The new card is issued by Tebca Perú, a leading Fintech company in the country, which will enable consumers to use the card and add an additional layer of security to their comings and goings at iGaming operators.

AstroPay Teams with Tebca Perú for Card Launch

The card is designed to be activated quickly, easily, and without any additional charges to players. It can be used at any merchant that accepts Visa, and the card is also tied to a cashback scheme.

This is part of AstroPay’s broader ambition for the Latin American market where the company is actively seeking to expand. It focuses on consumers without bank accounts and wishes to help them access the digital economy.

AstroPay’s prepaid card will also be available in the local currency, Peruvian Soles, and American dollars. The product was already tested in the United Kingdom and has been deemed a success. Now, AstroPay is hoping to litmus test the card in Peru as a precursor to further growth opportunities in the Latin American region.

Some of the markets Astro will attempt to break into later may include Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico, which are also the largest iGaming and sports betting markets in the region. Commenting on the development, AstroPay’s CTO & CFO Guillermo Dotta hailed the opportunity to see his company’s position in the emerging payment sector in Peru strengthened. He also added:

Standing on our existing operations in the country, we are not only offering our existing and new users a simpler experience with their finances but also creating a frictionless experience for unbanked customers looking to enter the financial system.

AstroPay’s CTO & CFO Guillermo Dotta

Allwyn Secures Approval from UKGC for Camelot Takeover

Allwyn Secures Approval from UKGC for Camelot Takeover

The announcement came Monday and marks a major step ahead in Allwyn’s acquisition of Camelot from the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board. The plan for the takeover was announced after a legal battle between the duo lasted for several months. Ultimately, Allwyn, as the winner of the fourth National Lottery license, agreed to acquire Camelot in an effort to strengthen the Lottery and ensure a smooth transition. At the same time, the company confirmed that the acquisition will bring certainty for good causes and benefit not only Allwyn but Camelot employees as well.

Camelot and Allwyn continue to collaborate for the transition from the third to the fourth National Lottery license. The company’s license is set to expire in one year and starting from February 2024, Allwyn will be in charge of the Lottery under the fourth license. Still, the completion of the acquisition of Camelot is subject to relevant regulatory conditions.

The Acquisition Will Bring Changes to Camelot’s C-Suite

Upon completion of the takeover, Camelot is expected to undergo changes within its management-level and board teams. Neil Brocklehurst and Clare Swindell, who currently serve as Camelot’s commercial director and chief financial officer (CFO) will transition to the roles of co-chief executives. This change will be in effect after the takeover is completed. Then, the duo will lead the company until the third license expires.

Besides the duo, the takeover will implement further changes to the management-level team at Camelot. Sir Hugh Robertson, the company’s current chairman, as well as Nigel Railton, Camelot’s CEO, are expected to step down from its Board. Consequently, Sir Keith Mills is planned to take the position of Camelot’s new chair after the takeover is finalized. Still, this appointment is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

We are thrilled to welcome Camelot into the Allwyn family. We are united by our common passion: to protect and improve The National Lottery, and the good causes it supports.

Robert Chvátal, CEO of Allwyn Group and interim CEO of Allwyn UK

Robert Chvátal, Allwyn Group’s CEO and Allwyn UK interim CEO, acknowledged that the approval from the Gambling Commission marks an important milestone for the company on its way to becoming the next operator of the National Lottery in the UK. He explained that the takeover will help facilitate the license transition while “bringing together the collective expertise and technical know-how of two highly experienced lottery operators.” In conclusion, Chvátal thanked Nigel and Sir Hugh for their dedication which ultimately brought success to the National Lottery.

Casino Feuchtwangen ▶️ Futuristic Casino for Poker, Slots & More

The City of Feuchtwangen

In this blog, we provide you with all the information you need to satisfy your curiosity about Bavaria’s second-largest casino or to decide whether this is the next destination on your travel list. Join us on this exploration, and learn about the casino’s creation, the city it’s located in, the game availability and more.

History & Architectural Style of Feuchtwangen Casino

Feuchtwangen Casino doesn’t boast hundreds of years of history like some other popular land-based casinos in Bavaria. Compared to online casinos in Germany, it has a few more years under its belt, as it was opened in 2000. The idea for the casino, however, was born in 1995, when a new casino law was passed in Germany.

Back then, the number of casinos that could be built was limited and strictly regulated. Nonetheless, in 1995, four more casinos could be added to the existing ones. This allowed the city of Feuchtwangen to become the home of the newest casino in the administrative district of Middle Franconia.

Nevertheless, what matters at this casino is not the past, but the future, as reflected in its modern architecture. Construction began in 1998, but the design was ahead of the times. With a blue futuristic look, made from sharp edges, spacious rooms, and a minimalistic landscape, this 20+-year-old casino stands up to some of the newest constructions in 2023.

Feuchtwangen Casino Location & Amenities

We can’t talk about the Feuchtwangen Casino without discussing the city it was named after. The casino’s history pales compared to its home city and the region. Therefore, in this part of our blog, we look into the significance of the location. Furthermore, if you’re curious about the amenities you can enjoy while visiting this casino in Feuchtwangen, keep reading.

Feuchtwangen – Home of Bavaria’s Second-Largest Casino

Feuchtwangen is not only the home of Bavaria’s second-largest casino but also a cultural and sightseeing attraction. The historic old town part of the city is full of ancient craftsmen’s workshops, churches, museums and beautiful stone gates. So, if you ever decide to visit the Feuchtwangen Casino, you will be killing two birds with one stone.

The recorded history of the city goes back to 818. It was first mentioned in documents concerning the Benedictine monastery. Since then, many historical events have shaped the city into what it is today. We won’t focus on its full history too much, but we would like to mention one appealing site – the open-air theatre.

When we examine the casino, we do it in combination with the attractions in the region. That is why you would be happy to learn that another exciting experience is the open-air theatre performances in the city. The backdrop is a majestic church, and the evening air is filled with romance – the perfect prelude to a memorable night at the casino.

Casino Feuchtwangen Restaurant & Bars

Now that it’s clear what the city offers, it’s time to look at what entertainment amenities Feuchtwangen Casino has prepared for local and foreign visitors. The casino has 4800 square meters of usable space, so there’s a lot to explore. Easily accessed by car and situated right next to the nearby motorway, this casino has a restaurant, two bars, an event stage, and numerous gaming rooms.

The casino and its game collection have been examined in more detail later, so don’t miss that. However, for now, let’s give its restaurant the much-needed spotlight. The Casino Feuchtwangen Restaurant is called ‘Förster’ and offers food lovers a fine cuisine experience. The best online casinos in Bavaria may have more games and offer convenience, but you can’t try delicious German specialities online.

Casino Feuchtwangen – Poker Tournaments, Slots & Table Games

Casino Feuchtwangen has many games on offer, but they can mainly be grouped into three categories – slots, live table games and poker. When it comes to the slots, they have their own floor, and if you want to try them all, you will need a few days since there are over 200 of them.

Next, we have the live table games, which include different variations of roulette and blackjack. The number of tables for each game differs, and the same goes for the Casino Feuchtwangen poker options. However, there’s no need to wonder because we’ve got you covered. Take a look at the list below that provides an overview of all games and the available tables.

  • 🎰 220 Slot Machines (Jackpots, electronic roulette, electronic bingo, keno, video slots and more)
  • 🦅 American Roulette (2 tables)
  • 🥐 French Roulette (2 tables)
  • ♣️ Blackjack (2 tables)
  • ⬜ Punto Banco (1 table)
  • ♦️ Bavarian Stud Poker (2 tables)
  • 🃏 Poker Tournaments (4 tables)

As you can see, roulette is a popular game at Casino Feuchtwangen, with 4 tables. In addition, it’s important to note that the minimum bet for it is just €1. Similarly, blackjack is also played at the casino. However, for blackjack, the minimum bet is slightly higher at €5, while the maximum bet is €1000.

Slot Selection at Casino Feuchtwangen

This modern casino in Feuchtwangen has a wide selection of slots. As we mentioned, there are 220+ slots that also offer a lot of gameplay variation. Some of the most popular slots there are the 4 jackpot slots. In addition to variety, the Feuchtwangen Casino also has incorporated a modern and easy way to play the slots.

The casino provides its players with a Casino Card. The process of using it is effortless, as all you need to do is load the card (maximum of €250) and swipe it at the slot to play. All stakes and winnings are directly credited to the card. Finally, all winnings can be withdrawn at the cash register or the self-service terminal.

Live Table Games at Casino Feuchtwangen

The live table games at Casino Feuchtwangen are also not to be ignored. For players who like that person-to-person interaction and are looking for excitement, the live table hall is where you need to be. What is so great about the roulette and blackjack tables is that they are quite popular with players, so you will not be bored.

Furthermore, there is one that is a bit more unique, so we have to tell you about it. Casino Feuchtwangen offers Punto Banco, a card game where you have to predict the winning field. This is great for you, as no matter if you are playing online or in a land-based casino, the house edge is small. Hence, you have a high chance of making a profit.

Casino Feuchtwangen Poker – Exciting Tournaments

The Casino Feuchtwangen poker tournaments are popular across Bavaria. This is where many of the region’s top players gather to meet one another and play some exciting poker. In Germany, the passion for poker is real, so at this casino, they hold regular tournaments to meet the high demand.

Opening Times, Entrance & Dress Code Rules

There are a few rules that you need to adhere to when visiting Feuchtwangen Casino. For example, according to the gambling laws in Germany, you have to be 21 to enter the casino, so the most important thing you need to bring is your ID card. It will certainly be checked at the door, along with your outfit. At Feuchtwangen Casino, they are not too strict, but there is still a dress code.

In this next section, we discuss these rules in more depth to make sure you are prepared. Furthermore, one of the most important things is to know when the casino is open. Not all games and tables are available at the same time, so consult the table we have prepared to find out when you can play.

🎲 Games Offered at Casino Feuchtwangen ⌚ Opening/Closing Times
American Roulette Sunday-Thursday: 15:00-02:00 ;
Friday & Saturday: 15:00-03:00
French Roulette
Blackjack
Bavarian Stud Poker Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 20:00-02:00
Poker Room Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 20:00-02:00
Slot Machines Sunday-Thursday: 12:00-02:00 ;
Friday-Saturday: 12:00-03:00

We hope this information helps anyone planning a trip to Feuchtwangen Casino. However, please keep in mind that these times are subject to change. Furthermore, try to avoid big holidays in Germany since the casino is not open on Good Friday, Day of Repentance and Prayer, All Saints’ Day, Memorial Day, Sunday of the Dead and Christmas Eve.

Entry Fees & Age Requirements for Feuchtwangen Casino

As we mentioned, according to the gambling laws in Germany, you have to be 21 to enter this or any other casino. So, bringing a valid ID card is crucial. Feuchtwangen Casino has a strict policy, and every visitor’s ID is checked at the door. Finally, once that is all cleared up, all you need to do is pay the entrance fee of €2,50, and you’re in.

You can enjoy the games at the casino until they close. However, when the casino closes and opens, and when certain games are available, is a bit tricky, so make sure to check beforehand. If these times are a bit too hard to track for you, maybe a casino with a more constant schedule, like Casino Baden-Baden, is more suitable for you.

Feuchtwangen Casino Dress Code – Dressy Casual

In addition to your ID, at the door, the security might check your outfit. However, Feuchtwangen Casino’s personnel is not too strict, so you don’t need to feel judged. The casino is, without a doubt, fancy, but the overly traditional wear that requires a suit and a black tie is not a must here.

Casino Feuchtwangen’s dress code is dressy casual, so no need for a tie. Nonetheless, you must be dressed neatly. For men, this means jackets and shirts, as well as formal pants. Remember, no jeans are allowed. Meanwhile, for the ladies, a cocktail dress, blazer or just evening wear would work, as long as there is no denim.

Saskatchewan’s Two-month Gaming Handle Nearing $24M

Saskatchewan’s Two-month Gaming Handle Nearing $24M

The strong financial performance is the result of a well-tailored product that has factored in player interest and preferences, leveraged by a strong underpinning platform by the province.

Great First Two Months

Figures provided by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) state that November’s revenue was CA$14.8 million (approx. $11.1 million), followed by CA$17 million (approx. $12.7 million) in December, according to a report by the Canadian outlet CBC. The number of registered users that generated this handle was a smidge over 8,000 in total, meaning every registered user has bet almost CA$4,000 (approx. $3,000) on average.

However, Michael Bellegarde – director of iGaming at SIGA – explained that the total wagers also included winnings and promos (bonuses, free bets, etc.), so it’s fair to speculate that they were re-wagered back on the platform. He has also said that roughly 95% of the wagers were returned to the players in prizing, according to outlet northeastNOW.

So, the betting handle here isn’t what bettors really spent on the platform – it’s the amount of money that went through it. According to SIGA’s own figures, the amount users deposited was around CA$3.7 million (approx. $2.8 million), made through a total of 55,000 deposits. This brings the average registered user’s own spending on the platform to a more realistic CA$67 (approx. $50).

Of the total CA$31.8 million (close to $23.8 million), a small fraction was from sports betting – approximating CA$1.2 million (around $900,000) in total. The rest comes from casino iGaming. CBC’s report cited Bellegarde’s surprise over this result, as his expectation was that since sports betting doesn’t have such a strong social stigma towards it, it should’ve been the driving force.

A Good Success Story

All this boils down to around CA$1.6 million (approx. $1.2 million) netted by the platform over its first two months, signaling that Saskatchewanians have most likely made it worth it for the operator. While the strong results indicate interest by punters, their own sheer numbers have drawn comments about player management in terms of health and support. A healthy punter makes for a healthy industry.

It isn’t feasible to expect that all necessary behavior data can be extracted and analyzed given the platform had such a strong start for such a short period of time. There are built-in algorithms aimed at detecting problem gambling behavior, though, leaving prevention and education as the better options to combat the potential headaches that the platform’s launch could pose.

This has been talked about even before the date for the launch was announced, so it has definitely not been going under the radar, and regulators are surely keeping an eye on developments on that front. SIGA had turned to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) to design and help launch the platform. BCLC’s previous experience in Manitoba surely helps minimize problems, though.

While Bulgaria continues to struggle in the ongoing political crisis, another government election is due in the next few months. At the same time, proposals in the country called for a ban on gambling advertising. The proposal called for changes in the advertising laws in the country to restrict advertising by gambling and betting operators in the country.

Although currently the “direct” advertising of gambling activities is forbidden in the country, a loophole in the regulations enables betting and gambling companies to position their products. As a result, Bulgaria’s national air is flooded with ads by betting companies.

Many of those ads air throughout the day or during family-watching hours, catching the attention of children and people under the age of 18, which is considered the legal age for gambling in the country. At the same time, banners by betting operators surround stadiums and public areas around the whole country.

Bulgarian Soccer Needs Gambling Partnerships, Says BFU

The BFU said in a statement that two-thirds of the professional soccer clubs in Bulgaria currently benefit from partnerships with licensed bookmakers. The Union acknowledged that this isn’t a sole occurrence for Bulgaria and said that licensed gambling operators and bookmakers team up with leading sports organizations around the globe. “Globally recognized teams benefit from advertising (betting) brands which contribute toward the growth of the sport,” wrote the BFU.

The Bulgarian Football Union condemns the proposal for changes in the existing advertising regulations to prohibit advertising gambling and betting companies,

Additionally, the BFU stressed that most of the professional and even amateur soccer clubs in the country exist only thanks to the invaluable financing provided by the gambling industry. According to the Union, severing this vital source of funds can result in the disappearance of those soccer clubs.

In its statement, the Football Union claimed that the performance of Bulgarian soccer teams isn’t the result of partnerships with gambling companies or missing talent but rather a consequence of how impartial the country is toward the sport. What’s more, the BFU said that politicians in the country are using the proposed gambling ads for “political dividends.” Finally, the Union said it doesn’t expect the help of lawmakers in the country and urged them not to stay in the way of the growth of soccer.

2022 Global Poker Awards Categories Revealed; 29 Trophies Up for Grabs

2022 Global Poker Awards Categories Revealed; 29 Trophies Up for Grabs

Via a press release from Global Poker Index and The Hendon Mob, the categories have been revealed for the 2022 Global Poker Awards show, which takes place March 3 at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

There will be 29 shiny GPI trophies handed out, and the event will be live-streamed on PokerGO starting at 8:30 p.m. ET. Various poker players, content creators, and industry personnel will have opportunities to grab one or more of those trophies.

We don’t know who will win 26 of the awards, but we do know three of the winners — Stephen Song and Cherish Andrews. That wasn’t a miscount as Song has already been declared the winner of both the 2022 GPI Player of the Year and GPI Mid-Major Player of the Year awards, while Andrews is the GPI Female Player of the Year recipient.

Tough to Project Winners

Last year’s Global Poker Awards was focused heavily on Ali Imsirovic, who stole the show with three trophies including GPI Player of the Year. This year, however, it’s unlikely he’ll get any recognition given that he was accused of cheating in 2022 and was temporarily banned from competing in PokerGO events.

Imsirovic, who won 14 high rollers in 2021, was a lock to win multiple categories last year. But there was more parity in tournament poker last year, which makes categories such as Players’ Choice for Toughest Opponent tough to predict. The race for GPI Player of the Year went down to the wire with Song, who won the WPT Prime Championship in December, pulling it out in the end.

Other top categories include Rising Star in Content Creation, Best Final Table Performance, GPI Breakout Player, Comeback Player, and Best Twitter Personality.

Voting panel members were expected to receive their ballots on Monday for the first round of voting. The final round of voting for the fourth edition of the Global Poker Awards will take place Feb. 2. Poker fans will also have some say in the voting process with a fan vote on four GPI Fans Choice awards.

Sportsbook Launched Inside NFL Stadium for First Time in US Betting History

FedExField sign

A first for the NFL

People can now place sports bets in person inside an NFL stadium for the first time after the launch of the Fanatics Sportsbook at the Washington Commanders’ FedExField in Maryland. It is the first time that the popular sports merchandise company has launched a sportsbook in the US.

first official day of operations was Friday

The partnership with the Commanders allowed Fanatics to open an offering in the state. The first official day of operations was Friday and the first wager was placed by the NFL team’s 2022 fan of the year winner, Chris Bryant, who bet on a parlay involving the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards.

The new facility

The retail sportsbook is 5,000 square feet in size and has eight betting windows, 21 self-service betting kiosks, many television screens, and a full-service restaurant. An in-house team at Fanatics Betting and Gaming will be in charge of operating the sportsbook.

The facility will be open every day of the week between 10am and 12am ET. The main exception is that the sportsbook cannot accept wagers on the days of Washington Commanders home games, a rule in line with the NFL’s policy on commercial gambling.

Fanatics has plans to have a sports betting presence in 15-20 states by the start of the next NFL season. It is eyeing a potential acquisition in the space to help achieve this goal.

Washington Commanders team president Jason Wright welcomed the opening of the new retail sportsbook. He spoke about how it will help expand the guest experience at the venue and thanked lawmakers and the state regulator for helping to make the sportsbook possible.

NFL teams embrace sports betting

The Arizona Cardinals do have a retail sportsbook open in close proximity to its stadium. The standalone facility adjacent to State Farm Stadium opened for business in September, just in time for the start of the NFL season. The two-story property is operated by BetMGM and has proven popular since its opening.

the NFL itself has also embraced the world of legal sports betting

Other NFL teams have also outlined plans to do something similar by constructing a retail sportsbook in or close to their home venues. Many franchises already have official sports betting partnerships in place with operators. The NFL itself has also embraced the world of legal sports betting since it became federally legal, with official partnerships with multiple sportsbook operators.
