Zitro Slots Entered Croatia with Luckia Casino Zagreb

Developer of gambling content Zitro announced today it has expanded its European footprint by entering the market in Croatia with Luckia Casino Zagreb.

Expanding Slot Offering at Casino Zagreb

The agreement with Spanish-based Luckia Gaming Group will allow Zitro to deliver its suite of video slots and enhance the product offering at Luckia Casino Zagreb, helping the casino lure players with gaming entertainment paired with attractive prizes.

Commenting on the development, Pedro Rodríguez, country manager at Luckia, pointed to two of the games that position Zitro among the industry’s leading developers of gaming content.

“Link King and Link Me are truly amazing products, both for players and for us as operators,” Rodríguez said, convinced that these products present “a very attractive option to diversify the full range of games” that Luckia is making available to its customers at Casino Zagreb.

Featuring two of Zitro’s finest, these first-class slot games operated on the Fusion Glare cabinet will bring to Luckia Casino Zagreb all the exciting features that have earned them popularity among casino players around the world and proved to be a safe bet for casino operators. Zitro’s Fusion Glare cabinets, the shortest model in the range, come with two 27-inch screens each and a new Smartdeck console.

At the end of last year, Zitro delivered 160 Glare Cabinets to Grupo Boldt in Argentina and continued to grow its Latin American footprint. Installed at the group’s Santa Fe, Trilenium, Tandil, del Mar, and Melincué casinos, the cabinets featured Zitro’s popular games Link Me, Link King, 88 Link, and Mega King.

Earlier this year, Spanish land-based casino operator, Cirsa Casinos, introduced Zitro’s Mega King in Mexico to entice players with its engaging mechanics, scalable progressives, eye-catching graphics and premium sound.

Zitro’s First Steps in Croatia

On behalf of Zitro, the director of Casinos Spain, Jaime Anibal, commented on the announcement, “delighted to be able to offer” some of the [company’s] greatest hits in Croatia,” in partnership with Luckia, and grateful to its partner for the trust shown in Zitro’s products.

We are fully confident that Link King and Link Me will succeed in Croatia just as they are succeeding worldwide.

Jaime Anibal, director of Casinos Spain

Operating out of Spain, Luckia Gaming Group manages several casinos globally, among which Luckia Casino Zagreb. It is located in Hotel Antunović Zagreb and first opened doors to the public in 2007 as Golden Sun Casino, and rebranded to Luckia Casino Zagreb in 2017 when the company officially launched its international brand.

Celebrating Breakthroughs: International Women’s Day

Preventing the Link Between Crime & Problem Gambling

Throughout history, women have made great strides, breaking through social, economic, political, and cultural barriers in the fight for equality. On International Women’s Day on March 8th and Women’s History Month throughout March, we are celebrating these breakthroughs while keeping an eye on future generations of politicians, parents, students, doctors, neighbors, friends, and so much more. As we work to #BreaktheBias and forge women’s equality, the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling (FCCG) wants to draw your attention to a rising concern — how women are uniquely drawn in by problem gambling and the barriers that may prevent them from seeking help.

As we strive for diversity, equity, and inclusivity on every level, it is important to recognize that gambling disorders do not discriminate, and women are not excluded from these disorders’ harmful impacts. Alongside Women’s History Month is Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM), a time where we promote public awareness of the effects of problem gambling. This hidden addiction may not show itself as obviously as other compulsive behaviors, but its impact is just as real.

While there is an assumption that problem gambling is mostly limited to men, this is not true. For example, recent studies show that women account for almost one-third of total sports bettors. [1] While sports betting is still illegal in Florida, the American Gaming Association estimates illegal sports gambling accounts for $511 billion of all sports bets placed each year, so there are many ways that men and women alike can still place bets on their preferred teams. [2]

Women typically have different motivations for gambling than men — while men thrive on the action and competition of gambling, women often see it as an escape from their realities and find temporary relief as they lose themselves in games such as slots, video poker, lotteries, and bingo. [3] In addition to different avenues of gambling, women may also perceive a gambling problem in a different light. With less representation of female problem gambling across media, women may feel alone in their struggles, with some expressing it would be more shameful to experience problem gambling than other addictions, such as alcohol, as they seem more common. [4]

With societal pressures and perceptions that women must be responsible caregivers, the fear of being seen as irresponsible due to gambling may lead to additional shame and loneliness for women. [5] This stigma could keep women from seeking the help and support they need and deserve and keep our society as a whole from reaching true equality in every facet of life.

The best way we can honor the achievements of the women who have gone before us while protecting present and future generations from the negative impacts of problem gambling is to break down the stigma surrounding seeking help and spreading awareness of resources for recovery. If you or a loved one is struggling with problem gambling, remember that recovery is Your One Sure Thing when you call or text 888-ADMIT-IT. This 24/7, multilingual, confidential and free HelpLine is available for any Florida resident looking to connect with the resources they need to experience freedom from compulsive gambling behaviors. As we celebrate the strong women in our lives, the FCCG wants you to be aware of resources such as our Literature Packet, a tool we put together that is tailored to women struggling with problem gambling so that they can experience healing that meets them where they are.

Celebrando Avances: Día Internacional de la Mujer

Preventing the Link Between Crime & Problem Gambling

BGC Reports Increase in the Use of Safer Gambling Tools

Review in the UK Estimated Cost of Gambling Harm to over £1B

The industry body of the UK gaming and betting sector, the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), announced Wednesday the results following the Safer Gambling Week which took place back in October. The new data, confirms the success of the initiative as it indicates that thousands of gamblers have set deposit limits, while impressions on social media platforms skyrocketed.

The BGC revealed that Safer Gambling Week helped generate some 30 million impressions via Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This result, when compared to the figure from 2021, marked an increase of 21%.

Safer Gambling Week is an annual cross-sector initiative bringing together the UK and Irish regulated betting and gaming industry – including bookmakers, amusement arcades, bingo clubs, casinos and online gaming operators – with charities and stakeholders to encourage safe and responsible play,

reads a statement released by the BGC

Additionally, during October, when the Safer Gambling Week took place, some 200,000 different accounts implemented deposit limits. This data, when compared to the data from the same period the prior year, marked an increase of 12.5%. What’s more, some 60% of the players that set deposit limits did that for the first time.

Last but not least, the BGC explained that the “number of players actively using reality checks – on-screen alerts tracking how long customers are playing – rose by an astonishing 300%.”

The BGC Is Happy with the Recent Results

BGC’s chief executive, Michael Dugher, praised the latest results acknowledging the positive impact of Safer Gambling Week. He added that the initiative continues to encourage gamblers to use safer gambling tools and benefit from the services of licensed operators.

Dugher said that the popularity of safer gambling tools continues to grow and by now, there are millions of customers benefitting from time outs and deposit limits. According to BGC’s boss, safer gambling tools make the regulated gambling market stand out.

Safer Gambling Week is further evidence of the regulated industry’s determination to keep raising standards.

Michael Dugher, chief executive of the BGC

At the same time, Dugher reminded that the black market or unlicensed operators do not offer the same methods for protection as the regulated sector. In conclusion, BGC’s chief executive said that the Council is looking forward to this year’s edition of the initiative which is expected to bring further success.

The recent results were released after recently, the gambling regulator in the UK, the Gambling Commission, confirmed that the problem gambling rate in the country has decreased. The watchdog said that the rate of problem gambling among adults has decreased from 0.3% to 0.2%.

Kansas’ Prairie Band Casino Pays Out $1M Jackpot

Kansas’ Prairie Band Casino Pays Out $1M Jackpot

His name is Steven L. and he started out with a $5 progressive bet, which in turn made him eligible for one of four total progressive payouts. He hit his magical Royal Flush on the flop, and that’s how he won the mega jackpot.

Prairie Band Casino Win

He was dealt a King and a Jack of Hearts, and the flop brought him the incredibly lucky 10 of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, and Ace of Hearts, fulfilling his winning five-card Royal Flush. According to Kansas TV station WIBW’s report, Steven was dealt four of a kind not four hours earlier, winning himself the Minor Progressive in Ultimate Texas Hold’em.

While this was undisputedly a very lucky day for Steven, the casino manager was cited by WIBW saying that there were 661 progressive wins since the Linked Progressive was brought to Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Mississippi Stud tables. The casino paid out more than $3.9 million in total progressive wins so far. Still, Steven’s win is probably of the most sizeable ones.

Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in Mayetta operates the Prairie Band Casino and Resort, and this is one of the six cities that have tribal-run casinos in the state. There are also four state-run casinos in Kansas City, Pittsburg, Mulvane, and Dodge City, that offer casino-style games. The total number of casinos in the state currently is 11, according to the American Gaming Association.

Wins in Las Vegas and Nevada

It’s been a busy start of the year for progressive poker jackpots, and it’s not just in Kansas. Towards the end of January, a lucky visitor of Aliante Casino in North Las Vegas, Nevada, won a progressive jackpot totaling $100,000. His winning hand was again a Royal Flush, which he was dealt in a game on a Multi Poker Progressive machine on the casino’s floor.

As for non-poker wins, an unnamed player won a $3.2 million progressive jackpot on a slot machine at the Bellagio Las Vegas in February. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the player won $3,257,830 on a Triple Gold Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin slot game. International Game Technology (IGT) – the manufacturer of the slot machine – announced the jackpot.

Other Progressive Wins

February wasn’t a lucky month only for slots players in Las Vegas, of course. LeAnn W. won an astounding more than $3.27 million in a Wheel of Fortune slot machine progressive game. She got lucky and won the jackpot during birthday celebrations with family members. They had another great reason to celebrate after LeAnn W. became a multi-millionaire on the spot.

Progressive jackpots aren’t exclusive to casinos, however. Instant Win Gaming (IWG) is a provider of eInstant games for lotteries. IWG confirmed that multiple record progressive jackpots have been awarded since the start of the year. This includes a $403,618 win in the Michigan Lottery, the $785,414 jackpot in the Virginia Lottery, and another jackpot in the New Hampshire Lottery totaling $392,703.

Scotsquad Claims APAT UK Team Championship Title

Scotsquad Claims APAT UK Team Championship Title

The UK Team Championship is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) calendar. Players travel the length and breadth of the United Kingdom to represent their teams. This year, the UK Team Championship saw 45 teams of eight players battle it out for supremacy at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. When the dust settled, it was Scotsquad that were victorious, and they take the coveted gold APAT medals back over the border.

Each entrant paid £120 to enter the UK Team Championship, and the £36,000 prize pool was split between the team event and the individual race for glory. The top seven teams fought tooth and nail for the lion’s share of £27,000 with the top nine individuals capturing a slice of £9,000.

Bishops Cleeve Bar 9 and LV22 progressed to Day 2 having lost only one player each, giving them every chance of becoming UK Team Championship champions. Scotsquad, who won the gold medal in Manchester in 2014 and again in Blackpool in 2017, entered Day 2 with five of their eight members still in the mix.

The tension around Dusk Till Dawn increased as the field thinned because each deeper finishing position earned vital Team leaderboard points. The Team Event bubble burst when Frome Poker Group lost its final player and could only amass 253 points. London Poker Meetup finished seventh with 254 points, showing how close Frome Poker Group was to securing a payout.

Carterton Poker Club (262 points) finished sixth, North Tyneside Poker (338) fifth, and LBPN (391) fourth.

That left Rab McCarrol, Colin Napier, Willy Higgins, James Marriot, Nicholas Howat, Donald Sloss, Clare Duffy, and George Dick of Scotsquad (499) to get their hands on the famous gold APAT medal in addition to £8,000 to share between themselves.

Tinnion Takes Down The Individual Championship

While players had one eye on the Team standings, they were also heavily invested in their own performances because £9,000 was up for grabs in the individual part of the UK Team Championship.

Hugh Cairnie was the first individual to see some prize money land in their wallet, namely £300 for a ninth-place finish. Dan Crabbe, Chris Roberts, and Nicholas Howat followed suit, with Howat’s sixth-place finish going some way to lock in the Team title for Scotsquad.

Warren Carless, and Alastair Hackett crashed by the wayside, leaving only three players in the hunt for the title of individual champion. Ryan Houghton of Angies room busted in third for a bronze medal and £1,250. Houghton’s untimely demise left Wayne Tinnion (Geordie Poker) and Jon Young (Carterton Poker Club) heads-up for the title. Young fell in second for a silver medal and £1,800, with Tinnion taking home a gold medal and £2,500 for his efforts.

SFPL Player Gets Booked to Fix Bet365 Betting Market

SFPL Player Gets Booked to Fix Bet365 Betting Market

Kane Hester, a famous soccer player a part of Elgin City, was accused of his alleged involvement in fraud against a bookmaker along with multiple other individuals, a report reveals. On Tuesday, BBC revealed that Hester, along with three other men, were accused of participating in a fraudulent scheme to defraud Bet365, the famous bookmaker.

Besides the soccer player, other alleged participants in the activity include Findlay Soutar, Calvin Parrott and Brodie Myres. Allegedly, the four men hit some £17,333 ($14,600) in winnings from Bet365. It is believed from the total, some £13,583 ($11,500) in winnings were obtained thanks to the illegal activity.

The fraudulent scheme reportedly dates back to 2019. Back then, for a game from the Scottish League Cup, Hester received a yellow card. The three other participants allegedly placed multiple wagers just before the game. Accusations against Myles, Parrot and Soutar claim that they engaged in five separate wagers. Those bets allegedly defrauded the bookmaker out of £13,583 ($11,500) in 5-1 odds of winning.

Police Raids Hester’s Home, Finds £2,400

The new report revealed that law enforcement raided the home of the 27-year-old soccer player. Reportedly, when police arrived at Hester’s home, they found some £2,400 ($2,030) in a bedside drawer. A video record of the police raid was shown to the court and the soccer player is reportedly heard saying “I’ve got the money, it’s at home. If I take you home and give you the money, that’s what happened. I was booked in a game and my friends gave me money for it – £2,500.”

In light of the accusations, the Scottish Football Association vowed to probe Hester’s performance in the aforementioned game. What will happen next remains to be determined as the trial is ongoing.

The announcement about the alleged scam comes after early last month, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) released its report for suspicious betting alerts for 2022, reporting a total of 268 suspicious alerts. Not unexpectedly, the highest number of alerts were recorded in Europe, a total of 126. The Most Refined Game in the Book Series

The new release from the premium business-to-business provider currently boasts the highest production quality from all of Relax Gaming’s previous “Book of” titles.

As explained by the company’s director of casino products Shelley Hannah, the previous “wonderful” collaborations with CasinoGrounds and positive feedback received from players convinced the two parties to once again reunite for the release of the new thrilling title. Hannah also spoke about the plethora of “exciting new features and excellent visuals” that have been integrated into the new game to create an unforgettable quest for players.

In February 2022, the two partnered for the launch of Beast Mode, a slot with high volatility inspired by the eighties. The Net Games slot released at the end of 2022 was the result of another excellent collaboration between the two when the streaming community once again had a say in the final development of the game.

In 2020, Relax Gaming and CasinoGrounds released Iron Bank, a Cuban-themed slot with a max win of 49998.9x the bet.

Giving Players What They Want

The 2016-founded CasinoGrounds streaming community is a group of online casino streamers and players looking to “set the grounds for our streamers and fans to share knowledge and discuss” all things related to online casinos.

Once again, the community has had its own say in the creation of the new title released together with Relax Gaming, making sure it hosts the most popular and appreciated game features preferred by players.

The game features a beautiful backdrop that carries players to what appears to be a pyramid’s entrance with two large statues on the sides. The soundtrack nicely complements the overall aesthetics and storylines.

While venturing through Ancient Egypt from the position of an explorer searching for the mysterious book that yields massive powers, players will come across lucrative features like the Free Spins and Power Free Spins modes, the Power Bet feature, Wild Book symbols, and Hot Mode.

During Free Spins mode, the Expanding Symbol is randomly selected and can expand to generate bigger payouts. During Power Free Spins, similar actions can occur, with additional Expanding Symbols and special win multipliers possibly making an appearance.

To increase their chances of activating a bonus game by 170%, the provider has created the Power Bet feature. At the same time, the Hot Mode boosts the chances of scoring a greater win while the Bonus Buy will engage the Free Spins bonus.

At the start of the year, Relax Gaming announced the release of Horror Hotel, a new horror slot with the Mystery Symbol feature.
