed that a majority of Georgia voters support sports betting if the revenue is earmarked for pre-K and higher education programs.

Ohio Regulator Considering Banning Sports Bettors for Online Harassment of College Athletes

Closeup of basketball players going for a rebound

Considering the idea

The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) is considering banning sports bettors in the state who have been found have harassed college athletes through social media.

unable to legally place bets at any of the sportsbooks

OCCC executive director Matt Schuler spoke about the topic on Wednesday, saying that he will possibly ask the commission to consider putting any sports bettor in Ohio who makes violent threats or harasses college athletes over a sports bet on an exclusion list. This would mean that they would be unable to legally place bets at any of the sportsbooks in the state.

It is unclear how long such an exclusion would be in place. Talking about the possible harassment ban at an OCCC meeting on Wednesday, Schuler said: “We don’t have control over people’s behavior, but we do have control over the venues in how they participate.” He had not previously planned to make these remarks during the meeting, but a number of recent incidents prompted him to do so.

An important issue

Schuler was recently made aware of sports bettors violently threatening players on the University of Dayton basketball team. Ohio authorities may need to work with social media companies to help identify the offending individuals.

Despite these remarks, there was no official action taken on the matter at the OCCC meeting, the first of 2023; it had not been on the planned agenda. University of Dayton director of athletics and vice president Neil Sullivan welcomes the idea of protecting college athletes from irate sports bettors.

Concerning incidents

It was during a press conference on Tuesday that the Dayton Flyers men’s basketball head coach Anthony Grant mentioned how numerous team members had received threats of violence after they lost by a point last week to Virginia Commonwealth. The Flyers had led the game by 14 points at halftime. Numerous Twitter comments about the game implied that it had been rigged or talked about lost money from unsuccessful wagers.

Grant called on people to give the team members a break, emphasizing how they are mainly between 18 and 22 years old. Grant believes that the recent launch of legal sports betting in Ohio could “really change the landscape of what college sports is all about.”

already issued numerous six-figure fines to operators for a variety of issues

Sportsbooks launched for the first time in Ohio on January 1. While they have received a lot of support from people in the state, the OCCC has been busy making sure that all operators carry themselves the right way. It has already issued numerous six-figure fines to operators for a variety of issues, including exposing underage people to betting-related ads.
